Best managed property that we’ve stayed in. Mike was so responsive to all of our needs. Such a great place to stay in. Loved how easy the natural wool fireplace was to get started, the ease of using the hottub, how warm and inviting the home was and having the security of the garage for our cars and bikes. Beautiful property.

The house was perfectly located for day trips to Deadwood, Sturgis, Spearfish Canyon, Keystone, and Mount Rushmore. Mike was very accommodating with any questions that emerged. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this house to others.

We chose Deer Meadow Lodge based on the beautiful photos and its proximity to trails, and both met our expectations! The cabin was just as beautiful as the photos and it is located in the middle of the Black Hills, very close to the trails that we ride. We saw lots of deer on the property each morning and on Saturday we woke to the amazing sound of bugling elk! The owner Mike is great to work with and I’m certain that we’ll be back.

We had 3 couples stay at Deer Meadow Lodge for Sturgis Bike Week and we loved it! I would highly recommend this cabin - it had everything we needed! They have the inside and outside of the cabin and garage decorated with such fun things, we loved looking through everything. The porch was where we spent most of our time due to rain during most of our stay, but we were so happy that we had a covered option that still allowed us to be outside. The location was basically in the middle of all the places we wanted to visit....Custer, Sturgis, Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon, etc. and it was so nice to come home to a beautiful, quiet location each night. Mike was fabulous and very attentive, he called when we arrived to check on us and see if we needed anything and then followed up with their internet provider as we were having some issues. He got right back to us to let us know there was an outage due to weather, but it was back up and working fine the next day. Note - the internet works GREAT at the cabin! Two of us are self-employed and needed to stay up to date with work, and other than that first night, we had absolutely no issues - 6 people all on their phones/laptops at the same time. Having stayed in other cabins in the area in the past, I know for a fact this is not always the case. We would definitely stay here again!

The pictures do not show the reality of this cabin. Many things were broken, not working or dirty. The strong musty smell was so terrible throughout the whole house! Everyone was stuffed up during the stay. Not sure if there is mold somewhere or what. And don’t drink the water!
Holes in screens, vents broken, lights that don’t work, ice maker broken (we fixed), dirty/stained pillows, etc. Homeowner told us it had a fully stocked closet with necessities but there was nothing in there when we arrived. The hot tub was so disgusting that we couldn’t even use it. Murky and a layer of scum. So gross! Property is not taken care… so sad. We won’t be staying at this cabin ever again!

WE WAS THERE FOR OUR 40TH ANNIVERSARY WITH OUR KIDS. THE PROPERTY WAS EVERYTHING ADVERTISED!!!! HAVING ACCESS TO A GARAGE WAS SO NICE.......AS HE WE HAD MOTORCYCLES AND IT WAS A GOOD FEELING TO HAVE THEM INSIDE (UNDER A ROOF). CABIN IS AWESOME...... CLEAN AND IN A VERY NEAT LOCATION! PROPERTY IS QUIET....SO, NEAT TO SEE AND LISTEN TO THE NATURE. WE ALL LOVED ALL THE HISTORY AND INFORMATION ON THE PICTURES IN EVERY ROOM.

Deer Meadow Lodge is the perfect place to stay while vacationing in the Black Hills! Mike was easily available for any additional questions or needs. He was great at communicating and checking in on us. You can't beat the location of the cabin as it is very centralized to all the main sights and attractions. The cabin is beautiful and comfortable, just as described in the listing. We loved the peaceful setting and enjoyed the hot tub every evening after returning from a full day of fun! We hope to return to Deer Meadow Lodge someday!

The cabin had all the amenities we needed and more. Very detailed directions were provided, we never had any questions. Plenty of parking for the the trailer and ATV and we hit the trials right from the house, which was the best part. Will come back here again if we return to the area. Also, Mike was awesome to communicate with!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Deer Meadow Lodge. It was exactly as described in the listing. It was such a warm and inviting place to stay as it is decorated so nicely and appropriately for a cabin in the Black Hills. For us it was centrally located so we could get around the Black Hills easily. I loved having the garage available for gear as we were in the Hills primarily for doing a little deer hunting and needed a place to spread out. We will be back again for sure!

The property was beautiful! The location is a bit remote and does require a bit of driving to all the national parks in the area, but not awful. The house was fully stocked with dishwater and cookware to make great meals. The Sugar Shack down the street is delicious and a great place for lunch! The Mickelson bike trail can be accessed about 5 miles down the dirt road from the house, this is a must! That was the best bike ride every. The trail is amazing and beautiful. Easy for anyone to enjoy or even just walk on. The only thing this place needs is labels on all the light switches. There are so many! The hot tub was great and glad we had it. Will stay here again!

Wow...just Wow! What a great getaway. Only wish we had more time there. The location is perfect. Only about 20 miles from everywhere. Mike was awesome. One day I had low tire, and Mike let us use his air compressor and the next day we forgot to get gas and Mike came to the rescue again. He goes above and beyond. I would totally stay here again! Awesome Place!!

We stayed 6 days at Deer Meadow Lodge. The directions to get there were spot on and the maps helped. Check in was so easy. We loved the outdoor setting as we pulled in and the three car garage was perfect. Our two young grandchildren rode their scooters during a rainy day in there. The large maps of the area framed outside were helpful and the decor was very enjoyable. Everything inside was just as pictures showed and we enjoyed looking at everything. The house has everything we needed plus the games were appreciated so we didn’t need to bring any. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to prepare a stay in meal. We enjoyed the deck with the furniture and of course the hot tub was a nice treat before retiring. We saw many wildlife while here; a couple does with their babies with one having twin fawns. Our grandsons loved watching them. There are chipmunks to entertain us and a naughty little squirrel as well. We heard elk a few nights and had a hawk perch on a window even! The house is in a great location for sightseeing being near many attractions and beautiful drives. The large property was very much appreciated so our grandsons could run some energy out and explore. It’s a quiet area and even though there are neighbors nearby, we didn’t hear them at all. Mike was wonderful to deal with calling our first day to be sure everything was ok. He is very easy to reach and helpful to anything. We are already talking about when we could come back for another stay. Thank you for sharing your lovely home! We are so happy we booked with you!

The Cabin is located in a perfect location to visit the attractions. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was wonderful. We found the garage to be especially nice for the fishermen in the family who were able to keep their gear there. The Wi-Fi went out for several days, but Mike was very responsive and arranged for the service folks to get there as soon as possible. Just a few suggestions - more forks are needed and a 9x13 casserole dish would be a nice addition to the wide selection of cooking supplies. We were there 10 days and wished we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful property located in a great location in the Black Hills. It was in a central location near to the attractions we wanted to see. We also enjoyed relaxing on the nice deck while grilling out. Mike the owner was quick to respond to our questions & he wanted to make sure we had everything we needed to have a great stay.
