Situated in Holmes Beach, this lovely house for $205 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. VRC16-000510 The While Away, located at 6203 Holmes Blvd. in Holmes Beach is a two bedroom, two bath, ground level duplex with a private heated pool with a new beach cart, beach chairs and beach toys for your use. This very spacious duplex is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood just a short stroll to the beach, shopping or the library. It's a perfect spot to relax, unwind and regenerate! The While Away features a 38" flat screen television in the living room. There are also televisions in the both of the bedrooms. There is a charcoal grill at poolside for your evening dinner and swim. The While Away sleeps six with a new queen size bed in the main bedroom, two twins in the guest bedroom and a queen size sleeper sofa for overnight guests. It is a one week minimum rental. Parking is limited to two vehicles. Not pet friendly You are vacationing in a residential area. Please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level during the day and night. Excessive and unreasonable noise can deprive neighbors of the peaceful enjoyment of their private property.

First, the positive- we had some initial concerns upon arriving. The beach cart we were told about was broken and unusable. The patio table umbrella was also broken. The two fry pans were rusted. We notified the rental company, and they were very responsive. They did replace all three with new items. The house has a good amount of space with three TVs and plenty of kitchenware.
Now some things that potential renters should know. The queen bed cannot really be used by two people as there is a huge dip in the middle but comfortable enough for one person. One of the twin beds was at about a 20% angle and needed to be taken apart down to the bed frame to be fixed. The living room couch is extremely hard and uncomfortable to sit on. Some of the shades in the living room did not work. You are right on the corner of the street so you have to use them for privacy. While we stayed there for 9 days a detour sent all traffic down our road. Starting at 6am there were no less than 10-12 cars and mostly large work trucks lined up in front of the house. The house itself has a very strange layout. Here is what we wish we knew….you have to go out the front door walk along the sidewalk to the driveway to get to the pool!! There was nothing in the description about this. If this weren’t bad enough…. You are walking past 10-12 cars and trucks wondering what you are doing in your towel! The pool itself needs to be painted….it looked dirty until we realized the bottom was brown.

We like While Away, been there a couple of times. We know the place for years.But there are things which should bee taken care of. The kitchen, its appliances and cookware need to be replaced. The oven is only partially working, fridge light sometimes works, the cook pots are more than outdated. Umbrella at the pool is broken and the beach stuff is very used.This all sounds negative but are minor things compared to the great place and location While Away is. They installed a new AC which is great, as the old one had issues. Also the place is close to the beach, gym and restaurants. We will come back.

While we did enjoy our stay, the only negative comment I have was the air conditioning unit. We had AC people coming in and out of the house throughout the week. They did replace a window unit however, the central air was the major problem. Otherwise, the house and the location were perfect for our needs.

The rental company was great to work with! We were suppose to stay at a different location but had to change last minute due to hurricane Ian. Although the location was further from the beach then I like to be, it was still within walking distance and to shops and restaurants. The rental itself could use a few upgrades but it was clean and ready for us to enjoy our stay.

Very clean but AC struggled to cool and it got pretty hot at night. Very few electrical outlets. Fold out couch would not completely close flat so you had to sit on a bit of a hump. The arms of the living room were really worn and the stuffing was showing. Great location and we enjoyed the trip.

My family of 4 plus our pup stayed here two weeks. The location is about 10 minute walk from the beach, close to eating and shopping. Pool was clean and nice. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. We cooked in the home everyday. The cottage is spacious enough for a family of 4 and has cute decor with a "home" feel. Due to it being an older property I think some minor upgrades and maintenance would be helpful. I think the Air conditioning has a hard time "keeping up" with the hot florida weather and an exit to get to the pool area would be helpful without going outside through the drive way. I would recommend a DEEP cleaning. On the surface it seems clean enough but as we got into our second week it seemed we noticed someone had cut their hair prior and it was pushed under the refrigerator. We also found some trash under one of the twin beds. Some of the kitchen appliances need cleaning. Property Management company was super friendly and responsive! Overall its a cute place.

Able to check in a little early. Upon arrival house was warm so we turned the thermostat down. Couldn't get it below 75 only to find out the next day patio doors were left open. These doors were not ones that we used our entire stay. Once those were closed/locked the house stayed cool. Kitchen counter had crumbs on it and only 2 of 4 stove burners worked. We found dishes that were put away dirty. One bathroom smelled of urine the other was ok. Pool water was cloudy until pool guy came part way through our stay and beach wagon had a flat tire. Overall was an ok place to stay for the price. Nothing really too bad to not stay again.

Pool was nice, but only had one lounge chair that is placed under a tree, and was covered in bird poop - which we cleaned prior to using. Had to put blue painters tape down to mark the step down from the dining room to living area, to avoid anyone falling. Nothing too major though. We would stay here again. Good location. Quiet neighborhood.
