About this cottage rental

Situated in Historic Montford, this charming cottage for $87 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Friendly Montford neighborhood: Elizabeth Place is a warm & uniquely furnished 1 Bedroom/1.5 Bath period home on a quiet, safe street. A short stroll to exquisite eateries, shopping, Saint Lawrence Basilica, and Asheville Symphony. Well-appointed kitchen, high quality bedding, private screened back porch with garden, outdoor dining. Our ‘Elizabeth Place’ is a tranquil haven in the heart of Asheville. The home is filled with splendid light. The entrance opens to an airy, bright living room, adjacent to a cozy bedroom. A lovely dining room and galley kitchen lead to a screened back porch & enclosed yard and grill. All rooms on one level. Everything you'll need! The home has central heat and air and a gas fireplace and off-street parking. The street is lined with homes with attractive gardens. In true ‘Asheville’ style, there is a neighborhood vegetable garden including bee hives! We were fortunate to find this location which afforded us the opportunity to participate in activities downtown, symphony, theater, tail-gate market all within easy bike and walking distance. There is a Harris Teeter, Trader Joes and Whole Foods within 4 blocks. We enjoy wonderful restaurants nearby; French at ‘Bouchon’, Asian at ‘Gan Shan Station’, Italian at ‘Chiesa’, Jamaican at ‘9 Mile’, and our favorite Greek diner at ‘5 Points Diner’ all within walking distance. We are next to the entrance to the Reed Creek Greenway (see map in photos). This is a lovely walk or bike ride along the creek to the Botanical Gardens and to the many activities at the University of North Carolina at Asheville including the well-known Saturday morning Tail-gate market. We love reclaiming the best of the past. This 1915 home had been lovingly cared for but not updated in many years. In the restoration, we searched many salvage yards for authentic pieces of reclaimed artifacts. The entrance handrails came from a New England church, the kitchen countertops are reclaimed soapstone and the period enamel sink was found locally. The home is furnished with family pieces from the era. Much of the artwork was done by one of the owners including the painting on the floor of the screened porch. My husband and I spent an extended time at this cute house. It had everything we needed and more. We were greeted with beautiful peaches, peach ice cream, and ginger ale. A treat for sure. The bed was very comfortable with high quality sheets. The kitchen was spacious for the small house and the cooking pans excellent. The owners were very responsive when needed. The best part for us was the screened back porch with the lovely yard. We like to grill and the gas grill was so nice to have. We think it's one of our best stays in the Montford neighborhood. Highly recommend.

The house and neighborhood are lovely! Walking distance to downtown and convenient to grocery stores and anything else you need. We stayed in the property for over 2 months and could not have been happier! Brad was always responsive and made sure our stay was great! The screened in back porch was my favorite spot! If we need another stay in Asheville, we would definitely stay at this lovely home!

We loved staying in this adorable cottage for six weeks. It's on a quiet street with th bonus of off street parking. You can easily walk to downtown which we did often. The house is so well equipped with anything you could need and there are three wonderful grocery stores super close by. Our hosts were lovely and had excellent communication. The wifi was great for working remotely. Would happily stay again!

This small home is adorable. It was a very comfortable fit for a couple. With cooler summer weather, we were able to enjoy hours sitting in the screen porch. We watched the hummingbirds visit the sage and morning glories while we read and snacked. The kitchen was well equipped, everything we needed to prepare a meal. The bed was excellent, possibly the nicest sheets we’ve ever slept under. The hosts were gracious. They left a gift card for us and brought a bag of fresh peaches the first week of our stay. As a bonus the home is decorated with antiques and all sorts of art, including many paintings done by one of the owners.

We come to Asheville every summer to stay at my friend’s house. Unfortunately, she has decided to sell her place so we decided to explore Asheville through VRBO. We are so lucky to have found this gem. Settled amongst some grand houses of Montfort and in walking distance to town. We spent a month exploring different areas, took day trips hiking, and then settling back on one of the porches of this house. I spent every morning sipping my coffee on the back porch listening to birds chirping away and drawing pictures of their many flowers. The owners were above wonderful. The house is well supplied. Love love love this house.
