Situated in Casa De Oro-Mount, this charming house for $125 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This newly remodeled Safari Cabin is your ticket to a relaxing vacation in the exciting Southern California area. This large master suite and living space with kitchen sleeps 4, with 1 queen bed , 1 sofa bed. You will have a private locked entrance and parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles. New Queen Serta Perfect Sleeper Elkins II Eurotop Plush has Cool Twist Gel Memory Foam and 825 Custom Support Coil System for those that enjoy a firmer mattress. There is a Costco 4" Memory Foam Topper for those that want to feel like they are sleeping on a cloud. We can have the bed made to your choice, just let us know in advance. Enjoy this beautiful 750 Sqft space with log-wood paneling, vaulted ceilings, private bathroom and large walk-in closet. The cabin also includes your summer entertainment with games, movies, wifi, boogie boards, and more upon request! This cabin is located at the back of the main house and you will have shared access to the Pool, Jacuzzi, and Patio with a Gas Fire Pit, lounge area, and access to the BBQ. Please be courteous of the homeowner, access to these shared spaces can be withdrawn at anytime. Cabin lays on a quiet street that is close to major freeways and 20 minutes from the San Diego Zoo, Beaches, parks, lakes and the Gas-lamp Quarter. Neighborhood is quiet, quaint and friendly with no traffic so you can enjoy the front of the house and large yard with kids. Easy access to main roads and highways. Also near Lake Murray which has amazing recreation with great fishing, bike paths, hiking and beautiful sunsets. Access to the entire cabin and outside parking. Parking is limited to only 2 cars. We have security cameras outside to monitor parking as well as keep an eye on security. Sleeping Arrangements: Master Bedroom: 1 Queen Bed, Private Vanity, Shared shower area Living Room: 1 Sofa Bed (Sleeps 2), TV Guess Access: Access to the entire cabin, not the house or the garage, private locked entrance, 2 parking spaces with security camera and motion detecting lights. We let you enjoy the cabin without bugging our guests, but please let us know if there is anything you need. We will get back to you quickly. We will check in with you upon arrival and will be available by cell phone or text if you have any questions or concerns during your stay. We want to create a space for you to relax and enjoy your time. Of course we will be available if you need us, our hope is that our cabin would be a relaxing place for you to create lasting memories with your friends or family. Security Deposit - if you damage the home, you may be charged up to $100

Clean, comfortable, cozy cabin, conveniently located twenty minutes from downtown. Peaceful property and nice neighborhood. Stores and restaurants are close. Property owner is a great communicator. Great deal overall. Would recommend to a couple or family with 1-2 kids. Would (and hopefully will) return.

We recently came from Kalamazoo, Michigan to chase the sun and take a family trip. After canceling a stay at a Hilton in Carlsbad, our family decided to book this amazing place and head to San Diego. My husband and I, & our 6 year old son found this awesome guest house. 😀 The location is excellent and the property has everything you need, but you won’t need much because the property has it all. It was clean, comfortable and very spacious. We stayed during cooler times, so we weren’t able to rake advantage of the pool or the hot tub, but it was lit up beautifully at night. We were there for adventures, and we’re pleased with how close it was to San Diego. We spent one day downtown and on Coronado Island, one day at Legoland (✅ off the bucket-list) and had so much fun. 🥳The yard is breathtaking and everyday I woke up and was reminded about my time living in Hawaii - loved seeing the birds of paradise plants just outside the window. Sandy was an exceptional host, responding promptly when needed. She went above and beyond- so much that she did things for us that other hosts wouldn’t have done, and we were grateful.🙏 We highly recommend you book the Safari Cabin and we hope to be back someday again. This cabin is an ideal vacation rental: quiet location with dedicated parking, comfortable beds and linens, fully equipped kitchen, generous offerings to help a traveler (coffee, snacks, games, etc), access to a pool and jacuzzi, and especially attentive, accommodating and caring hosts. We've been there twice and will return again!

The hosts were very very friendly and accessible -- even greeting us at the door for a very late arrival. We really felt welcomed and appreciated their generous hospitality.

Lovely welcoming couple. Accommodated our requests without hesitation. Enjoyed the pool since temps were in the 90’s. Really appreciated the motion sensor lighting. We came back late some evenings and could easily see our way.

I stayed for the entire month of July. Sandy and Paul have really thought out what their guests need. Every conceivable item whether in the kitchen or in the bath was provided. The landscaping both in the front guest area and in their pool area was meticulous, beautiful, and lush. Take your binoculars because it’s a natural Bird sanctuary. You feel as so you are in a Woodland fantasy yet you’re only minutes away from the city. Didn’t bring a beach towel that’s OK they provide plenty. Forgot the corkscrew they had one available. Want to just relax they’re streaming service on their TV was perfect. The hosts were gracious and accommodating. Various times I had my nieces or great nieces over to use the pool. They felt like they were at a resort. Highly recommend it for singles, couples or families.

Had a great week-long stay, and Sandy was wonderful! Her puppies were sweet and the property was amazing. My daughter loved all of the stuffed cats. She was in heaven. The jacuzzi was a godsend after long days of being on our feet and walking. Highly recommended!

