Que la hamaca tuviera más espacio

Todo muy limpio y confortable, lástima que no pudimos desayunar en la cafetería del lugar que se veía muy bien. El personal muy amable y atento.

No tiene estacionamiento, hay que dejar el auto sobre la avenida. Hubo huéspedes que salieron a la piscina a la una de la mañana y nos despertaron con sus gritos, no respetaron el horario establecido.

The best thing about the property was the staff, hands-down. Mary and Pedro were extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Like the kind of people you want to give a big hug because they make you instantly feel welcome and comfortable. Water dispensers were placed throughout, and tea was offered in the lounge, along with access to microwave and mini fridge. Also the property felt safe. Front looks nice. Fun Rick & Morty painting on the wall.

Pictures did not at alllllllll match the actual accommodations. The big fun MERIDA sign with bulbs is no longer there; the furniture feels run down and does not match most of what is pictured. Fixtures had rust, especially in the bathrooms. Furniture and decor were not nearly as charming as pictured, way less color, way more plain. I can’t tell if it changed ownership recently and the new owners just let it get run down, or what’s happened, but the pictures are very outdated. The rooms are dated and not nearly as colorful or luxurious as they appear in the pictures. Clean overall, and have basic necessities, air works, but everything feels a bit tattered. The rusty nails around the bathroom mirror and the rusty screw in the shower were safety concerns. Also for a place that advertises “breakfast included,” it was extremely misleading. The free breakfast is just toast and the most thinly-sliced sliver of apple, with coffee. Everything else was extra. I did not speak much to the owners, but I feel like they felt burdened to have guests staying there. From what I observed, it felt like they were just using the hotel as their own private restaurant and inviting their family and personal friends who took up most of the dining and lounge areas, and who ran the hotel staff ragged, making it hard for them to address the needs of actual hotel guests. The dynamic was really off-putting and - despite the extremely charming and hospitable staff - (as mentioned above under What Did You Like About the Property?), the attitude of the owners and their crowd of personal guests with children running all over made us feel like we were in the way, like we were in the middle of their personal living room tripping over their children and grandma. Frankly, I love trying new hotels and I rarely ever write a negative review for anywhere, but I felt compelled to do so here. For a “downtown” hotel, it’s too far to walk anywhere in under 30-45 minutes.
