Prachtige plek midden in het stadje. Zeer schoon! Airco en wasmachine aanwezig.Alles super goed geregeld. Leuke eigenaar, zeer vriendelijk. Zouden er zo weer heen gaan. Aanrader ook als je een dag naar Venetië wil gaan dan stap je in Chioggia op de boot en heerlijke tocht over het water van 1,5 uur👌

El Capitan de Mar in Chioggia is a fantastic place to stay, especially if you enjoy space, views, and being close to the historic center while still having easy access to the lagoon and the beach.
The apartment is spacious and very comfortable, with a well‑designed living area and separate bedrooms that make it ideal for both couples and families. The terrace and balcony are real highlights, offering beautiful views over the canal/lagoon and the rooftops of Chioggia – perfect for a quiet breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening.
The location is excellent: only a short walk from the old town, restaurants, and shops, yet in a quieter area so you can relax away from the busiest streets. Sottomarina beach is within easy reach (around 1.5–1.8 km), so you can combine city walks with a proper day at the sea.
The apartment has air conditioning and free Wi‑Fi, which worked reliably and made both work and relaxation easy.
The kitchen is well equipped, so cooking meals at home is straightforward, which is very convenient for longer stays.
Everything was clean and well maintained, from the bathroom to the common areas, giving the whole place a very welcoming feel.
The host Paolo is friendly and helpful, with smooth check‑in and clear communication even before we arrived to Chioggia, which makes arrival and departure stress‑free. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, more like a private home than an anonymous hotel, and the good guest ratings across several platforms reflect that consistency.
To summarize:
If you are looking for a bright, roomy apartment with a great view, easy access to Chioggia’s center, and the option to reach the beach or even Venice (via Pelestrina and Lido islands) without needing the car every time, el Capitan de Mar is an excellent choice that I would gladly book again.
