Location is fantastic with incredible views

The location is set away from the main roads with views over a moor. The food is excellent and yoy certainly get whet (maybe more) than you pay for. Portiobs are big. The cabins are a nice size, some having hot tubs.....which is a must after walking miles at Alton Towers. The staff are lively and very helpful. This was our secobd stay here, and will certainly be staying again in the future on our return to Alton.
Some of the fittings could be better maintained eg heating thermostat very old and fell off the wall when i tried to turn heating off. Some of the trimmings could be tidied up/renewed eg around shower basin. These are wooden cabins, so it has to be understood that there may be some minor cosmetic issues.

The location was nice, and the staff at the pub was nice and helpful.
This was our honeymoon and when I asked if they could offer anything special they said I would have to pay more. We choose this because it said it was peaceful and quiet, this was not the case for the whole time we were there, we had chainsaws cutting the trees and strimmers. Not exactly relaxing especially when you’re in the hot tub and the workers can see you. We had to go out everyday to get away from the noise. We was given nothing more than the key when we first arrived, no information about facilities etc. On leaving I expressed my issues and thought the manager would come but I was told it will be passed on and they would be in touch, this never happened! To say it was meant to be special occasion we couldn’t wait to go relax somewhere else.
