Sequoia 270 Acre Private River Retreat
About this farm stay rental
Located in Three Rivers, this lovely farm stay for $1,833 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Redwood Ranch is a private wilderness Ranch on 270 acres of world-class swimming holes. Cozy, converted Barn that has been completely renovated! Great for family reunions, yoga & corporate retreats, weddings and friends getting together. Four miles to the southern gate of Sequoia National Park with great hiking trails, high mountain meadows, and giant groves of Sequoia trees. This is a working ranch with cattle, horses, donkeys, peacocks and chickens (feel free to gather fresh eggs from our chicken coop!). We do have an occasional bear and deer wandering through as well as foxes, raccoons, and birds galore! There is approximately 1800 feet of riverfront with many great boulders to lay on after a nice refreshing swim in one of our several massive swimming holes, where you can take an exhilarating dip in total seclusion with a valley of mountains surrounding you. The Barn is located at the river's edge. It includes an upper self-contained unit consisting of 1 king bed and 1 full bathroom, a children's nook with a full bed (this children’s nook is a miniature room with it’s own door), a kitchen, a family room with a couch, a flat-screen with DirecTV, as well as additional seating, a table and a bar area. Outside the upper unit there is a large deck overlooking the South Kaweah River. The lower/ground floor of the Barn has 5 sleeping areas: 3 bedrooms with queen beds as well as 1 bunk-bed room with a full on top and a queen on the bottom. All of these rooms have doors. There is also 1 den connected to the living room (living-room has three large couches) that has a fold-out queen futon. This den area is not separated by a doorway but instead by curtains (for privacy and blackout) and connects to the living room through an alcove. Downstairs, there are 2 full bathrooms, a kitchen, a game room with a pool & card tables and a flat-screen with DirecTV and a dvd player. Outside, there is a large patio with an extra-long bench seating/eating area with huge 8-foot custom BBQ. Upstairs and downstairs, the Barn sleeps 16 comfortably. The BBQ has cooked for 200 guests! The rate for the Barn includes a 10% occupancy tax (required by the state) and $350 cleaning fee. This rental has a two-day minimum. We allow up to 16 guests for this rate- for additional guests or campers, there is a $25 per guest/per night fee. We have a $100 pet fee (per pet) and all pets must be on leash at all times while at the Ranch. In renting Redwood Ranch, you will be the only guests with access to the 270 acres, the 1800 feet of river frontage with breathtaking tranquil and secluded swimming holes and a hiking/jogging/walking trail that loops around the property. Please inquire about hosting your wedding, event or retreat which we do allow for an additional venue fee- for more details, please ask or see our website. My partner and I celebrated our wedding at Redwood Ranch and we could not have had a better time. It was the most magical location to celebrate at. We highly recommended here for a wedding, gathering, or weekend away!

Redwood Ranch was the most magical space for our wedding in May! The property is stunning, spacious, and river-front. The wildflowers were colorful and in bloom, and the river was raging! The barn was beautiful - comfortable, relaxing and everything we needed - note* listing says 6 bedrooms but it's actually 5! (The futon in the front room is counted as a bedroom.) The on-site manager was incredible and was there whenever we needed something or had a question. Thank you Redwood Ranch for hosting our most magical wedding of our dreams!

We rented the barn for our family when our daughter and her fiancee were being married. It was a wonderful venue.

Our kids had the best time. They ran around, swam in the river, made s’mores, star gazed, fed the cows and the chickens,. We slept in late, breathed in French mountain air, barbecued, enjoyed the quiet and took a trip up to see the giant trees in the Seqouia park which is only a few miles from the house. This is our second time at this house and won’t be our last. Highly recommend for big groups and families with small children and teens. The caretakers were very responsive and helpful.

We had our little wedding here with just family and it was like a dream. This property worked out perfectly for us. We fit most of our group in the house, and the outdoor area was perfect for our ceremony, reception, and faux campfire (using a ton of flameless candles). It was so wonderful having beautiful nature around us, and the lights at night made it truly magical. My family members loved exploring the grounds, esp the swimming hole/waterfall area. And the kids were in heaven playing with the two super sweet German shepherds that are always hanging around and leading people on tours of the property, haha. My only small gripe is that checkout seems a bit early at 10am, when there was so much to put away after a wedding the following night. Even and hour later would've been very helpful, but we all woke up early and everyone pitched in to get it done. We 1000% would recommend Redwood Ranch for a wedding, or a large group vacation. It is truly one of a kind and I'm so thankful that I found it.

I am in awe of this beautiful place. My now husband and I had a small intimate wedding this past weekend. It was truly the wedding of our dreams in the most magical place!! This entire property is stunning, but the attention to detail, cleanliness, and the communication between the owners and property manager are impeccable. I want to come back time and time again. We enjoyed the hikes, swimming hole, the beautiful night sky and all the animals of course!! Especially if you love dogs, they’ve got the sweetest and friendliest ones! We loved every second of our fairytale weekend and can’t wait to come back one day!

My wife and I and our family enjoyed this wonderful home while we prepared then celebrated our wedding. It was so beautiful, clean, and accommodating! Jose the caretaker was so incredible and kind and the entire experience was something we’ll never forget!

My wife and I were married at the Redwood Ranch this weekend and everyone absolutely loved it. The whole event was almost exactly how I had hoped it would be and the venue was a huge part of that. Such a beautiful property surrounded by hills, trees, and a river with chickens, peacocks, and German Shepards wandering around. I loved it. I can’t wait to see the wedding photos because I already know how great some of them must be. Andrew and his staff were great to interact and communicate with. Jose and his family who were the site managers were super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a more rustic and scenic wedding.

