We had a great weeks vacation. Our family consisted of 7 adults and Gerti the dog. It was good to have our 3 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws and our grand dog all together. There was enough room for everyone. The side yard was perfect for Gerti. The stocked kitchen was very helpful for making big meals. We were a block from the beach!!! There was 3 mini golf courses and 3 ice cream stores within 2 blocks of the condo. It was a great location. It was helpful to have linens and towels provided. I did wash all the linens, towels and dishes before using them. I just wasn't sure how clean everything was. All of us had a great time and may do this again.

This townhouse was perfect for our family of ten. The ocean block location allowed us to not only easily walk to the beach, but also other places such as nearby stores and restaurants. We appreciated the ample space for our family to be able to enjoy themselves.

Spent a week at The Break with our 2 daughters, son-in-law, 2 granddaughters, and 2 dogs and had a wonderful time. The house was big enough that we didn't feel cramped at all. The house is full of personality, unlike many rental properties. There are books, movies, and games everywhere, a bobblehead collection in the 3rd floor Tiki Room, and a variety of interesting wall art including paddle boards. We kept discovering new treasures. There are containers with pretty annual flowers on many of the balconies. The stairs to the 2nd floor are open at the back, and our 55-pound dog wouldn't go up them. We had planned on him sleeping in our bedroom, but instead set up his crate in the living room. The first night he barked and woke others, so we turned on white noise for him and then he slept until we got him up. Those stairs were also a huge concern for our 4-year-old and 22-month-old granddaughters. The little one is fearless and loves to climb. So between the 5 of us adults we just always made sure someone was right beside her. To get to the 3rd floor Tiki Room you climb a tight spiral staircase which again is open. This staircase, dubbed the "crazy stairs" by our granddaughters, was hugely entertaining for them but a source of worry for the adults! The adjacent private, fenced, shaded yard was wonderful for our dogs. The short walk to the beach was great and enabled different members of the group to come and go as we wanted. We hadn't expected to be so close to a commercial area. The townhouse is adjacent to a lit store parking lot, and the master bedroom couldn't be darkened at night. There were a lot of windows in the living room and master bedroom which were nice for the view but didn't block outside noise very well. We used white noise in our bedroom and had no problem sleeping. The advantage of the location is that you can easily walk to shops (Vanderwende's ice cream!), a mini golf course and go-kart track, and water park. It was also a reasonable walk (6 blocks) to Matt's Fish Camp, a restaurant that we enjoyed greatly and which has limited parking. Another quirk of The Break is that all the kitchen cabinets are full of dishes, cups, pans - enough to feed large numbers of people! So any food that you bring that doesn't need refrigeration has to sit on the counter. Fortunately, there's a lot of counter space. We loved our stay..

Quiet week at the beach
Great rental unit just steps from the beach. We were surprised at how quiet and slow paced Fenwick Island was. We enjoyed having friends over for dinner and the house was perfect to fit us all in. Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful week at the beach.

Great Time
There is a book where guests write stories about their stay. We read through it and thought it was funny someone mentioned one bad restaurant in the book. Oddly, we ended up ordering from that restaurant and they were so nasty we never finished the order. So the property has helpful hints about having a good time.
The house is open, clean and dry - which is really amazing if you have rented around the area. It can accommodate six adults with two dogs and everyone has plenty of space.
We had a great time and the beach is open, clean, and very near the house.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Break. The house had plenty of room for my wife, our three children, another couple, and our dog. We appreciated all of the thoughtful touches inside and out- we all felt right at home and wished we could have stayed longer. We love the location in Fenwick- close to the beach and also in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the Fenwick Boardwalk. All in all, a perfect place for a relaxing vacation with the family- it was especially nice to be able to have our dog with us.

Great vacation at The Break!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Break. The house had plenty of room for my wife, our three children, another couple, and our dog. We appreciated all of the thoughtful touches inside and out- we all felt right at home and wished we could have stayed longer. We had a great stay at The Break! The rooms were spacious and comfortable! The kitchen and living areas were also great! And the location in Fenwick is perfect! Just a 5 min walk to the beach (probably less if you don’t have children!). Also so many good take out (and ice cream) spots within walking distance!

Great location!
The Break is in a great location, a short distance to the beach, local shops and eateries. Our group found the house to be very comfortable.
We ate in more than normal due to vacationing during COVID-19 and found that the kitchen could use some serving bowls and measuring cups (we made what was available work).
Overall, our family had a great vacation and are cannot wait for our next trip.

Family getaway to Fenwick
We were a group of 8 adults who decided to go to Fenwick/OCMD last minute for a family weekend. So lucky to have found this place, as they allowed us to bring our pets and the location was terrific. The house was large enough for everyone to spread out and was so cozy - loved all the unique shore decor touches. The location to the beach was an added bonus, especially since we could take the dogs in the off-season - they loved it! Perfect weekend, perfect stay. Will do it again.

Family Reunion at the Break
We had a great time! The townhouse is centrally located and the owner gave us excellent recommendations for food and drinks. The kitchen is well stocked and there were plenty of linens and towels - no need to bring your own. We encountered a leak in the sink and the owner was there within minutes to fix it. Will definitely consider staying again the next time we are in town.

Great location
This was a great rental close to the beach and Ocean City & Rehoboth, but far enough from both towns to be quieter than staying in either. Clarke was great at providing information and the house was clean, ready, and well stocked. The only negative was some of the knick knacks in the tiki room had some stereotype overtones that made some in our party uncomfortable (e.g., “native” caricatures and political items). To be clear: great house, great location, great owner response.

