Now with it's signature entrance and deck, it is transforming into what is one of the most architecturally recognizable homes in Yachats! This house is nestled on the edge Yachats' cedar forest overlooking the rocky coast and a rare tide pool plateau; a calm bay view backed with tall tree covered mountains to the south; a ceaselessly changing sea and sky to match the mood that hopefully brought you here. Great for a family vacation; art-work; or to sit and write that novel you have been carrying around inside you. Enjoy the crash of waves during stormy days while you watch whales in the stillness of a glass windscreen protected second story deck. Our family enjoyed our stay in this comfy two-story home. Separation of space meant morning people and night owls could enjoy themselves without waking others. Our dogs loved it here! Great location, right on the 804 trail and easy access to all the little village shops. If you're looking for a Pottery Barn-perfect beach cabin, keep scrolling. If you're a real family that likes to kick back and get comfy on vacation, stay here. We had a minor issue but Katie at the office was responsive and more than helpful. Great customer service. We're looking forward to returning.

Great house with a fun little window nook to gaze on the ocean. Just minutes from the ocean. Love having upstairs and downstairs areas so you can lend time together and have a little area to have space. Perfect when you have teenagers.

This place was a great getaway for some much needed coastal time. Peaceful neighborhood and you can watch the waves crash across the ocean while enjoying a glass of wine on the coach. You can hear the waves all ugh and it’s amazing. The place is. I let decorated and maintained especially for the cost. I love the feel of the place full of warmth and comfort while you gaze out to enjoy nature at its best.

We have been to Yachats many times over the past thirty and had noticed the unique home now known as the Seventh Wave on previous visits. When the opportunity arose to return to Yachats in early October, we were able to reserve it for our ten-day stay with my husband's cousin, her daughter and grandson, and our 2 1/2 year old lab /coonhound pup.By far the most wonderful feature of the house is the glorious second story porch. Everyone was able to spend time on the porch with its unmatched view of the rocky shoreline, tide pools, and ocean waves. The house was perfect for our group. Our first floor bedroom was spacious enough to accommodate a large dog crate. Upstairs the huge front room combining kitchen/dining/living room provided lots of room for us all to spread out, with ample seating to come together when we wanted to. The location on Ocean View Drive is perfect for easy access to the beautiful 804 trail to the north and the equally beautiful State Park to the south. All the wonderful restaurants and shops are an easy walk from the Seventh Wave. The house was clean, with an ample supply of towels,sheets, blankets, and pillows. The furnishings were sturdy and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied, but we've learned that it's good to bring along your own favorite spices, and some standard utensils like a sharp knife, can opener, etc.A few caveats:The large hanging fireplace in the upstairs front room is an obstacle to traffic flow & using it seemed ill-advised, given its close proximity to furniture.Little storage is available for guests' clothing--be prepared to live out of your suitcase. A few unfinished steps from a remodel--no skirting across the lower edge of the dishwasher--small toys can drop to the floor and disappear underneath. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, rested comfortably at night, and drank in the unforgettable sight of the endless horizon and the

The pictures of this property on the VRBO website must have been taken some time ago. Pictures look bright and inviting. Reality: the property shows physical deterioration both inside and out, evidence of deferred maintenance (windows with broken seals, small trees growing from the gutters, peeling, worn paint/stain), obsolescence, and neglect. A dining room chair with the mock-leather finish worn almost completely away, giving the appearance of having mange- it should have been hauled to the dump years ago. Uncomfortable old beds, filthy pillows, with cheap, mismatched bedding.
We left a day earlier than planned.
The first floor smells musty; the smell hits you when you walk in. The dehumidifier fills every 12-18 hours. We didn't use the rooms downstairs- no television viewing (no big deal- we didn’t come to the coast to watch tv), unable to use the primary bedroom. It is not safe. Air quality should be tested and home inspected for mold and/or rot.
Of 8 under-cabinet lights in the kitchen, 6 lights, over the sink area, do not work.
The faucet in the kitchen leaks and is loose. The soap dispenser compartment door in the dishwasher is missing.
Light is burned out at the over-the-range microwave. Very hard to cook in the dark.
The deadbolt on the door leading to the deck is completely rusted away, reduced to skeletal remains. Rust stains down weather-worn door.
Strap on deck chair is broken.
In the north bedroom, 2nd floor: three-light fixture- bottom light is broken in socket; middle light did not work…I looked and saw the tip of the bulb, but when I reached in to attempt to see of the bulb was loose, I found the bulb broken below the tip, and I touched the filaments, resulting in shock and a spark of electricity. The lamp is unusable and dangerous. Though they only stayed with us for one night, I’m glad my grandchildren did not use that room.
North bedroom: the three pillows in that room were unusable. The bed is awful. We went to Florence and bought new pillows.
North bedroom: The one venetian blind is both extremely filthy and broken.
North and south bedrooms: there are windows without shades for privacy, safety, or warmth.
South bedroom: No nightstands. On one side a table. I moved a nightstand and a lamp to provide for the other side of the bed.
The smell of the place.
The worst vacation experience we have ever had.
The property manager did apologize and was wiling to make adjustments to our rent, but it was a week ruined. Don't stay here.

Such a special location overshadowed by poor cleaning. We arrived after office hours for a family gathering. We spent our first few hours cleaning the kitchens so that we could put away our groceries. The counters, cabinets and refrigerator were soiled with oils and residue. The stove and oven were dirty with a piece of aluminum foil placed over the oven floor to accommodate the grime. I called the property manager line and sent an email with the unsatisfactory conditions. The next business day the property manager responded and delivered new pillows, additional glassware and were accommodating to the issues of cleanliness. The property manager acknowledged our concerns that the property was in need of deep cleaning. We had moved items from the armoires in bedrooms where volumes of old comforters were stored to the point of a musty scent in the bedrooms. After we sprayed Lysol the musty smell was reduced. Throughout our stay we dealt with the dishwasher which was loose in the cabinet and falling out every time we tried to load or unload the dishwasher
The management company was quickly responsive to our concerns. We had a wonderful time in the home situated proximal to the coast.

