About this house rental
Situated in Torrance, this lovely house for $558 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. HOME away from HOME Family retreat, located only TEN MINUTES walk to the beach through the beautiful neighborhood. Our house has a large enclosed yard to enjoy family time after a day of surfing, swimming, hiking and exploring or visiting California's theme parks. Backyard features BBQ, patio with fire pit and private hot tub. Enjoy a sip of coffee in the breakfast nook in the fully equipped kitchen off of the spacious dining room/living room. There are two bedrooms on this level. Master Bedroom with queen size bed and private bathroom/shower and dressing area. Another bedroom with queen size bed and a full guest bathroom. Downstairs is another bedroom with a queen bed and a sofa/futon that sleeps two small children or 1 adult. Great location to enjoy the CALIFORNIA LIVING experience. Our home is the PERFECT LOCATION. Easy parking, quiet neighborhood, access to LAX airport and Long Beach Airport. There are many great family activities within 10 to 30 minutes away that you can enjoy while also visiting many of California's theme parks Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Magic Mountain as well as Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the many Museums in the area. A 10 minute leisurely WALK to the BEACH or 4 minutes away by car. We are 3 minutes drive to Riviera Village with excellent restaurants, bars, cafe's and boutiques where you can enjoy the casual beach life atmosphere. Enjoy surfing, bike riding on the beach bike path, fishing at the pier, or watching the dolphins swim by or a sunset at the park overlooking the ocean. ACTIVITIES near by: -Terranea Resort and Golf course (10 min) -Hiking in the Palos Verdes Hills and cliffside (10 min) -Redondo Beach Pier where you will find fun activities for the family such as boat rides, gondola rides, fishing, kayaking, sailing, pedal boats, whale watching, surfing & swimming only (10 min) -Take a day trip to Long Beach Harbor visit the Aquarium, Queen Mary with bars and restaurants (20 min). -Take a ferry from San Pedro (22 min) and visit Catalina Island and enjoy this peaceful quaint setting, hiking kayaking, zip lining, boating … and after a day of exploration come and sit and enjoy our backyard in a hot tub while sipping on wine and enjoying the sunset.

This home was exactly as advertised but more charming in person. Great living spaces, kitchen (even had a kiddy table), two levels, and incredible back yard. 3 different wall units to keep cool for summer trips, which is not common place in this area. Spacious rooms and comfy beds..
Brian - the host - was extremely communicative and very responsive when we had a few minor issues. We stayed here with our two girls (5 and 3 yo) as well as my parents. Was plenty of space for the 6 of us and a great "home base" for our beach vacation visiting family and friends in Redondo. The neighborhood where this home sits is so charming and walkable/short-drivable to all that Redondo and South Bay have to offer. Highly recommend for your next vacation to the area!

Great house with full kitchen set up and room to spread out for our large family. Really private and nice back yard and the flowers were amazing! Would suggest replacing the master bed with a king.

The kitchen is well-stocked with every tool you could need and the flow of the house is perfect for family gatherings. The house also has 3 large screen TVs, and a grand piano. There are several grocery stores within a 5-10 minute drive, and there are several restaurants within walking distance. There is also a wonderful ice cream parlor nearby. The neighborhood is a little hilly, but it's a safe, beautiful area for a morning or evening walk. El Retiro Park is within walking distance, and has 2 tennis courts and a shady play area for young children. We've never had any regrets about staying here, and are already looking forward to our next stay.

Perfect home away from home,
We wanted a house near our family and this was perfect. The back yard was our favorite place for relaxing between social events. Only 7 minutes from kids and grandkids.

Fantastic, walking distance to beach
The house is beautiful, walking distance to the beach and to several restaurants. It was easy to get to. Brian gave us a tour when we arrived, there was a helpful guide conspicuously provided to let us know what to do. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Great spot to relax and enjoy Redondo Beach
Beautiful property, well maintained with a nice backyard for a BBQ and soak in the hot tub. It is a short walk down to Redondo Beach Riviera Village with easy access to shops, restaurants and the beach.

What a perfect house!
This house worked perfectly for our family. Brian was very helpful and easily available. The house is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with beach and amenities conveniently close by. The set up of the house is perfect: I enjoyed the huge downstairs bedroom and the privacy and access to outside it provided. The rest of the family slept very comfortably upstairs on the main floor. Among Brian's welcoming touches (such as coffee packets ready for us in the morning and a very well-equipped kitchen) was the invitation to use the piano. That and the comfortable sofas and great collection of books made the house feel like our own home. The large dining room table easily accommodated our family. We especially loved the spacious and beautiful outside with grass, trees, a patio area with a fire pit and hot tub. The set-up afforded great privacy from the neighboring houses. We certainly plan to rent this house again. Thanks so much for welcoming us into your lovely home, Brian.

This home is spacious & cozy & so beautifully decorated. The backyard is lovely - just a perfect place to relax. Close enough to the ocean for a lovely walk. Very nice neighborhood! Brian was very accessible when we had questions. Our family had a great time here!

Wonderful stay!
A great home away from home! We loved the place so much we wished we could have stayed longer. Close to everything: Ralph's for groceries is less than a mile. Redondo Beach Pier where we had some crabs and shrimps, etc. is a few minutes drive. Overall, a super Southern California vacation..

Luxurious rental in ideal location
We just spent a week in this beautiful home—it is our third time renting it for a week in July, and we hope to stay here again next summer. Vacations are great for “getting away from it all”, but at the end of the day, we still want to come “home” to relax. And this is the perfect place to do that. No freezing AC when you walk in, no hotel rug deodorizer smell, no hotel guests opening and closing doors all night. There’s AC if you want it, but the neighborhood it so safe and quiet that you can open a window and turn on the ceiling fan. There’s no carpet smell due to the wooden floors, and the cleanliness of the house. And the house is located in a quiet neighborhood, where the only sounds we heard were an occasional bark or a car driving by.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including a Keurig coffee maker, so we had breakfast in most days. The area is full of great restaurants to try, so when we weren’t eating out, we were usually heating up leftovers at home and maybe throwing a salad together to go with them. The kitchen has everything you need. One night we grilled steaks in the backyard using their gas grill—it worked great. Another night we picked up boiled crabs from the pier and ate them on the patio table in the backyard. There are lights in the trees—it’s a great place to unwind. There’s also a hot tub out there.
Inside, there are 3 large screen TVs, a piano and a keyboard to keep you entertained. There’s also WiFi throughout the house. There’s also free parking .
El Retiro Park is within walking distance , and has a large shaded play area with jungle gyms for kids to play on and a few tennis courts. There’s also a public library on site.
We love staying at this property—the owners are accessible and have always been very helpful when advice has been sought. When you consider the price of a hotel room, eating out, and parking fees, you realize that staying here is a much better value.

Stellar Property!
Four children and four adults, one week. AWESOME!
The property is VERY nice (nicely laid out, well decorated, great neighborhood, centrally located so easy access to all parts of LA County). For fun, walk around the block and see the neighborhood developer's home, now listed for $14.9m (including furnishings and history, 6700 sf, and iconic, so obviously a great deal).
The beach and "Villages" are easy walking distance; this beach is very family friendly. Handel's Ice Cream is also an easy walk (what's not to like?!).
Would I stay here again? Absolutely! In addition, I would recommend it to friends. Brian was an excellent host, who met us at the property to take us through it and politely discuss the "rules."
BTW...the piano and drum was a great touch (plus an electric piano has been added). Musicians will love this property!
