We loved Mermaid's Folly. It was clean and bright, and as described. Lots of spaces to hang out and eat. The kitchen was good for preparing meals, lots of spices already there when we arrived. The coffee setup was good (there was even a coffee grinder!). The beds were very comfortable. Lots of DVDs and tons of books to choose from. The street was very peaceful and pleasant, especially quiet even on New Year's Eve. It's a bit of a walk to the main street where the restaurants are, about 10 minutes with no sidewalks, but not too bad. Supermarkets within 5-10 minute drive. If we return to the area, we would stay here again.

I stayed at Mermaids Folly this past weekend with 6 of my friends for my bachelorette weekend! The house was everything we could have wanted! Quiet area, about a half mile to the downtown area (bars, restaurants, etc.) so perfect location! We ended up renting a golf cart since some of our other party was staying closer to the water, which was definitely worth it. We enjoyed sitting in the living room at night which had plenty of cozy sofas and chairs, then would hang out of the back porch in the morning for coffee, we had an amazing time, we will go back!

Great house, great location! The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and - best of all - an easy short walk to the beach and center of town. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoyed the multiple decks. This was our first time in Folly Beach and we would absolutely stay here again!

Overall, a pretty nice house that had everything we needed. It is about 3 blocks to the beach, an easy walk for adults but a little long for young children. The only complaint is the mattress in the master bedroom .. I slept in a hole and it hurt my back… it needs to be replaced. Other than that, everything was fine!

I wanted to take my mom, who was diagnosed a year ago with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, on a nice vacation to charleston. I searched everywhere in the area and decided to book here at folly beach. Wow were we impressed. We're so used to the busy beaches up north, that this was a nice change of pace. The house was beautiful and well layed out. The beds were comfortable and everyone fell in love with the sun room. The beach, retail stores, bars/restaurants were well within walking distance. I definitely want to return with my family and children in the future. Highly recommend

We loved everything about this house. It was the perfect size for our family (6 adults) as we each had our own room, but wasn’t so big that we had to go up and down stairs or feel overwhelmed with space. The outdoor porches/decks were amazing and the sunroom was our favorite area. We used the gas grill to cookout and cooked all but one meal at home. The kitchen was well supplied. Walking to the beach and downtown was easy in this quiet neighborhood.

Everyone had a bedroom and the dining and living room space was enough for everyone to fit. Kitchen was tight but had everything we needed to cook dinner each night. Communication with property manager was quick and attentive. Great place!!!

The pictures don’t do the house justice. It’s incredibly clean and well decorated, very well stocked with all the necessities and you can’t beat the location. We rented a golf cart from Folly Beach Golf Carts and had the best time exploring the area and hitting the beach. Definitely visit Crosby’s for fresh seafood! A very special place. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 young one’s. We loved how the backyard would light up from below to show the beautiful trees and plants at night. It felt like a tree house. Squirrels would play in the trees and run about during the day. The enclosed windowed porch was warm enough to sit on in Dec and have a cocktail at night while the kiddo’s were sleeping. Loved the neighborhood. It’s more year round residential. The homes were very nice and so were the neighbors! We’d definitely come back and stay here. Very walkable with nice restaurants all within walking distance. Safe too. Enjoy yourselves like we did. Thank you Sarah and Steven!!

This is a great house in the perfect location on Folly! I did a lot of research and this house was an excellent price and value. In terms of location, you are both a short walk from the beach and to the town area where there are restaurants, bars and Bert's grocery store. It's so nice to be able to walk to all these things and not worry about driving/parking/etc. And the house is just far enough away from these things that it is very quiet at night - super peaceful. I wish we'd had more time to take advantage of all the different areas to hang out - an enclosed porch, an outdoor grilling area, and a front outdoor seating area with adirondack chairs. We were there 4 nights for a reunion of 4 friends, and the 4 bedrooms were perfect. If you're going to Folly, I recommend Mermaid's Folly as a great place to stay!

What was initially booked as a girls week for a group of 8 women turned into a trip of 4 due to positive Covid cases. We all had our own bedrooms & lots of space to grab some alone time. The house was exactly as described with the exception of the kitchen which had been upgraded and looked wonderful! The furniture and beds were comfy and clean and set up well. The walk to the beach and into town were 7 minutes or under and we were able to use a wagon, beach chairs and towels from the house. Which was very convenient as we flew in last minute when our number of guests dropped. I appreciated that they had a service handle moving the garbage & recycling cans. I’ve been in vacation rentals where we were busy having fun and forgot to do that and ended up with really full cans by the end of the week. I would book this house again & recommend to others

We stayed for 4 days and enjoyed every moment. 3 adults and 3 kids and the house was the perfect size. We walked to the beach, walked to downtown (and frozen treats) and enjoyed all the amenities. The kitchen had all we needed to cook our own meals and having a washer & dryer was super helpful as well. The solarium and selection of games and dvds let us enjoy downtime. What a lovely stay! We'll be back.

Mermaid’s Folly was a perfect getaway from our busy day to day. The home was cozy and quiet. As a runner, I truly enjoyed my morning runs down Ashley Blvd and the surrounding streets. The town was small and the restaurants were great.

Wonderful, clean, comfortable well appointed home for “too short” of a stay. The sunroom’s vistas with live Oaks & palms was lovely. We walked to Center St for dinner most evenings, making this location super convenient. Steven & Sarah were extremely responsive. Would highly recommend !