We loved the location! Having a fenced yard across from the ocean? Wow just amazing. The furnishings are older and some switches don’t seem to work (never could figure out how to turn the lights on under the kitchen counters on the east side, separate switch for the two on the south side), but it is cozy and has all the necessary items one would need. We will definitely be back but we may bring our own pillows and towels just because we like it fluffy not old and tattered. Washer and dryer were very good and quick. Bathroom downstairs has the tub/shower combo large enough for two but the shower head, although huge and looks amazing, is NOT so we only showered upstairs but it would be fine for kids, dogs or baths.

We loved our visit! The view and deck are incredible and the fireplace in the living room keeps you warm and cozy all evening. It’s in the perfect spot to explore Yachats and the beach. Definitely would come back!

There were some hiccups upon arrival since the clean-up crew was still working for over an hour after the check-in time. The location of the house couldn't be better, right across the street from the beach. The views were spectacular. The house itself was comfortable but could use a fair amount of maintenance. (fix the dishwasher door, leaky faucets, replace light bulbs, etc). We never could figure out if the upstairs TV had cable.
Despite any small issues, we had a great time and would return.

I would give this property a ten if it didn't have a fireplace hanging in the middle of everything. While it is unique, it hinders the flow of traffic and socializing of a wonderful great room.

Highly recommended!
We enjoyed everything about our stay here! Yachats is a very friendly town for exploring. We highly recommend walking the Amanda Trail and having breakfast at the Green Salmon Cafe. This rental house held 5 people and a dog with ease, and could have accommodated several more. There were plenty of blankets, a beautifully sunny window seat, and a fenced backyard big enough for a great game of fetch. The tv’s were modern, and the table large enough for a great game of cards. I highly recommend this house!

Enjoyed a balmy winter weekend at The Seventh Wave which has a spectacular wall of wimdows overlooking the ocean and beach access just a short walk from the driveway. The house is cute and comfortable with good heating plus an awesome suspended fireplace in the open concept kitchen-living area. There were plenty of dishes and cooking tools-- we cooked all of our meals there. Short walk to coffee, shopping, and restaurants. Like then majority of central Oregon rentals, this house is not fancy, but beds and bedding and furniture are clean and comfortable. If you are used to Airbnbs you should know there are not any shower items like shampoo or soap provided, but they inform you of this at the time of reservation. There are a few light fixtures not working but still plenty of lighting and it doesn't create a problem. There is an awesome balcony for watching the waves roll in and a twin bed sized cushioned window nook, too. We loved this place and will stay again.

The location and view from the deck was incredible We spent most of our time on the deck and at the beach. Sunsets are always amazing on the OR coast. The property itself is in poor condition and in need of basic maintenance. Furniture is very old and worn and the place needs a good cleaning. Floors, blinds, windows, tubs and furniture are really dirty and in poor condition. The kitchen faucet was about to come off the countertop and was very difficult to use. We let the property management know when we arrived but no one reached back out to us during our stay.

The deck recently had some work done (a wall fell over) but they did not know what they were doing and one of the rails was not connected. Do not lean on it, it will fall! In the front yard was lumber with large rusty nails sticking up. Most windows had black mold growing around them. I know this is the coast, things are humid but just clean the windows with vinegar every now and then, it is not that hard. The entire first floor smells like damp mold and it is likely from the bathroom. The plywood floor is rotten, wood should not be squishy. We had people that had to cut the trip short because they couldn't breathe well downstairs. There are another dozen or so things I could talk about such as the strained blankets, missing window blinds or the broken lights but what is the point? This place is so far gone, clearly the owners stopped caring years ago and are just milking people for as much as they can. Beware

Falling asleep to the waves, having a forest and amazing walking/birding trail in your backyard, and ocean sunsets was magical. Like others have said, the house definitely could use some love. While it was very clean, it was definitely rustic. If you’re looking for modern and fancy, this isn’t it but for our family of five with 2 dogs, it was perfect and we’ll be back. Kitchen was well stocked, Keurig was a nice touch, having a fenced backyard was incredible, tons of room, and having the giant TV downstairs was great for boys NBA finals watching.

Very cool house with lots of quirks. If you like being right next to crashing waves this is the place. Very relaxing deck. Needs to have shades on upper windows at sunset time, XD player did not work and no TVs in the rooms like the description. All in all a good trip for relaxing and enjoying family

Loved the charm of the house, needs updated to what it’s advertised to be, the house looks different than the ad, needed a home for easy access for elderly, had stairs that they would have tripped on alone, they were kinda stuck upstairs. Downstairs floors are very uneven. Has a backyard fenced for dogs which is nice, the view is amazing but only one window has a screen for when the sun is so bright, amazing window in kitchen to sit and watch waves, beds comfortable but the TVs in the rooms did not work or even have remotes, not important when you want to enjoy the views. Tripping hazzard on the upstairs deck, could’ve been done with holding the wind break on the roof. A great experience and family did love it all and all, but the house needs work and love, could be kept up better. Kitchen lights under cabinets need to be replaced or just taken out, looks cheap and only 2 work. After all this we really enjoyed our weekend on the deck most of the days the ocean sound is unbelievable and also the frogs at night. Do not rent if you’re extremely picky, we loved the quirks.
