El personal es muy amable, usan traductor porque solo hablan chino. Lamentablemente fuimos en invierno y fue muy frío, estaba muy helado y a pesar de que la habitación tenía aire acondicionado y calienta camas no era suficiente. Para estar en la habitación prácticamente teníamos que estar acostados para no tener frío. El hotel en general era muy helado. Faltaba papel higiénico en la habitación y el baño no estaba limpio en la ducha. Ellos mismos preparan comida, el arroz frito que hace el dueño es muy bueno.

Big clean room. I booked a shared room, but nobody else moved in so I had it all for myself.
From the place it is a short Taxi ride (around 12 RMB with Didi) or a 25 min walk (not a pleasent one) to south gate of the national park.
The hotel and the village both were sooo empty (beginning of november). I never met another tourist in the hotel/the village. The food options are also a bit limited. The best restaurant I found was the one in this guesthouse, but also here: I was the only customer.

The room was huge, bed was comfy and it was only a 25 minute walk to the Zhangjiajie Park entrance which meant we were able to get there super early on the day of our visit.

I was given a room with its own private bathroom instead of a dorm bed. The hostel must have its own reason for doing this. There were clean sheets, towels, and a kettle to boil water but no tea or coffee The bathroom was not to standard, with dark stains in corners.
When booking, I had thought from the description that the hostel was right by the South Gate of the park,. Instead it is situated in a hostel cluster 'village' in Luguota district. Unless I ate at the hostel, I would have to walk some distance to several restaurants further up the road. Also it turned out to be a 30 minute walk or a Uber ride to the South Gate. This was terribly inconvenient because after a day of walking in the park, I just wanted to be in my accommodation to relax.