Lots of Fun!
The Break has virtually everything you could want within an easy walk's distance. The beach is a block away, and never seems to get crowded! You can walk across the side street and rent a bike, and all kinds of restaurants and shops are within sight of your townhouse. The townhouse is full of all sorts of beach and Hawaiian decorations that give it a tropical atmosphere. The tiki bar is great in the early morning for yoga or meditation, and breezy at night. The lighthouse and water park are also closeby. The townhouse is very dog friendly, and our dog had a great time on the front deck. She also loved the dog beach, which is a five minute drive north from the townhouse.
The homeowner was very attentive, both via email, and while vacationing in Fenwick Island Lighthouse. We all had a wonderful time!

Location + Layout = Perfect Setup!
The location of this rental is perfect - a block from the ocean, bike shop across the street, shops and restaurants within walking distance, and you can easily head down to Ocean City or up to Bethany Beach. Clark and Cindy were awesome to deal with and when we had a slight issue with the front door handle, Clark was there within minutes of my phone call, replaced the door handle and we never missed a beat on our vacation. House has everything you need, too. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and the "tiki room" is an added bonus when you want to get away from the family and enjoy the breeze coming through the two sliding glass doors. The outdoor shower is heavenly! We are going back next year and will rent this place again!

Disappointed in upkeep of house
The location was great for walking to the beach and many things to do in fenwick. We chose this place so we could bring our dog to the beach and to accommodate several families. We were very disappointed in the upkeep of the property. The rooms were not clean esp the kitchen and the dishes and utensils. Fortunately we did not have to use much of it since we brought our own. Most of the weekend the door did not lock for us so we did not have security in the house or when we left to enjoy the area. This was the first time using vrbo and was expecting that the property would have been better maintained such as the cleanliness, doors to bathrooms closing, bathrooms not having broken tiles and lights and more. We made do but we were glad we brought our own sheets, towels,kitchen supplies because I really didn't want to use other items as I didn't know if it had been cleaned or not based on what we saw in some of the rooms esp the kitchen.

Best house at the Beach
For my family and I this is absolutely the best beach house in the FI/OCMD area. Its within walking distance to the OC bus line, as well as many restaurants and attractions. Everything you would ever need or want is in the house, definitely your home away from home. We love this place.

wonderful time!
Spent a week at "The Break" in January. We love off season at the beach. Had a wonderful time with family in a wonderful house. Plenty of room, great accommodations. We cooked a few meals and everything was there that we needed. The house is nicely furnished and the bedrooms allowed for everyone to have privacy. We are planning to make another trip soon, and highly recommend "The Break".

Great places for family vacation with the dogs!
We had a great family vacation at The Break. The owners have a well-stocked house and we had plenty of books, games, beach supplies, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals for our group of 6. The beach is a very short walk (a block) and the house is located on the beach side of coastal highway so there was no need to cross a busy street. The beach is very nice and not crowded at all in this area.
Being an end unit with a fenced yard, it was the perfect house to stay in with our two dogs, who loved that they could run freely in the yard. Parking for up to 4 vehicles also made the house great as we didn't need to pay for street parking passes for anyone's car.
The owners are great, and even called twice to check and see if we had any questions or needed anything. We definitely plan to rent The Break for a future family trip. Thanks Clarke and Cindy!!

Great Place!
This was the first time we stayed in Fenwick. The beach was not crowded at all and the place was very nice. Clarke and Cindy provided a welcome letter with everything you needed to know. Based on their recommendations, I tried out the Boot Camp on the beach (loved it) and my family ate at Mancini's for Italian one night, which was excellent. The place was great and had everything you could possibly need.

We've been to "The Break" several times now, and each time, they've made more improvements than the time before. We were utterly delighted with the property on our first visit, but they just keep making it better and better! Best of all, my husband uses a wheelchair, and the owners have installed a stair lift, which glides him to the first level, where the kitchen, dining area, living room, and our bedroom and bath, are located. This makes life, and our vacation so much easier. It's a lovely, well maintained, comfortable, spotless home, and is an easy walk to everything one can ask for. Also, with the addition of the Harris Teeter, to Fenwick in the last two years, there's no need to fight traffic to O.C ., or surrounds. Fenwick is the place for a perfect family vacation, and "The Break" is your home away from home!

The Break is a FANTASTIC retreat from stress!
Our family had a wonderful and relaxing week at The Break. As soon as we walked in the door, we felt at home. Everyone settled into their own space and we began to enjoy the shore and each other's company. There is plenty to do, and something to appeal to each age and interest. Some of us enjoyed cooking and reading. Others visited the beach, boardwalks and surrounding areas. These hosts are THE BEST! Great communication, very thoughtful, and very generous and hospitable. You can't go wrong with this property!

Our 2nd time staying at the Break
We just got back from a long weekend at The Break. The weather was perfect (being it was mid March). This is our 2nd time renting this great townhouse. The house has everything you need for a vacation. The kitchen is well stocked with all the tools needed to make a great meal. The beds are comfortable and the 3rd floor deck has great views. The location is perfect - 1 block to the beach and plenty of restaurants/shops within walking distance. You can't go wrong with this property. Thanks again Clarke for a wonderful time in Fenwick Island. We will be returning soon.
