Rented this unit for 10 days over Christmas 2020. 5 people staying there, all adult family. Fairly nice place, spacious enough for 5, but would be cramped for 10, as listed. Also found it to be very expensive. And, several issues. First, a few things that should be clarified in the listing: it is a second floor unit, up 17 or 18 stairs. Might be hard on some. Also, parking -- there is no way to fit three cars in the garage and driveway, unless you have tiny cars. Very narrow tandem garage. We had a mid size, and a compact, SUV, the two of which filled the entire garage. Outside of the garage is only about 6 feet of usable "driveway" before a red no parking stripe. So, no parking there. If you have a full-size SUV, forget it. You won't fit in the narrow garage. Also, hardly any additional parking on the street the house is on. I never saw a free spot. So you'll have to park a block or two away. Next, minor, but there was food in the refrigerator -- random salsas in mystery styro containers, etc -- that I had to throw away, and then clean the fridge, as it needed it. But one of the more important frustrations was in the kitchen. Although the appliances are very nice, there is almost nothing to cook with -- old pots and pans with the teflon flaking off, one small baking dish, old stuff. The utensils were terrible -- burned, melted, chipped, etc. And the knives? So dull that they were unusable. If you are cooking for 5 people for 10 days, at these prices, you should expect way better than this. It would behoove the landlord to pony up a few hundred bucks and get your renters some decent cookware, knives, and utensils. Also -- hot water is tankless, and at the other end of the house -- takes forever to get hot water in the kitchen - 5 minutes or more. This also impacts dishwasher performance -- make sure you have hot water going to the kitchen before running. Dishwasher only worked well by doing this, and running on "high temp wash". Finally, this unit has some petty, nitpicky, unpleasant neighbors. We were on the outside deck with guests -- 9 people total -- eating dinner, at 7:30 pm on the Wednesday before Christmas Eve. No party, just people eating and having a conversation. Someone called in a noise complaint - at 7:30 pm. TWICE within an hour. The Police Officer who responded to the calls was very nice, and agreed that we were not causing a nuisance. But watch out. So, with that being said, we had a nice time. Just beware what I listed above.

Experience was ok, however a bit disappointing. It is listed as “pet friendly” so if anyone has ANY animal allergies at all, please reconsider. Something in this place made my eyes completely swell up. I have a dog (and he was with us there for a week)but I don’t have any allergic problems with him, so I’m not sure what I could have had a reaction to. We had to leave early because I couldn’t get any relief from the itch and swelling in my eyes. When we arrived there was a car parked in our garage so we couldn’t park our cars right away. The police came because we had to park in the street to unload. Place appeared clean and beds were comfortable. The freezer never froze anything . Ice melted and food remained cold, but soft. A large picture over the master bed fell down in the middle of the night scaring us half to death. Velcro didn’t hold up apparently. Location was ok but a longer walk to the beach than expected and there are zero views of the ocean from duplex. Roof top gathering area with grill is not super useful since you have to go through the master bedroom to get there. It is not outside the kitchen or family room. Grill needs to be cleaned and there needs to be better cleaning utensils for it. Washer and dryer are shared with duplex neighbors, and that should be noted. Lots of early morning construction going on around this neighborhood. We have stayed in many homes (Hermosa and Manhattan Beaches) with same or less price point but Newer and in better condition and in more enviable locations. We treat our rentals homes the way we treat our own home here in AZ., with much care. This home needs more care.

This is a great place to stay when visiting Hermosa Beach! It's a short walk down to the Hermosa pier, and also a short walk up to PCH, with a Trader Joe's, breakfast cafe, and other places nearby. The master bedroom is amazing, with a nice bathroom, spa tub, and a roof deck. The bunk bed room has four beds, great for kids or people that don't mind sharing a room, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to make breakfast.
