Nestled in Rhodes, this lovely house for $152 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Welcome to our place which is located right next to St. Athanasius gate. You are now in the “Turkish neighborhood” which is one of the many cross cultural neighborhoods of the Old Town. Here you will have the chance to live in a traditional restored medieval home. The Garden The oasis like green and luscious garden with citrus trees, bougainvillea and other plants will help you capture the magic essence of the Mediterranean atmosphere. The high stone walls surrounding the garden offer privacy and tranquility. There is a private courtyard fully equipped for dinning and relaxing. You can also enjoy the outdoors BBQ. The large bitter orange tree with the built-in stone benches around is the right place for your breakfast in the morning shade. Tables and director's chairs complete the comfortable scene. The House A two storey home features a bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom in each floor. The ground floor consists of a dining room fully furnished with air condition and a bedroom with double bed, closet, drawers and fan. Also here you will find the fully equipped kitchen with electric cooking range and oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, boiler and coffee machine. There is also a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine. In the cozy living room there is a sofa bed, a flat screen TV with Satellite, DVD player and a ceiling fan. On the first floor there is a bedroom with double bed, bedside tables and closet, en-suite bathroom (WC &shower) and a beautiful terrace offering a panoramic view of the historical medieval walls. It is equipped with sun beds and sun umbrella, an idyllic place for soaking up the sun or enjoying the night sky. Our home can accommodate up to 5 people. We provide all necessary linen and towels. Hot water supply is constant, powered by solar energy. All windows and doors have insect protection net. There are also ironing facilities, Fire extinguisher, First Aid Kit and a safe. It is available on request a cot and a highchair for a baby. Transportation Just outside the Gate of St. Athanasius, (2 min. walk) ,there is a taxi station and a bus station (suburban & urban) leading you to the beaches and beyond. There is also free parking space available right next to St. Athanasius gate. The neighborhood Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood near the center, while also sheltered from the noise of the city. All sights of the Old Town, monuments, museums, shopping market, pharmacy and entertainment district with taverns, restaurants and bars, are within a 5 - 10 minute walk from the house. In the picturesque streets surrounding the house you will find monuments, mini markets, bakeries, tourist’s accommodations, souvenir shops, and the red light houses, all coexisting in harmony. After all, it is this colorful blend of different cultures that form the unique flavor of this town. Rosa is a very friendly, helpful and really nice host for this lovely comfortable house, in a quiet neighbourhood, inside the city walls of Old Town Rhodes. Everything you need is provided and there is a lovely garden to enjoy. All the major sites of this wonderful historic town are close, the archeological museum is a must-visit and don’t forget its gardens for more treasures. Island buses are not far away as is the port for visiting nearby islands, or reaching Lindos by boat. This was our second stay, really like Rhodes - highly recommended

We stayed for a week in this lovely house in the historic city. The rooms are clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable for our family of five. It was quiet inside and had a beautiful garden with a table for eating outside. The terrace balcony upstairs was a nice place to have coffee in the morning. The host provided everything we needed for washing clothes and dishes and she was always available to help and offer recommendations. I would not hesitate to stay there again and recommend this house to anyone visiting Rhodes.

Location is brilliant, inside the town walls yet close enough to St Athanasios Gate / San Francisco for local buses and larger shops outside the old town.
The house is well equipped with everything you need and Rosa was super friendly and helpful with all the enquiries one has not knowing the area.
It's a 25 minutes walk to Zefyros beach, which is much nicer (and cheaper!) than Elli beach and the way there goes past a pretty large Kritikos supermarket. A minimarket, a small bakery, and a few bars and restaurants are literally around the corder within the old town.
We really enjoyed our stay and can highly recommed the house!

This is an amazing place to stay within the walls of Rhodes Old Town. The location is wonderful and the two storey old house with garden and two bathrooms is a little paradise. It is clean and well provisioned for self catering and Rosa was a delightful host. Highly recommended!

