About this house rental
Nestled in Hitchcock, this attractive house for $225 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. This two bedrooms, two full baths beach house was renovated in 2011, three years after Hurricane Ike made landfall in Galveston. The house is perfect for a small family with a large wrap around deck. Located in Palm Beach, one mile walk or drive to Galveston Island State Park, and 7 miles to Walmart, Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn. Take sunset walks on the private and clean beach where vehicles are not permitted. A huge deck is available to enjoy the ocean breeze, have a barbeque with friends and family or to just enjoy a full ocean view. This beach house is your perfect beach get a way. The living area is equipped with a decorative fireplace, TV and DVD player. Two bedrooms has a queen sized bed with a bunk bed and a pulled out bed in an open area right outside the bedrooms. The house is in a quiet neighborhood at the west end of Galveston Island on the beach side. The wide sand beach is perfect for kids to play on the beach, fly their kites or just to have fun on the sand and for adults to take long beach walk Age Limit: Minimum Age Limit for Renters: All reservations MUST be made by individuals at the age of 25 or older. Adults cannot rent properties on behalf of underage guests. Special occasions : Reservations for Special occasions such as birthday parties, family reunions, etc., must be disclosed at the time of booking and prior approval is required. Prom parties, fraternity or sorority parties, graduation parties are not allowed at any time. Cancellation Policy: Cancellation more than 2 weeks prior to arrival: 100% of deposit and payment refunded. Hurricane or storm policy: 100% of payment refunded

I’ve written about this property several times so I’ll make this one brief. The proximity to the water, the cleanliness and home like feel of the property and the the host’s hospitality always make this trip a must to begin our fall. This is our 4th year staying at Palm Beach and we always come away with smiles on our faces and slight sunburns. Highly recommend for families with little kids as proximity to the beach makes for an easy walk and a quick trip back to the house for diaper blow outs or to grab a quick snack. We plan to make next year, year number five here!

The house was great with wonderful views of the beach. Very close to the ocean and it took us about 45 seconds to get to the sand. The house is suited for a small family. Washer and Dryer are located in the hallway and you definitely need to run the laundry during the day as it will be too loud at night. TV & internet service was great. Quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay very much. Communication with the owner was easy and fast. No problems. We plan on coming back.

This is our second time to stay at this property and we love it. The house isn't huge, but it's got fantastic views and is only 1 house away from the beach. The porch is gigantic and everything is well-maintained. We hope to be back again!

Great location and a beautiful deck with nice view. You are just one house away from the beach, but still have a view! For families, there is no bathtub and the bunk beds aren't in a room - so your kids may wake early. Owners are very responsive.

This is our third time staying at Matthew and Tanya’s beach house. We continue to come back because the property is clean, the location is amazing, and home is wonderful. The house is 100 yards from the water, the views are spectacular and it accommodates our family of 5 with no problem. The owners are continually updating the property (new couch, new fridge, new king bed and new paint job on the exterior) and the home is warm and inviting. We love staying here! Clean, close and cozy
This was our second time renting this home and we just adore everything about it. The hosts are wonderful, the proximity is perfect, it’s quiet; we will continue to come back as long as the owners list it. There’s five of us now, two adults, one child, one toddler and a baby. It is safe and the check in and check out process is a breeze.

We have stayed at this property several times and always have a wonderful time. We were excited to see the improvements the owners have made to the property and enjoyed our time there immensely. This little home was just what we needed. Nestled between two other beachfront properties, this house may not have had an unobstructed view,, but was perfectly placed to walk out every morning and night for a stroll.
Check in process was super easy, great communication, and adjustments. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This time, we took our three babies with us for an end of summer vacay and they had the best time. They loved the house as much as we did and as always, the communication with the owner was excellent. We will be back, again.

Even though the AC went out in the middle of our stay, and we had to find another place, I'm still giving this place 5 stars. The owners were very easy to get in touch with, and when they couldn't find anybody to look at the AC because it was a Sunday, they drove over themselves to try to fix it. When we realized it wasn't going to work out, Tanya found us a couple other options that were available, she gave us a refund for the nights we lost, and she made sure VRBO gave us a partial lodging tax refund. I never even thought about that! You can be sure that if anything goes wrong during your stay, the owners will go above and beyond to make it right. If we get to come back to Galveston, we will be booking this place again!

Great Girls Trip
We had a great time at the house. The house was accommodating and clean. The girls couldn't get the hot water to work in the showers but I did so it was probably user error on their part. The toilet in the big bathroom runs, so you may want to have that checked as a running toilet can be expensive. A little jiggle of the handle fixes it but other renters may not be as coherent to that fact. The key box is hard to open especially with nails. We managed tho. There is a lot of beach equipment downstairs which is really nice. The beds were comfy and the house stayed cool. The location of the house is a little off putting but the closeness to the water makes up for it. The deck was AMAZING! I love the fact that they have TVs in every room. I will definetly rent again!

Perfect Vacation
My husband and I wanted a nice getaway to the beach for our anniversary and this was absolutely perfect. The view is stunning, the house has everything you need, the check in process was stress free, and Tanya was an amazing host. We are already planning our trip back to this location!

Just perfect
This was the perfect location... just 1 house away from the beach. Meals on the deck overlooking the ocean were lovely. The sheets and towels were soft and many of the cooking items looked brand new. The owner was great to work with and we extended our stay an extra night even though it was rainy because it was just so fantastic.

Excellent Location; Safe; Would Stay Again
Arrival and communication with the owner was excellent. Tanya typically would answer any questions we had within an hour. The property is in a wonderful spot, far enough off the beach to not hear the general population noise, but close enough to hear the waves crash at night. The property was clean and inviting with lots of excellent natural light and a good, homey feel to it. My spouse and I and our two small children found it to be delightful. We would absolutely stay here again and look forward to it. Thank you Tanya!

Perfect Beach Getaway
This house was perfect for my family and our dogs. The location is so close to the beach and the neighborhood was very quiet in the evenings. We were able to socially distance as the beach was not too crowded and there was plenty of space to set up a tent. We didn’t spend a lot of time indoors, but the beds were comfortable and the house was spotless! The deck is so nice we spent the majority of the time there watching and listening to the waves. The gate at the top of the stairs outside leading to the deck was perfect for our dogs. Host was very responsive and the price is very affordable. We loved our stay and we will definitely be back!