Comfy Mt Helix retreat
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Cabin, a well-provisioned, comfortable retreat in a very quiet location in La Mesa. The hosts have thought of everything for a traveller: snacks, extra linens & towels, kitchenware for every need, access to the hot tub and pool, dedicated parking with automatic lights at night, and delicious oranges from their tree as a special extra! The Goldens were very attentive and helpful hosts, and we would stay there again.

My husband, daughter and I stayed in this lovely home. The property is beautiful and the owners dogs and cats are friendly. My 3 year old loved the cat theme, bean bags and all the toys available to play with. We only wish we had more time to swim in the pool.

All the luxury, comfort and amenities you could dream of in this spacious one-bedroom, one-bath Caseta. Only wish the weather had been nicer so we could have used the pool and enjoyed the Hawaiian inspired backyard! Will book again if we are in the area again.

Wonderful Stay
The property is so tropical looking outside and inside looks modern and clean yet with an outdoorsy feel. The homeowners are very kind and helpful. There were little extras all over that were offered and supplied. My daughter said she wished we lived there! The pool and spa were beautiful. We adored the pets. We would book with this property in a minute. Also want to add that we felt so much safer there than we would have in a time like this (pandemic) at a hotel. Feels homy and Sandy provided cleaning products and so I was able to clean everything constantly just like I do at home right now. My family and I very much got the vacation we needed there. Such nice people we love San Diego and La Mesa, CA plus Mt. Helix and that neighborhood is just so cool. It has views out of this world! The scenery is gorgeous 😍. Highly recommend property. We loved our stay! This VRBO was the most well stocked of any we’ve ever stayed at. There were so many kind things provided like the snacks, K-cups, vanity items, shower items, and more. It was very clear of the care and kindness of the owners. The couch and the bed were super comfy and tho hot tub was wonderful after a long day walking at the park. We especially loved the dogs too as we always miss ours when we’re out of town...super sweet. This way a perfect stay, very peaceful and was centrally located between downtown and the Wild Animal Park. Thanks for everything! We hope to come back soon!!

Beautiful home away from home!
This property is just beautiful! Open and comfortable, spacious and bright. Our hosts, Sandy and Paul were so welcoming and gracious. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked! We were able to make quick breakfasts and full dinners for our family with ease. The hot tub was perfect for our 5 yr. old and 3 yr. old grandchildren to play and be supervised and the lovely patio accommodated our family easily. The owner's pets were charming and sweet. Our grandson now has a new best fur buddy. We will be returning to this lovely home whenever we can! Thank you Sandy and Paul!

Nice clean quiet well stocked property in great location
1. Great easy to use TV and cable with lots of free movie channels and very comfy recliner sofas.

3. Standard queen bed spring mattress with 3 inch memory foam topper. On the soft side. We prefer firmer mattress.
4. Nicely remodeled. Spacious for a one bedroom unit.
5. Nice large shower.
6. Has ceiling fans in bedroom and living room. And AC in bedroom.
7. Has pool (70 degrees) which was too cold to swim in in October, but nice attached heated jacuzzi spa.
8. Only 1.5 mile drive down to Sharp Hospital and Grossmont mall. And only 20 min drive to Whole Foods and downtown San Diego.
9. Owners were very nice and great about providing anything we needed, but also gave us our privacy.
10. Kitchen well stocked: nice pots and pans, blender, Keurig coffee maker, spices, condiments.

Peaceful Setting
This property turned out to be the perfect location as it was a few blocks from our daughter’s house. We love the Mt. Helix area - quiet and lovely. The size was perfect for the 2 of us but also had enough room to host our 2 grand kids one night on the pullout bed. I loved that the house stayed cool. I think we put the air on one night just for a bit but otherwise just slept with the windows open. My husband felt the bed was a little too soft for his comfort but I thought it was fine (depends on your taste I guess). Sandy and Paul were perfect property managers. They welcomed us and were there for any questions but we didn’t even know they were next door. The pool and yard were great for relaxing by and we certainly enjoyed the company of little Roxy and Tripod.

Amazing private relaxing get away!
Our experience staying at the Mount Helix was amazing. I found this pool side cozy cabin for my sister, niece and I for a short relaxing stay in California. As soon as we entered on to the property and home the owners made us feel comfortable and safe. It was reassuring that the property owners were on site in case of any situations that may arise. The cabin was clean and had all the ammenities we needed. The back yard was private and quite, which obtained a large pool as well as a heated jacuzzi, fire pit, grill and relaxing outdoor furniture. The owners gave us the privacy as if we were at our own home and welcomed my family to visit to enjoyed our time together. I would definitely stay at this amazing property again when I return to this California area. The property owners were courtesy, friendly and made our stay exceptional. Our greatest thanks to them!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we didn’t even use all of the features that were available. It was comfortable, quiet, spacious, had beautiful outdoor scenery, was beautifully decorated, was in a convenient location, and contained everything needed including a complete kitchen. The owner was very hospitable and an excellent communicator from the time we made the reservation. I will be recommending to friends.