We loved the location of this quirky, colourful house in a corner of the walled City with small shops close by and yet close to one of the gates for accessing car and new town. (Supermarket and fruit and veg shop outside were just 15 minutes walk away there)
Rosa met us outside gate and was waiting patiently, while we got a bit lost, to help us drag our bags over a very short distance of cobbled lanes and then show us everything in her family home that we needed to know.
The house had everything we needed, though we didn't cook much as there were so very many restaurants within minutes and we wanted to try as many as possible. We had to contact Rosa a few times during our two weeks with little queries about the area and she always answered immediately and was immensely friendly and helpful. She also allowed us to stay in house after normal check out time on our last day because we had a late flight home.
We used the sunny roof terrace quite a lot and enjoyed our breakfast there, but imagine that the beautiful walled garden and it's shady areas would be fabulous in hotter months.
At night by closing wooden shutters the bedrooms became very dark and quiet which was great for sleeping well and both beds were very comfortable.
We adored the old Town's impressive fortifications, huge moat and cobbled alleys and had our favourite meals/drinks at Mangos, Ouzokafenes, Socrateous gardens and Romeos, as well as places in other areas on our travels around the island including a small hillside taverna in Appollina village, where we ate with all locals celebrating May Day and where the Chef is passionate about local organic produce.
We found the people in Rhodes to be polite, welcoming, warm, kind, friendly and interested and had many great conversations about life there.
It was very hard to leave Secret Garden house and we would most definitely go back.

Ein schöner Ort für den Aufenthalt in/auf Rhodos
Nach einer entspannten Buchung & Kommunikation mit Dora & Rosa konnten wir 14 Tage einen wunderschönen Urlaub auf Rhodos genießen. Wir haben immer einen Parkplatz vor dem Altstadttor gefunden.
Bei unserer Ankunft hat uns Rosa schon erwartet & uns sogar bei unserem Gepäck geholfen.
Das Haus & der Garten sind wunderschön und durch die perfekte Lage am Rand der Altstadt ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um abends die vielen, leckeren Tavernen & Bars zu erkunden.
Wie schon einige in den Rezensionen erwähnten, stören die anliegenden ‚Etablissements‘ überhaupt nicht.
Es stehen genügend frische Handtücher & Bettwäsche zur Verfügung.
Von der Dachterrasse hat man eine wundervolle Sicht.
Rosa ist eine zuvorkommende Gastgeberin.
Wir können die Unterkunft wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Old town was very interesting and Welcoming House was in a great location from which to walk it. Good to be fairly close to a gate, as pulling luggage across the old cobble stones wasn't as bad as it could have been. Loved the garden area and the hosts were so nice...even met us at the gate to guide into the place.

Toller Urlaub
Wir waren eine Woche in dem zauberhaften Appartement von Dora und Rosa,
Beide Damen sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist fantastisch, nicht weit zum Parkplatz (Autofreie Altstadt) und mittendrin. Läden und Restaurants alle fussläufig und die Altstadt selbst ist wirklich wunderschön.

We stayed as a family of 5, with three kids aged 14, 9 and 4. Awesome little house right within Old Town walls, great garden with flowers and fruit trees! Best of all, though, is Rosa - the de-facto host! She was a blessing in disguise, helping out on everything from a celebratory bouquet to taxis, travel guidance, and all the little things we needed along the way)) Rosa, a hug from us all - you made our stay a resounding success))) one little minor issue - the place doesn't have a microwave, which could come in real handy with kids. Other than that - top grade, if you're looking for a cozy stay within a walking distance from literally everything in Old Town and a minute walk to the taxis and buses!

Great garden apartment in fabulous location
All amenities were close by and yet the apartment was a tranquil retreat right in the middle of the medieval old town. The garden was a wonderful addition to the rental and it was so nice to wake up and have breakfast outside. The apartment had everything we needed and the owner was extremely helpful and kind. Would highly recommend.

Entspannter Urlaub mitten in historischer Altstadt
Das historische Haus und der Garten wurde liebevoll renoviert und möbliert und entspricht den Fotos. Rosa die Vermieterin ist sehr bemüht und zuvorkommend und war uns bei allen Dingen behilflich insbesondere bei unserem Problem mit den Motorollern. Wir haben den großen Garten und die Terrasse sehr genossen. Es gibt in Rhodos einen super Fischmarkt in dem wir die Fische zum Grillen im Garten geholt haben. Das Nachtleben mit Bars und Clubs ist auch schnell erreicht. Alles im Haus ist funktionsfähig und sehr sauber.Zusätzliche Handtücher und Bettwäsche wurde auch kostenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt.Nochmals Dank an Rosa für den schönen Urlaub

Gioiello nella Old Town
L’abitazione si trova nel cuore della città vecchia di Rodi ed è racchiusa tra affascinanti mura medioevali. È il frutto di una attenta ristrutturazione, che ha valorizzato l’immobile, rendendolo molto funzionale ed esteticamente gradevole. Bellissimo il giardino segreto nella corte interna. La dolce brezza di Rodi entra agevolmente nella casa, rendendola fresca anche nelle ore più calde. Molto disponibile ed efficiente la proprietaria, che ha predisposto al meglio tutto ciò di cui potevamo avere bisogno nel corso del nostro soggiorno.