Perfect Family get away
We spent 2 wonderful nights with our family group of 6 adults and 3 children ages 5, 3, and 1.
The inside space was wonderful and just as advertised. Comfortable beds for everyone, plenty of bathrooms and we had no trouble making meals in the kitchen.
What made our experience though was the beautiful remote location. There is a a wonderful creek for water play, and many delightful animals including peacocks and turkeys with babies that our kids adored.
There is outside seating and tables for outside dining - all of which we utilized.
The ranch is remote but not hard to find with provided directions. It is also easy to access the entrance to Sequoia NP.
We would highly recommend this place for those wanting to get off the beaten track.

The house was clean and accommodating to our large group. The grounds are beautiful with hiking trail and river access. The kids loved all the animals on the property. We got to feed the cows and donkeys and had fresh eggs every morning from the chickens. I would definitely recommend staying here, it’s a great place to get away with the family, unplug and enjoy the outdoors.

We’ve stayed at similar large homes in VRBO and none were as picturesque as this Ranch. The keeper, Jose, was so kind and gracious and showed our kids the farm animals. The bone was well equipped and all we needed were the food items as the kitchen is well stocked with everything else. The trails behind the house were well kept and a perfect level of difficulty for the entire family, including our toddlers. We will definitely stay again in this home!

If you are looking for a secluded, peaceful setting to relax in, this is the place. It is located in the foothills with a creek, a swimming hole, as well as a hiking trail. Part of the charm is the various animals on the property, especially Jody, one of the German Shepherds, who would make sure we made it back to the house. Our 3 year old granddaughter loved her. All of us, from 3 years old to 80 years old, had a great time.

We had our wedding here, and decided to stay with our whole wedding party for the few nights before and after the wedding as well. First of all, the property is BEAUTIFUL. Lots of area to roam around, hiking trails on the property, the gorgeous river & three swimming holes—there is no shortage of views or fun things to do. We spent two entire days just by the river and had the absolute best time! The barn is comfortable, very clean, and well-stocked as well. We were grateful to have the reverse osmosis system in the kitchen sinks for drinking water, and the AC units in each room were much appreciated too. Jose was so helpful and emptied the outside trash cans on a daily basis, and even brought us all of the chairs we needed for our ceremony. Jalene & Andrew were amazing with communication and made sure everything was squared away for our weekend and our wedding day. Overall we had the best wedding weekend we could’ve ever asked for, and will definitely be coming back for future vacations. Thank you to the whole Redwood Ranch team!

We are so happy with our stay at the Ranch! We got to experience everything we had hoped to: fresh air, crisp pools to wade in (we came in winter) and the dogs to take a swim, safe grounds for the little kids to roam freely, and all the touches of creature comforts that made a remote trip bearable with little children. There was no shortage of hot water with great pressure, plush bedding, modern appliances, washer & dryer, and a charging station for our electric vehicle. We visited in the winter with our family of 5 and two large dogs, plus our best friends and their children. We took the 90 minute trip to the sled park inside of Sequoia National Forest and it was so worth it! The January weather was cool and crisp and even though the water was too cold for a swim, we preferred not having to worry about the wildlife that may have been more likely to make a visit in the summer, especially with the little kids running around the property. Our dogs became fast friends with the resident German Shephards. There were too many peacocks to count and we were dazzled daily with a show of plumage. The chickens so graciously left us more golden-yolked eggs than could be used by two families. The kids (ages 2, 4, 6, 6, and 9) were never bored at any point in time on the ranch. Whether they were feeding the donkeys, on the swing, climbing rocks, or "fishing" in the river, there were endless ways to enjoy the property! We can't wait to come back!

Just over twenty of my work colleagues/friends and I had the great fortune to stay at Redwood Ranch for just under a week. The pictures of the property truly can’t do it justice. The watering hole is absolutely breathtaking. The water is very cold though, so we actually brought a large 6 person float so that we could lounge by the waterfall and enjoy the water while basking in the warm sun (however I do recommend taking a quick dip as the cold plunge is very invigorating and good for your circulation!)The layout of the property is also ideal. We had some people stay in the house, while others rented RVs or camped, and it’s the perfect amount of space for people to not feel cramped, but still be close enough together to feel social. Having two kitchens plus the grill is a much appreciated luxury. Also, we rented a very nice additional bathroom trailer that proved very useful. While there are three showers in the home, having the additional bathrooms meant never having to wait if there was a shower/indoor restroom in use. So I highly recommend renting the fancy bathroom trailer if you have a larger group. We absolutely fell in love with the three German Shepherds who are the caretakers of the ranch. We felt so safe, especially when they walked with us on the hike. I do have to say though that if you bring your dogs, that not only they be non-aggressive, but VERY tolerant. Alfie, who is a sweetheart, is young and rambunctious and wanted to play with our dogs constantly and sometimes wouldn’t leave the dogs alone even when they made it clear they didn’t want to play. Luckily our group is all dog people so we would just pull Alfie away or hold him back, but if this sounds like a situation you and your pup can’t handle, I would suggest either not bringing your dog or discussing with Jose or Andrew. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the extra dogs hanging out with us.I truly can’t say enough what a great time we had at the ranch. I’ve booked a lot of different properties over the years for large groups for various occasions and this place is truly special. Andrew, Jalene, and Jose were great hosts and so accommodating to our group. Before we even left we were already discussing coming back in the spring.

Amazing 4 night vacation. House was clean upon arrival. The private swimming hole was a 2 min walk away from the house, making it very convenient and enjoyable to come and go. Also on the property there is a nice short 30 min hike that is family friendly. Kitchen was pretty much fully equipment with pots, pans, utensils, and some spices. Lots of movies and boards games are available to guests. No water floats or toys, so make sure to take your own. Some beds had mattress Toppers while others didn’t, so make sure to grab the right bed asap. Everything about this property is beautiful and I can’t wait to go again!!
