About this cottage rental
This cozy studio cottage (lovingly called the Writer's Cottage) at Stemple Creek Ranch in West Marin is a sweet retreat. It has a small deck with a BBQ, tiny kitchenette, outdoor shower, and views of the countryside that stretch for miles. We have two other AirBnB lodgings on the ranch - A 5 person "Rustic Cabin" and a 6 person "Charming Farmhouse".
Stemple Creek Ranch is a family owned and operated organic cattle ranch in Tomales, CA, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef and lamb and pastured pork. This cabin is a refurbished small barn. It is a studio with a queen-sized bed, writing desk, cozy chair, small kitchenette, half bath (open to the room) and an outdoor shower. There is also a small, private backyard with seating and a gas a BBQ.
The Ranch is just a few miles from the town of Tomales, less than a mile away from Highway 1 (Shoreline Highway), and a great home base for exploring Marin or Sonoma Counties.
Please note: no pets, no smoking, no open flames.
We do not live on the Ranch, but there are other houses on the ranch where other people live and we do work there on most days.
Tomales is in West Marin County just a stone's throw from the Pacific Ocean and Sonoma County. Visitors love to go kayaking, hiking, and enjoy the local wine, oysters, and cheese.
There is parking at the cottage. There is no public transportation in the area, a car is required for getting around.
There is Verizon and AT&T cell service. We also have satellite-based wifi on the ranch. If you want to order beef or lamb from us (Stemple Creek Ranch) please let us know 10 days in advance, and we can have it there for you when you arrive.

Loved the peaceful, quiet countryside and the close vicinity to Sonoma Valley. It was as advertised and I do recommend this tiny adorable house!!