Als wir abends angekommen sind hat Rosa schon auf uns gewartet. Wie vorgeschrieben natürlich mit Maske (Corona). Ein kleines Wilkommenspaket mit ein paar Lebensmitteln stand bereit.
Das Haus war sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet.
Rosa war für uns immer ansprechbar, bei kleinen Problemen sofort vor Ort und selbst als ich Krank wurde hat sie mir einen Arzt gesucht und mich persönlich hingebracht.

A little gem
A little oasis of piece in the bustle of the the old town. Booking was easy and the communication with Rosa and Dora was first rate. Any query we had was dealt with promptly and professionally. A word of warning, bring good shoes, the cobbled streets can take their toll.

Lovely place, love to come again !
Being a frequent visitor to Rhodes for the last 30+ years, this house was a nice experience ! Located just a short walk from the St Francicus gate we were met by Rosa who explained everything about the property. The house and garden are really nice ! So if you want to stay in the Rhodes old town, this is a good place to stay. And to Rosa and Dora... Keep up the good work !

This beautiful classic house is situated in the Old town. It has the most beautiful private and secluded garden that you can eat in and relax.the garden has early Greek and Roman decorative items.
The house is equipped with every modern convenience that you need and there is a wonderful terrace on the first floor which is ideal for sunbathing.
Rosa the owner is the most charming and helpful person you could meet and she can advise you on most things.
This haven is a must and one I shall definitely return to.

I can rekommend this house to everybody who wants to live in the middle of old town and have a Good night sleep. There is everything in the house and it is middle of everything. Garden is amazing.

the accommodation was very appropriate and the equipment of all kinds was exceptional
good stay with a reservation which has nothing to do wth the property but with the local conditions: during the period november - april everything in the medieval town is closed, shops, restaurants etc. which renders the stay fairly disappointing, the same applies to many sites all over the island, a very serious damper on the attractivity of the destination.

The emotion of living in this paradise within the old city can not be described but only lived
We are a big family: 2 adults and 3 children who cried when we had to leave the house and its beautiful secret garden! We stayed for 2 weeks and everything was perfect. The house is cared for in detail and clean, equipped with everything you need and the garden is a corner of paradise. Nestled in bougainvilleas and citrus fruits, we enjoyed dinners under the pergola and the company of cats, characteristic of this city and that our children loved right away, was the perfect touch for us we love animals. The experience of living within the old city is unique. Rhodes old town has something magic and all the island is surrounded by dream beaches. For those who rent a car the location of the house is optimal because a free parking is available just outside the walls, a few steps from the house.
We were greeted by Rosa, adorable and friendly, with a snack of well-arrived. She helped us with our luggages and we kept in touch for any need during our staying (advice on beaches, restaurants, places to visit). She's a wonderful woman!
This place has entered in our heart and surely we will return, even for a weekend.

wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt
Was kann es Schöneres geben als einen ausgesprochen ruhigen Ort aber dennoch innerhalb der alten Mauern? Unser Auto parkt nur drei Min. weg, aber von der Wohnung aus ist jedweder Trubel innerhalb der Stadt in ein paar Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Dennoch ist man/frau auch ebenso schnell wieder "zu Hause" und kriegt von dem ganzen Rummel überhaupt nichts mehr mit, kann sich stattdessen auf einer der drei Terassen oder den kleinen Garten zurückziehen. Die Wohnung war schön, liebevoll eingerichtet, bot alles Notwendige, und bei Fragen stand uns Rosa schnell zur Seite. Wir kommen bestimmt noch einmal wieder und geben die Fünf-Sterne-Bewertung mit einem sicheren und zufriedenem Gesamteindruck.

EINFACH ZAUBERHAFT
Wenn man Rhodos Stadt erleben möchte ist dieses idyllische Kleinod einfach perfekt. Am Rande der Altstadt gelegen ist alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Schnell ist man mitten im Trubel und beim nach Hause kommen wartet der Garten wie eine Oase der Ruhe und der Erholung. Rosa ist eine außergewöhnlich hilfsbereite Gastgeberin die uns jede Frage sei es Lokale oder Taxi superschnell beantwortet hat. Wenig einpacken, das Haus hat eine super Waschmaschine! Ich empfehle dieses Haus sehr gerne! Auch für 2 Familien ist es möglich zusammen zu kommen. Rosa bietet noch ein Haus an, das an diesen Garten angeschlossen ist. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher wieder!

