About this cottage rental

Nestled in Castlemaine, this charming cottage for $89 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. You will enjoy our warm and cosy 1850's, one-bedroom miners cottage; complete with supremely comfortable queen bed, colour TV's, a library of books, games, DVD's and videos, and a private BBQ set in our colourful cottage garden. Of course there is reverse cycle split system air conditioning; as well as off street, covered parking. There is a full kitchen, including microwave oven, full cooking range, dishwasher, crockery/cutlery/glassware, and some cooking implements. Also a coffee machine. A full laundry is also available for your convenience. After a busy day out enjoying the many features of historic Castlemaine, (especially since we are located centrally to many of Castlemaine's fine historic homes and CBD, and only 5 mins walk from Castlemaine's wonderful ‘Buda’ homestead), you may choose to enjoy a quiet and cosy night in, relaxing in our antique claw foot bath or listening to our selection of CDs or DVD’s. Come and enjoy all that Castlemaine has to offer whilst enjoying your comfortable, affordable, private accommodation in a very convenient central location. Companion Pets are welcome and the rear yard can be secured. Please give us details when booking.

Well appointed accommodation and very tidy. Comfy bed. TV reception lousy and only a few stations worked. Dish sponge in kitchen could not be found. Well worth the cost.

We loved this little cottage, very cozy and accommodating to our needs. I was a little wary of the step from the lounge into the kitchen as well as getting in out of the shower. Definitely not the place for someone with mobility issues. Enjoyed our stay

We had a very enjoyable stay at this quaint, gorgeous little cottage. Clean, comfortable and cosy. The weather was horrendous when we arrived but the cottage warmed up easily. The attention to detail was great, we had everything we could have wanted, a credit to our hosts. Close to town, but in a quiet area. Great dog friendly accommodation, our 2 Australian Koolies were very settled and had a great time too. We would highly recommend a stay at Ambrose Cottage.

Ambrose Cottage has everything you need and was lovely and cosy and close to everything. There is a step down to the kitchen and bathroom that older people might find difficult (also the shower over the bath) There is a lovely sunny spot to sit and enjoy a coffee out the back and a little BBQ . We were disappointed that we has to cut our stay short due to illness but enjoyed the short time we had at Ambrose Cottage

This cottage was all we needed for an "escape" from communal living!! (Retirement villages are wonderful, but every so often.....) We were very grateful our pet was welcomed. The internal cottage was absolutely spotless, a big tick from fussy old me. Ideally situated, close to Buda, the Wooden Mill, fabulous botanical gardens and great visiting bird life from the kitchen window.

The cottage was cute and cosy and well-supplied. Easy 10 minute walk to town and also handy for the botanic gardens and mill market. We really enjoyed our stay and the hosts were extra helpful and posted my phone charger to me when I realised I had left it behind

Thank you for a delightful stay. The property was tidy and thoughtfully arranged with everything that might be required, from a dog leash to coffee pods and an electric blanket. I really appreciate that pets were allowed and the property is so suitable with space in the enclosed yard to bring a pet without worrying about them. I would certainly recommend this property for anyone who likes creature comforts and bringing their own creatures! Completely practical and perfect! Thanks again very much.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in the cottage. It is set up well, with everything that you would need. It was only a short walk into town or to the Mill, so a great location for us.

There were a few minor repairs that needed doing,ie doors jamming,missing screws, squeaking bed, shower taps tightened,which my partner was happy to fix for you, as he had some tools in the car and was happy to help. Hope you didn't mind. The kitchen step height is a safety issue and would be outside the current guidelines, it wouldn't be that hard to add an additional step. If someone broke a hip, you may be opened to being liable for the dangerous height. We enjoyed our stay. The house was nice and cool on the hot day.

A cute little miners cottage in a very convenient area close to the centre and very quiet. Everything was provided for us to use and the whole house exceptionally clean. A nice large back yard for our dog to investigate. Very enjoyable

We enjoyed our stay at this property, the afternoon sun on the front verandah was lovely and the surrounding streets were very peaceful. We could easily walk to cafes, the botanical gardens, and The Mill.

We had a fabulous stay in Castlemaine. This property has everything you need, location is perfect, house is cozy, bed is comfy, and it has all the mod cons you need to make the getaway as stress free as possible. We were very impressed with the tidiness on arrival, often with older houses you expect a bit of dust and what not, but this was not the case at all here, it was spotless. Little extras included, tea, hot choc, chocolate snack, hygiene products added the cream on top. Would stay again.

Quiet, fairly central, cute, would book again - one concern was the big step down into the kitchen, and the shower in the bath may not suit everyone. Two steps into kitchen would help. Loved the birds ❤
