Come have a fabulous vacation at the beach in this nicely furnished, comfortable, well equipped, light and airy home. Watch the seagulls play and dolphins swim from the porch swing over looking the Atlantic Ocean. The home has central A/C, 4 cable TVs, fully equipped kitchen, washer and drier, and enclosed outdoor shower. There are 3 queen beds, 1 double, 2 twins as well. We absolutely love our stay. The view was amazing. Spent most of our time on the beach or on their porch. Quick responce from the owner when I had a question. Would love to go back. Highly recommend.

We've wanted to stay at the Whale Tale for years and our trip this past weekend met or exceeded all expectations. Angela's house is spacious, clean, well-appointed, and had such a great vibe. We have stayed beach-front before, but the Whale Tale is next level, due in part to being located on the ocean side of the dunes. We had to doggos with us and the wrap-around porch had gates, giving them free roam and still being safe. The back stairs literally put you ON THE BEACH. So nice for taking them on walks! Our only regret was not getting to stay longer. Wonderful home. Wonderful host!

When we arrived. We where right on the beach. That was the greatest. Beach was not crowded at all the whole time we were there. Loved it. We will be back. Sun rise was the best. We had a great time.

You step off the porch onto the beach. Cant get any closer. Surf fishing was active. Good restaurants in the area.

Older home but still beautiful. Closest we have ever been on the beach. High tide waves went under the house. Really enjoyed ourselves. The only problem was not being able to put our clothes in the dressers. All were full of junk so we couldn’t use them

-Check in was a breeze. -Having linens and towels provided was so helpful. -The host provided many little extras such as toilet paper and paper towels (and requests that you refill enough to get the next guests started, which is really nice), spices, some beach items, etc. The only thing I would have liked to have was a hand mixer (for baking cookies and cakes) and a traditional blender (we usually make homemade milkshakes while we are at the beach). Not a big deal, though. -The host was extremely responsive and offered to make suggestions for restaurants, etc., but was not intrusive at all. -Having a deck that was partly covered and partly open was really nice—and the porch swing was AMAZING!!! -Everything in the house worked as it should. (We did not use the upstairs, so I can’t speak for that part of the house). -The outdoor shower is wonderful. I actually only used the inside one once after is realized how nice the outside one is! -My only suggestion would be replacing some pillows and mattress pads, some of which are stained and look dirty. Overall, the house has everything you need. The host is exceptionally responsive and receptive and will work with you on any questions you have. But the location absolutely can’t be beat. You’re literally ON the beach—the water can come up under the deck during high tide. The beach itself is clean and there is plenty of room to stretch out. We enjoyed our 2 weeks here and the only complaint is that it ended too soon!!

My husband and I and our pup had another wonderful stay at this beach house. This is actually our third stay and only wish it could have been longer! We especially love the covered porch overlooking the ocean, complete with plenty of chairs and a swing! Close to everything. Looking forward to stay number 4! Jeff & Donna A.

Wonderful experience.. everything we needed for a great weekend at the beach . Great location and all the necessities needed for a relaxing weekend....literally right on the beach.. Great experience as far as the booking experience also which went so smoothly. We booked for another visit in a few months ...looking forward to another great time

You can't beat the location of this home. Fantastic views, close to restaurants, shops and entertainment. There is a linen service! I was mislead by the auto attachment that indicated we had to wash and dry our sheets before leaving. This is a pet friendly house but you could not tell! House had puppy gates for use if needed. We only used first floor. Upstairs balcony is inaccessible but main deck offered plenty of views. Would certainly stay here again!

This house was wonderful! We had 3 adults and 5 kids ages 4-10 and we had plenty of room. Loved being right on the sand, and a 1-2min walk to the playground. Pictures in the listing are old, but they are still an accurate portrayal of the property. The spiral staircase is VERY narrow. There are two rooms upstairs, one with 2 twin beds, one with a double bed, plus a half bath. We put the older kids up there and it worked great, but the stairs would be tricky for very young kids or a larger than average adult. We did have a maintenence issue during our stay, but the owner was super responsive and accommodating. Overall a great place!

Everything was wonderful with the property. Great location. My only suggestion would be to have sheets on the beds and more toiletries available. Was a busy day right up until bedtime when we pulled the covers back to find all beds had no sheets which wasn’t what we expected. After staying at several vacation rentals I was accustomed to not have to worry about a trip out to buy toilet paper. Maybe we’ve just been spoiled. All in all it was a fantastic weekend and would definitely book again!

Such a perfect spot on the beach! We were 9 adults plus our pups and there was plenty of room. All the comforts of home were here. We especially enjoyed the porch swing while watching the sunrise or just watching the ocean. Angela replied quickly to all my questions. Thank you for the enjoyable stay. Would not hesitate to rent again.

Stayed here for the weekend. Property had a great location and well equipped. I'm not sure if the cleaning crew came or just did a poor job, but easily solved with 20 mins of cleaning. Would stay here again.

This place felt like we was home. Very easy access to the beach. Very spacious for our family. Very kid friendly. Big bedrooms. Very clean. Owner was very friendly and very responsive to any messages I sent. We have found our family trip beach home for our family tradition.

House was very clean and comfortable. On THE Beach!!! We had other of plans but never wanted to leave the house. Between enjoy the Ocean and watching the fish and birds to listening to the waves roll in at night , we couldn’t have picked a better place

So close to the beach! Just walk down the stairs and set up. WiFi still works on the beach! It’s rare to find a house and beach that is dog friendly. Like others say, finishes are dated but clean. Everything works and house is well stocked. We enjoyed the short walk to Surf City Line restaurant a couple nights.

With 2 people mobility challenged, the proximity to the beach was fantastic! There was plenty of room for everyone (the teens loved having their own floor upstairs) , and even though the pictures didn't show, there is a dining room table. The only improvements I could recommend is a king size bed in the Master bedroom, the air had a little trouble keeping up, but it was 100 degrees outside, the upstairs is very hot on hot days and the portable air can't really keep up. Loved the porch and the house is really well stocked. Overall a great vacation and thank you so much for sharing your house with us!

The Whales Tale did not disappoint. As referenced in the write and reviews, the property was dated and cozy, but not dirty. It was nice that we didn’t have to worry too much about the dog or kids messing things up. We decided to let our kids bring friends and realized the house only slept 10, not 12 as advertised. When we reached out to Angela to confirm, she immediately replied that the co-owners replaced the sleeper sofa with a regular sofa and generously offered to reimburse us for an air mattress and offered a rate discount. Otherwise the house was well stocked. The location to the water and pier couldn’t have been better. We rented bikes, which was perfect for the non-driving teens. We walked out and set up our equipment each morning and had very little traffic on our end of the beach. The accommodations + the amazing weather made for a great week together!

Perfect beach cottage! Very clean and you can’t get any closer to the ocean. Pet friendly!Owner was very responsive, as always. I think this is our 4th time at Whale Tail 🐳 and it surely won’t be our last! Love this place!

Location was amazing. Just a few steps and you’re on the beach. Most convenient and easiest beach access I’ve ever experienced especially with kids. Will definitely come back.

Our stay was lovely. The home is conveniently and centrally located near many shops and restaurants. You really wouldn’t need to leave the island or travel further than maybe a couple miles unless you just wanted to. Being directly on the beach is of course a huge plus! The view from the swing on the covered back deck is amazing. The outdoor shower came in handy. The house had just about everything that we needed for cooking, etc. Each bedroom had its own Roku TV which was especially good for us because my younger children could watch a show on Netflix in their room while the adults were watching something else on the living room TV. My family had a blast.
