We found everything that we would find in our own home, you name it, it was there. Even serial and fruit and yoghurt.
Full laundry and a host of kitchen appliances. The outside feature of lawn and seating was really great area to sit and sip a cool beer. Many thanks

I couldn't rate the hosts, just saw the lady for a few minutes when we arrived. I was still trying to get out of our vehicle but she was nice. I loved the place and hope that it will be available for when I next need to be in Whakatane. It is beautiful. I couldn't fault anything.
Yes that's the trouble in attracting other travellers - I may not be able to stay here again because it will always be booked out when I want it. Will have to wait and see. I have already thought of returning there soon.

This is a very spacious and comfortable unit with everything we needed for our stay. The supplied continental breakfast was good and we would happily stay here again.
The shower is over the bath so you do need to take care stepping in and out.

We arrived late at night. Our wonderful hosts left lights on and had heat pump on to ensure it was nice and warm when we arrived.

I came with my daughter for a Mother's day get together. Breakfast was perfect for our taste, the rooms were very nicely appointed. Great heatpump, warmed us up perfectly. Lovely garden and sitting area outside. Everthing was explained. Great Hosts indeed.
Only problem was the condensation in the bathroom, doors dripping with water even when windows opened and fan having been deployed as requested. The frames and edges were dirty with mould on all the window edges. Windows clean though except bathroom and toilet ones which were very mouldy, just edges having been missed regularly on the other ones as well. I cleaned them to the best I could with limited success.

A great location, friendly helpful hosts. The unit had everything you could possibly need to self cater and breakfast included. A carport to park in and a lovely covered outdoor seating area were a bonus.

it was a spacious comfortable suite, opening to a beautiful private back yard. the kitchen was well stocked and Sandra and Doug were the best hosts you could ask for. They gave us lots of good advice, especially about the coming cyclone and we were able to stay an extra two days to avoid the storm. A lovely short walk led us to the huge beach and very friendly locals to visit. The community was very quiet, away from the main town but only a short drive from all the amenities and sites.

What a lovely, quiet, spacious and well appointed retreat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will gladly recommend it to friends headed this way. In particular, we appreciated the breakfast items and little snack extras provided by gracious hosts, Doug and Sandra, and loved the tastefully furnished patio & expansive lawn area. The apartment was located in very pleasant, quiet, semi-rural surroundings just outside the town itself and very close to a beach. Whakatane is a beautiful, very tidy town with ample dining venues & amenities, scenic sights and lookouts within easy reach and a wonderful, safe surf beach on the other side of town. The eastern end of the Bay of Plenty is well worth visiting - really a must for anyone visiting New Zealand!
Next to nothing - TV reception wasn't strong, but only completely failed on one occasion. Wifi was fine.

Beautiful roomy and relaxing space with well equipped kitchenette, bathroom, laundry,living area and comfortable bedroom. Everything is spotlessly clean. Great hosts who are both welcoming and informative, close to the beach, Whakatane and various Bay of Plenty attractions. A great place to stay and relax.

The accommodation is located about 400m from the beach. One sleeps there very quietly. The equipment, especially the kitchen, is complete. It is very spacious. The price-performance ratio is very good. The hosts took great care of us, as it rained about 80% of the time during our stay. They recommended a trip with a miniature railway ("Awakeri Rail Adventures"). There we were alone with the operator Paul, because of the weather. Afterwards, if it rains, you can go to the "Hot Pools" in Awakeri.
The outdoor seating, which is covered, should be mentioned positively against the background of rainy weather. All in all, we had lovely days in this accommodation, despite the weather.

Booked this on behalf of my husband who was in Whakatane on business. Said it was very clean, quiet, convenient for work. Friendly and helpful staff. He has stayed here before and would definitely book again.

Extremely spacious, well-equipped and comfortable apartment set in an intriguing garden in a quiet coastal area about 3 km from the city. Friendly hosts. Very convenient covered parking, complimentary breakfast provisions and snacks, and excellent laundry facilities. Highly recommended.

Our apartment was so spacious and comfortable, inside and out, with every convenience. We were in a lovely quiet neighbourhood just a short walk to the beach, and close to all our Bay of Plenty explorations. Sandra and Doug made us so comfortable and were able to keep us two extra days during the cyclone and help us figure out what we should do and even supplied extra jigsaw puzzles for entertainment.
