About this house rental
Poggelow Castle was built in 1848 in the English Tudor style to plans by the architect Friedrich Hitzig, a pupil of Schinkel, and was formerly owned by the well-known von Bassewitz family. Between 1996 and 2004, it underwent extensive restoration, and in 2015 the entire façade was restored. Today, the castle is a listed building and provides the ideal setting for a sophisticated holiday in the countryside or for celebrations of all kinds.
From the castle terrace and balcony, you can enjoy views of a small lake. There is ample space for up to 20 people across a total of seven cosily furnished apartments, each equipped with its own kitchenette. There is also a main kitchen for all guests. The castle is therefore ideal for group trips or a holiday with the extended family. On the ground floor, there is a large dining room which can be used for celebrations or meetings. In the basement, you’ll find a sauna, solarium and fitness room, amongst other facilities. There’s also a billiards room, a large covered terrace and a 32 m² heated, covered swimming pool on the grounds. Here, you can enjoy your holiday with the extended family.
The property is ideal as a wedding venue. Celebrate your very own fairytale wedding here in the castle. A church in Jördenstorf is available for the church wedding ceremony. Afterwards, you can enjoy your wedding reception in a private setting.
Renovation work was carried out in the fitness and billiards rooms in 2017.
The castle is let as a single unit only.
Poggelow lies on the northern edge of Mecklenburg Switzerland in an idyllic rural setting, surrounded by woods and fields – ideal for a horse ride. Why not bring your four-legged friend along! There is space for up to 4 horses in the stable at the castle. The castle is very easily accessible via the A19 and A20 motorways. The journey from Hamburg or Berlin takes around 2.5 hours. It is just under an hour’s drive to the Baltic Sea coast.
Costs for energy, heating oil and water are to be paid on site according to consumption. An advance payment for these must be made on arrival. Final cleaning is also payable on site. Security deposit for youth groups: 2,000 EUR.
Please note that arrival on Sundays and public holidays is not possible.

Wir waren 15 Leute zwischen 3 Monaten und 87 Jahre alt. Hatten alle viel Spaß und genügend Platz. Die Sauberkeit könnte etwas besser sein (Spinnen und deren Spinnenweben überall) unter den Betten und auf den Teppichen war doch auch ganz schön viel Staub/Dreck. Vielleicht soll es auch den Schloss Charakter wiederspiegeln, war aber nicht ganz so schön. Sonst war alles super. Freundliche Schlüsselübergabe und super schöner "Spielekeller".

Wir sind mit unserer Familie mit 17 Personen angereist. Alle waren begeistert, insbesondere wegen der Möglichkeiten der Freizeitgestaltung! Das Wasser im Pool könnte wärmer sein. 26 Grad sind nicht viel, wenn auch noch bedenkt, dass die Schwimmhalle nicht beheizt werden kann und alles verglast ist. Somit fühlt sich alles etwas kühl an. Ansonsten gibt es keine Beschwerden und wir würden sicher noch einmal anreisen

Urlaub mit der Großfamilie. Alterspanne von 2 bis 80 Jahre. Für alle war etwas dabei. Wir haben wirklich eine schöne Zeit verbracht. Tolle indoor und outdoor Aktivitäten.

Rigtig god plads i lejlighederne, fantastisk fælles spisesal. Køkkenet fungerer fint, men upraktisk indrettet og der mangler store gryder. Der er rigeligt af alt, hvad du ellers skal bruge. Rigtig gode aktiviteter i kælderen, men bordtennis batts og pile til dart trænger til fornyelse. Men overordnet kan stedet helt klart anbefales
