The lodge is very '70's retro. We stayed in a second floor room that had very high vaulted ceilings. There is no feeling that you are staying in a box that is just like all the other boxes in the hotel. The room is very unique with a balcony that overlooks the water. The bathroom is modern and clean with real hot water that lasts the whole shower. This is a no frills lodge, but we are in the Keys, I did not come to the Keys to stay in the room: the adventure is outside - the room is for sleeping and showering. We had a great time in the Keys and the relaxed atmosphere of the lodge made it even better
No coffee makers in the room, but there is plenty of coffee at the tiki bar early morning.

They had a five star restaurant on the premises.
It’s definitely a mom pop, motel. The rooms are comfortable, but they didn’t have a coffee maker or a microwave. What I don’t understand is they have a fantastic tiki bar that had no lights… So when the sun goes down, the tiki bar is obsolete. And in the morning when they have coffee, because they don’t have coffee makers in the room, you go down and get coffee it’s still dark….
