Nestled in Soldotna, this charming house for $750 per night is a great option for your next break. Best location on the Kenai River! If you are looking for a home for a group larger than 10, the city of Soldotna has passed an ordanince that, in city limits, we can no longer accommodate groups larger than 10 people. Our home is 4 bed rooms 4 baths. Sleeps 10 ( for larger groups we can open our 5th bedroom for an additional $150 setup fee. The 5th bedroom has its own private bath.) Each bed has a private bath. lots of extra space to relax with a chefs kitchen! Located in the heart of Soldotna with easy access to stores and restaurants. Outdoor space is amazing! With a private dock, lots of covered deck and a fire pit for those fun nights around the campfire. The owners are Kevin & Jill Fraley. They own Riverview Hideaway located next-door . read our reviews if you want to know how all of our past guests have enjoyed this fantastic location! Call us for any questions you may have 19072990507. Here is a description of the layout of the house. Downstairs: Bedroom #1, has a queen bed with a private bath that gives access via hallway to the main living area for restroom use. Bedroom #2 is a master suite with a King bed doors that open to the deck that give beautiful views of the river. Private ensuite with a double custom shower and double sink. On this main floor is a large living room with comfortable seating for 10+with an open floor plan that has a very large chefs kitchen with 36" commercial cook range and double ovens, 10 foot island and coffee bar. Up stairs bedroom #3 is a king bed and a oversized twin bed in the window with private bath with a double shower and a jacuzzi tub. Bedroom #4 has a queen bed and a window bed with a twin this room also has a private bath with a shower. Bedroom #5 (available at an additional setup fee) has the option of 4 twin beds or a king bed with two twins. This room also has its own private bath with shower The loft area has a sectional sofa with a 55” tv and a futon sofa.

We stayed at this house with extended family for my daughter's wedding at a nearby venue. The house was beautiful with breath-taking views. The owner was easy to communicate with and very nice. Each room was spacious and comfortable. The only downside to this house was because of the vaulted ceilings sounds travel and the upstairs bedrooms pick up all noise from early risers talking down stairs. Even with that we would still stay again. Thank you for a great vacation house.

This home is likely the most appealing in all of Soldotna, the property is on a perfect run of the Kenai, with a fishing deck right on the water - though only minutes to grocery stores, restaurants, breweries etc.
We had 5 couples in the group, the layout of this home could not have been more prefect - 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. There was a small extra charge for the 5th bedroom - $150 total, just for setup and linens, this made no difference to us, this was our EPIC vacation and we wanted the extra space. The home is beautifully appointed with a custom kitchen that included every kitchen gadget you could possibly need. The living room is very spacious with comfy leather furniture and a large TV; a few in the group had to catch the Ol' Miss game ya know! The bedrooms are furnished with all high-end furniture and bedding. The bathrooms are exceptionally nice! We actually came away with a few bathroom remodeling ideas.
To be more clear... this is not a cabin, it's a custom home.
Let's go outside now (yes please) as that's where we spent most of our time while there. The back patio is very spacious and is 100% covered, for the little bit of rain we had while there. Lots of patio furniture and the view of the river from the backyard and patio is SOOO DARN beautiful, that our pictures looked photo shopped - not kidding!
I was the master trip planner for a party of 10 adults - if you can imagine, I had plenty of questions from my crew, and bombed Kevin with them all LOL, he was very patient and handled everything with grace. We were fortunate enough to meet Kevin and Jill at the property, as we arrived a bit early while they were still readying the place for our arrival - both very sweet and told us to call or text if we needed anything. Other than more time at this beautiful property, the ONLY need we had the entire trip was a little more dish soap as we did cook there quite a bit and ran out - but again, the store is just 5 minutes away.
A little more kudos for the owners....our flights out of Anchorage weren't until midnight and because there were no other guests arriving that same day, Kevin allowed us to hang out at the house until 6PM, this made all the difference in the world for our last day.
This was a spectacular home and a spectacular first trip to Alaska - we can't wait to come back!

Kevin's property was just perfect for our family, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay on the Kenai River. Every bedroom has a gorgeous view of the Kenai River, but that can be said for nearly any spot in the house. The living room area has a spacious and modern layout which was great for hanging out in, not to mention the deck with the many seating arrangements and firepit to soak in the Kenai River at dusk after a day's worth of fishing on the platforms just below. The private fishing platform was one of the many highlights of our stay - we were able to catch some coho from essentially the backyard of the house. A few guides were drifting their boats, passing by the platform along the riverside that the house is on, which is a clue to the fact that it's a great point for fishing with the added benefit of privacy & convenience of the platform. Bald eagles, gulls, the jumping fish, and even seals added to the splendor of the Alaskan experience.
Still, the house is just 5 minutes drive from town and anything you might need, but that 5 minutes was the difference between the well-to-do city of Soldotna and the idyllic peace & isolation of the Fraley house.

Kevin and Jill were fabulous host, even giving us the pointers on how to fill the coolers with Salmon... 250 pounds worth! Will definitely be back! The house is magnificent and has a very 'high end' feel. Kevin was very good at communicating with us prior to arrival. The location is awesome with direct Kenai river access and very good proximity to Soldotna. One of the best properties you could ever find in Alaska.

Everything about this house was simply awesome beautiful inside and out. The view of the Kenai River is spectacular and Kevin volunteered to give me and my son a tutorial on how to catch salmon and clean them from the dock. This is important Kevin and his wife are not helicopter owners. They were attentive when you asked questions but that is it. Everything you need is there for a wonderful vacation. It was simply Awesome. I cannot say enough good things. Also, take Kevin up on his offer to rent one of his cars. It save me significant coin compared to Turo or a car rental.

We’ve rented VRBOs all over the world and this was the best equipped house by far. Beautiful location and everything you need inside. Soldotna is a great spot for many different day trips and the town has all the amenities and stores you would need.
The one thing I would caution is dealing with Kevin. He’s a neurotic mess, threatening to cancel our stay twice, once on our way to the airport. We originally booked for 10 people and I later emailed him to request the change to 13 which the house stated was their capacity. He called me dishonest for this, which I took offense to, since I emailed him and told him. If I was being dishonest I would never have emailed. Then he flipped out because we had other family members staying in VRBOs nearby and I said they would be at the house as well from time to time for dinner or whatnot. This created a situation where he threatened to cancel our stay and multiple diatribes about how he’s been screwed over by other renters, blah blah blah. He went so far as to demand the addresses and names of our family members staying in Soldotna which was way over the line. Their daily drive-bys and drop ins were excessive and I would definitely classify them as helicopter owners. Our family has a long history in Alaska and we would love to rent this house again but will not because of Kevin. As I said, the house and how they’ve equipped it is top notch and well worth what we paid to stay for 11 days but I would proceed with caution in dealing with the owner. Kevin has made his way into our family’s hearts and will be remembered anytime someone is acting neurotic, aka Kevin, now known as “OK Kevin.”

The house is top notch, comfortable, spacious with beautiful views. The location couldn't be better either. The icing on the cake was that Kevin and Jill made the whole process sooo easy and pleasant. Can't recommend highly enough.

This house was perfect for our thirteen family members. We ranged in age from 73 to 6. It was as perfect for each of us.
The kitchen is soooooo well equipped. We didn’t need to purchase anything but food.
The showers were always hot even wi 13 showering.
We would certainly stay there again.
