Very convenient besides the train station. 3’ walk. Room was simple but clean

Amazing vibes

The futon was super comfy and the hangers were strong enough for me to hang my little backpack and other items above me in the cubicle/capsule. I used my own silk sleeping bag but sheets and a duvet were provided. I was in “c” area on a top bunk: the ladder is shared between 2 bunks; there was a decent edge alongside the adjacent window that I used to help me get up and down at the top of the ladder and into my area. I used ear plugs but overall the area was quite: there was no traffic or train noise that I heard. I stayed one night. I did not use the common area to “hang out” but instead arrived early evening, left with another guest to eat, and crashed; I left early the next morning around 8.30 and had no problem accessing a shower to do so. I re-packed in the common area (there is no room to do anything but access your bunk in the accommodation areas). Bathroom Facilities were clean. Towel was fluffy and thick. I didn’t use hairdryers but they were provided. Shower gel etc was provided in the individual shower. There were 2 showers located inside individual cubicles so you could dress/undress/shower in private. I read others feedback prior to booking so the very small entrance areas to the bunk beds were not a surprise. It was dry weather when I stayed so I did not need to deal with wet clothes etc. I met other friendly and polite travelers in the common area which was central to the bulk areas. There is no room to store luggage in the bunk area so everyone just lined theirs up next to each other in the common area, which was fine: everyone was very respectful. There is a WhatsApp QR code on the entrance door for you to contact staff. I was sent an email with my access code. There is a shoe rack by the entrance and rubber slip-on are provided for guests to use to enter the accommodations. Umbrella’s were also available to use there.

It was a bit warm in the cubicle/capsule - there is no fan inside your individual unit. The one air-conditioner for the bunk room was not sufficient for cooling if you chose to keep your curtain closed for privacy: I opted to leave my curtain slightly open (I wore an eye patch). The overnight temperature was around 16-18 Celsius. I think from memory there were 6 units in area C. There was a little noise as people bumped into their respective cubicle walls occasionally; additionally, there was some street noise during the night from a drunk person singing, lol. Otherwise, it was quiet.

The location of the hostel is really good, right in the heart of Shimokitazawa which is few stations away from Shibuya. We luckily two bottom bunk beds which was a blessing. Getting to the top ones seemed a bit difficult. Internet was good, and meeting people was easy because of the shared space.

Unfortunately no space to lock your luggage, we had to keep in the beds and hope that no one opens the curtains. Reaching or texting staff was difficult, sometimes I did not get an answer for 24h and complaints were disregarded. Entertaining the premises was also a bit difficult because the instructions were a bit unclear. Another note: Not the hostels fault but some guests were unpleasant, for example coming into your room in the middle of night and sleeping at a free bed bc their own room was loud (snoring) and then came to our room and snored. Also other people randomly taking a picture of you. If you are a women or two women traveling, i recommend getting a single or privat room.