Super schöner, erholsamer Urlaub!!!
Wir waren mit dem liebevoll eingerichteten Haus von Rosa und Dora sehr zufrieden.
Rosa hat uns, wie besprochen, pünktlich am Treffpunkt eingesammelt und uns zum Haus begleitet und uns alles Wichtige gezeigt.
Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Alle Etagen sind mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet.
Außerdem liegt das Haus sehr zentral in der Altstadt von Rhodos.
Alles ist fußläufig super zu erreichen.
Von dieser Stelle nochmals vielen Dank, das wir in diesem entzückenden Haus unseren Urlaub verbringen durften!

Entry into the Old Town is via San Francisco Gate, across medieval fortifications and through old city walls - just beautiful and everything within very easy walking distance. House itself has been lovingly restored and maintained in a very pretty walled garden with fresh orange and lemon trees and remnants of original garden layout and architecture. Particularly loved airy master bedroom which opens onto large private terrace with sun loungers and table and chairs - ate up there a lot and really enjoyed rather eclectic view across Old Town (satellite dishes to medieval church remains). Property well stocked with useful things on arrival and nearest mini and supermarkets very close. Peaceful, comfortable, clean and Rosa and Dora could not have been more helpful before, during and after. Almost don't want to post this as means more people will know about this lovely place, but given how much we enjoy a castle and a crenellation, would feel bad if deprived others equally inclined. Just wonderful!

Schöner Urlaub in einem wunderbaren Haus
Wir hatten die Chance, für zwei Wochen im Oktober noch nach etwas Sommer auf Rhodos zu schnappen. Eine Woche davon verbrachten wir in diesem liebenswerten Haus in der Altstadt von Rhodos.
Buchung und Übergabe waren absolut problemlos. Die Vermieterinnen sind ausgesprochen freundlich, nett und zuvorkommend. Weil das Haus nicht direkt mit dem Auto angefahren werden kann, hatten wir einen Treffpunkt vor den mittelalterlichen Mauern der Stadt vereinbart. Parkplätze findet man direkt vor den Stadtmauern (das war tatsächlich unproblematisch). Allerdings waren wir auch in der Nach-Saison vor Ort - wie das zwischen Juni und August aussieht, wissen wir nicht ;-)
Pünktlich auf die Minute war die Vermieterin da und begleitete uns zum Haus (und trug dabei noch den Koffer unserer Tochter...). Ein kleines Begrüßungspaket mit Kaffee, Tee, Gebäck, Wein und Früchten stand in der Küche bereit.
Das Haus selber liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße, die nicht von Tages-Touristen frequentiert wird - die Entfernung zur Stadtmauer beträgt etwas unter 100 Meter. Das Haus ist liebevoll über zwei Etagen eingerichtet, im Erdgeschoss und im Obergeschoss gibt es jeweils zwei kleine Schlafzimmer. Auf beiden Etagen außerdem ein Duschbad nebst WC. Die Küche ist komplett und ausreichend eingerichtet, die meiste Zeit sind wir aber Essen gegangen... Im Obergeschoss gibt es eine schöne Dachterrasse zum Sonnen, im Erdgeschoss einen wunderschön angelegten Garten, der Schatten spendet (aber leider auch Mücken anlockt, Spray nicht vergessen...).
Restaurants, Cafes und Bars sind nur wenige Meter entfernt. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Altstadt von Rhodos sind schnell per Fuß errreicht.
Alles in allem: Eine klare Empfehlung, wer in der Stadt und trotzdem etwas abseits vom Trubel sein will.
Ach ja: Im Garten schauen auch einmal Katzen vorbei. Do not feed them ;-).

Quiet oasis in the centre of Old Town
Two houses in the old town near the St. Francis Gate where once in a week an open market takes place. The owner, Rosa, is a very gentile person and takes care of you. Very nice furnished, clean, friendly, sunny and practical with dishwasher, washing machine etc. Nice garden with lemon trees, flowers and barbecue. We will come again, sure!

Bellissima
Bellissima abitazione nuova ristrutturata da poco dentro al centro medievale. Non troppo lontana dalle mura diventa comoda visto che i parcheggi sono fuori ed a 2 minuti dal centro di Rodi.
Unico neo il vialetto che porta alla casa non è dei più belli ma è poca cosa se pensiamo all'enorme giardino che questa casa ha a disposizione.

Un havre de charme et de paix
Cette maison est un écrin paisible au cœur de la vieille ville , à la chaleur des vieilles pierres..
Sa configuration est parfaite pour 4 pers et indépendamment des éléments de confort sa décoration et son jardin lui donnent un charme particulier.
Enfin la propriétaire ou son maie et assistante sont disponibles et pleines d'attentions délicates.
