About this bed and breakfast
Located in Lakeland, this lovely bed and breakfast for $99 per night is a great option for your next break. This well appointed efficiency apartment, off the property's main house, gives you a sense of living in a tree house on the banks of the coveted St. Croix river. Wake up to gorgeous sunrises from a comfortable queen bed. A nearby full size futon couch can accommodate two more guests. This apartment offers a great place to relax after a day of exploring quaint river towns such as Bayport, Stillwater, and Afton on the Minnesota side or Hudson and Prescott on the Wisconsin side. Or, simply enjoy the natural surroundings of our many area parks and trails. Situated above the Lakeland public beach, renters can make the easy hike down the path, below the apartment, to enjoy the river. Two kayaks are available for your use. A large shared deck invites you to relax outside. Eagle sightings are common at all times of the years and in the spring you’ll love the chorus from the many tree frogs that inhabit the area. Use the gas grill for a riverside BBQ or relax around the fire pit! This property is on the second floor and access is via an outside set of stairs. This apartment has a bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Towels are included. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, microwave/convection oven, counter top 2 burner induction stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and necessary dishes and utensils to make a scrumptious meal. Conveniently located just 15 minutes from downtown St. Paul and 25 minutes to the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The Bungalow supper club is less than a block away and offers great food at a reasonable price. With the Friday fish fry and Karoke, Saturday afternoon Bingo and Prime Rib Dinner, and a great Sunday brunch buffet, you'll never need to drive or cook once you arrive should that be your choosing. Come relax and enjoy the best of MN river living! Great place to stay for the price. Close access to I94 into the cities or easy cross over to Hudson, WI. Because of the closeness to I94 there is a constant highway sound if you’re sitting outside on the deck but not noticeable inside. Studio apartment layout worked well for us. I would suggest a light dimmer switch as most of the lights are all on one switch.

First - This was a great location near Stillwater and Hudson- quiet and convenient. The place is cozy but efficient . The host is an excellent communicator and is very responsive to messages. Which was helpful since we had a problem with an oder in the room. The bed is comfortable, but could use some new sheets since there was some pilling. The set - up inside is great for a couple.
I'm a shorter person , so the shower was a bit of a challenge reaching the shower hand held and shower head. Not much counter space in bathroom , but if you have a hanging toiletry bag it works just fine with the extra hooks in room.
There is a path to the river, but if you have mobility issues maybe skip it- bit steep and some parts not in shape. There are kayaks available which is really nice.
The shades inside were a bit hard to use .There are 2 doors and two huge beautiful windows. Make sure the extra door without key pad is locked. Also the extra door has large window (in front of bed )had no shade. Kitchen well stocked. Kitchen has dish soap and two small hotel soaps in bathroom. Ample towels in bathroom.
We loved sitting out on the deck , comfortable patio furniture and nice view.

We enjoyed our stay at A Room With A View in Lakeland, MN. Great views of the St. Croix River & easy to get to Stillwater, MN, where we enjoyed biking, walking & dining out. Also enjoyed hiking at Willow River State Park.

What drew me to the property is the architecture and the location. It's designed efficiently and with a BIG view. The property owners are very open to answering questions and are generous about offering suggestions to made your stay enjoyable.
During our stay we toured (drove) both the St Croix and Mississippi River Valleys. Hudson, Wi and Stillwater were both fun and close for shopping and dining. And the MPLS/St Paul metro area is also only a short distance. In addition we visited a couple of wineries in the area including the oldest winery in MN.
I hope to create more opportunities for another getaway here soon.

Truly enjoyed our stay here. Small but well-appointed and served our needs perfectly. It does require a fair amount of steps to access. Great location - close to shopping and fun nearby things to explore. Gorgeous views. Owners need to invest in some decent bed pillows, but overall no other complaints.

My 18 year old son and I stayed here for a short ski trip to Afton Alps. We eat healthy and wanted to cook our own food so we looked for lodging with a kitchen. This place was perfect and reasonably priced. The kitchen had every pan and appliance that we needed and then some, the beds were comfy, and the location beautiful. Not to mention it was right next to I-94 with restaurants and shopping minutes away. We had a problem with the heater when we arrived and my message was answered within 15 minutes and the problem addressed. Thanks for a great stay, we would definitely stay here again on another trip!

This place is a hidden gem! About 6 minutes at most away from the cute little town of Hudson! Also very close to downtown Stillwater, about 10 mins. The property is very private and an extremely safe location. You can also take steps down to a beautiful beach, a very unique stay. Erin’s communication was clear and such quick responses!!

This property is attached to the main house. It was pretty quiet as it was on a dead end street. The view was really nice overlooking the back yard and the river. The studio apartment was functional, clean and as a solo renter, I felt very safe here. Great communication from the home owners.

The stay was for our 25th wedding anniversary. We used the kayaks on location, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners, who live on the lower level, allowed us to feel like we were there alone much of the time, the view was spectacular and we would recommend it! The only adjustment for us was that we live in a very secluded area that is super-quiet, and with this being close to the overpass...we had to get used to the sound of traffic. Otherwise...loved it! We also plan to return as it's not too bad of a drive for us (3 hrs).

Beautiful piece of property. Location perfect for our Stillwater/Hudson visit. Clean. Quiet. Well appointed. Cannot state enough how beautiful this property and the setting above the river turned out to be. Wish we had more time to stay beyond our two nights. Our experience at the property was wonderful and seamless. We particularly enjoyed the patio that overlooks the St. Croix river. Access to paddle board, kayaks, and beach was so fun and convenient. The location is very close to Hudson and Stillwater.

This is a studio with a beautiful view of the St. Croix from a lovely wooded bluff. Very nice accommodations - clean, well-equipped and conveniently located. Owners are nice and responsive.

We had a nice visit with the kids in this charming guest house. We really appreciated the land and the lake. The guest house has nice modern touches and friendly owners. It had a coffee maker, but that is my one critique in that it was super difficult to operate being that the pods weren’t very compatible. Every thing else was top notch

This was a wonderful place for my husband and I on our weekend getaway! We met at college in River Falls and wanted to return to where it first began. We loved that this was close enough, yet near the river and fun towns like Hudson and Stillwater to dine at and explore!
The hosts were welcoming. Our time was private & peaceful!
I highly recommend this spot for a time of both refreshing an adventure!

Stayed here for several days over New Years. Very clean and cozy with ceiling to floor windows that look out over the La Croix River! Erin was very accommodating, we would definitely stay here again!

We’ve rented quite a few places on HomeAway and my wife and I agree this is our favorite. Furnishings are high end, the view of the river is spectacular and the location is really convenient. It’s close to Stillwater, Hudson And Bayport. Also close to the Twin Cities. Hosts-Erin and Ron are very nice and do a great job. We’d love to stay again.

Very pleasant stay in comfortable flat with all I needed, great mattress, kitchen, great location with view of river and it was fall colors....perfect. Peaceful and comfortable,

Beautiful accommodations with a great view! Unique property nestled quietly along the Minnesota side of the scenic St. Croix River. Busy roads and highways are absent from this immediate surrounding area, making it the quiet and peaceful stay that we really wanted, yet with plentiful amenities, restaurants and shops to enjoy nearby. We loved it! Erin and Ron are truly great people, and should you have questions, they are most accommodating. Thank you Erin and Ron!
