The cottage is a stand alone, custom built home, nicely situated behind a charming 1920's main house. It has its own private lit entry path through a lush garden, separate front entrance, relaxing patio garden and plentiful on street parking. The cottage was designed and furnished by a professional interior designer with attention paid to all the details that make a space inviting and relaxing for short and long term guest stays. This cottage is conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Redwood City and the Cal Train station offering (35 minute) service to San Francisco and San Jose. It's also within easy commute distance to Facebook, Google, and Oracle, (and their shuttle stops) and just 7 miles from Stanford University and downtown Palo Alto. The light-filled cottage features a spacious living room with comfortable seating, gas fireplace, dining area and well equipped gourmet kitchen. Both the living room area and bedroom have sliding french doors which open onto a private patio garden complete with outdoor furniture, umbrellas, water feature and gas BBQ. The well appointed bedroom has a queen size pillow top bed, built-in reading lights with remote, high quality linens, large closet with built-in's, operable skylight and black out draperies/shades. The modern bathroom has a tub/shower, heated floors, hair dryer, high quality towels/linens and extra storage as well as its own washer and dryer, ironing board and iron located behind sliding mirrored doors for easy access. Quiet central heating and air conditioning throughout. We can’t say enough great things about this property or Kirsten. Fabulous location in a very quaint and lovely neighborhood. Kirsten has thought of everything (including a binder that addressed every question we could’ve had), is always available and makes you feel warm and welcome at all times. A wonderful experience all the way around!

Stayed for over two months. The place was very clean and spacious. The environment feels very welcoming, from the garden path in the entrance to the cozy decorations. The location is excellent. It’s just a 15-20m walk and a 5m bike ride away from Redwood City. I was able to receive mail without issue. It is also very private and feels very secure.

This modern cottage is an oasis set in a magnificent garden! It’s even better in person than the lovely photos. Kirsten has thought of EVERYTHING to make her guests both comfortable and delighted. Quick access to all Bay Area locations made every aspect of my visit a snap. Eager to return!! Five stars falls short in reviewing our experience!!!!

I stayed here for 3 months during the summer of 2021. I was so sad to leave! It has absolutely every amenity you could need and was very well decorated down to the smallest of details. It's like a little secret oasis. It was really private, but Kirsten was also an awesome host whenever I needed anything. It was an easy drive into the city and down into the heart of silicon valley. The Caltrain station is also in walking distance. I highly recommend this property. Go stay here!!!

We stayed at Kirsten's cottage for a little over one month after being evacuated from our home due to the wildfires in CA. Prior to our stay at the cottage, we had been vagabonds moving from place to place, none of which could hold a candle to the cottage. Its location was perfect for commuting to Silicon Valley, its proximity to great restaurants and shopping, and a wonderful family friendly neighborhood to take strolls. The best aspect of the cottage was its impeccable design which started with a hidden private entrance and private backyard garden. The interior design was light and bright with high ceilings which made it feel much larger. The choice of materials from flooring, to cabinets and counters, and furniture was top rate. The kitchen had everything you need and more. Kirsten was a great host who provided a tour of the property to get us oriented with all the gadgets, and she checked in during the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. There was a notebook with recommendations on local restaurants and things to do, and backup info in case you forgot how to work something. In short, every detail was thought through. We would highly recommend the cottage for any single people or couples!

Kirsten's VRBO is so beautiful and relaxing. You start your visit by going thru a 'secret garden' filled with shady plants and a water feature. Then you come up to a peaceful little cottage that is so tastefully finished with thoughtful details and design that you never want to leave! You must experience how special it is! A wonderful home away from home!!

I rented Kirsten’s one bedroom cottage while moving out of the house I sold nearby. Sleeping and relaxing in this wonderful and quiet house is lovely. The busy-ness of everyday life is put in perspective. Everything you need is beautifully organized. Very comfortable bed, up-to-date appliances and gas fireplace. I loved the high ceilings, many skylights, large sliding glass doors and the private terrace. The cottage has perfect lighting options for both day and night - feels like every moment is a special occasion. Enjoy your stay!

This back house with its own private garden is in a charming neighborhood in Redwood City. The owner has provided for everything with great style - you feel at home immediately. We will go back and stay longer - super location in between the airport and Silicon Valley.

Cottage is comfortable and quiet. It is professionally decorated. Cottage has a full service kitchen (Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods close by) and also laundry facilities located in bathroom. Comfortable seating for 5 in living room and it is the perfect place to have a few friends over for dinner. You will get a “Good Night’s Sleep” on the mattress and black-out drapes in the bedroom are also helpful. Enjoy the private patio for relaxing, dining and grilling. If you like to go out to eat, many wonderful restaurants are close by. Places to visit: Palo Alto Farmer’s Market on Sunday’s, Manresa Bread in Los Altos (best croissants and bread in bay area), Mayfield Bakery & Cafe in Palo Alto (best breakfast), Sancho’s Tagueria in Redwood City, Allied Arts Guild (gardens and craft shops) Menlo Park, Cantor Arts Center at Stanford We enjoyed the wonderful weather (even in August). Location is perfect, San Francisco and San Jose both 30 minute drive (check traffic) and San Francisco International Airport even closer. Also perfect weekend getaway for people in the area. Wonderful location for visiting Stanford and we look forward to returning next year! Home owner is helpful and thoughtful.

Wow, this place has it all! It is a wonderful retreat, and very well furnished. Kirsten started renting last fall, after construction was completed. She really has thought of the prefect place to stay. The cottage is so well designed - bright, and cheery. The kitchen is very well furnished, and well supplied for the basics required to cook. The living room is a happy place to relax, there is a dining table between the kitchen the the living area that would make a great work desk. The lighting, and heating is perfect. A heated floor in the bathroom is an added "treat". The outside area is also beautiful and very private. Kirsten has the walk from the street to the cottage beautifully landscaped, and well lite at night. Don't pass this place up when you need to stay in the area for at least 6 days, you won't regret it.

I stayed at this charming cottage for a week. It is brand new, decorated beautifully, and quiet and peaceful. I didn't cook much, but the kitchen was fully equipped. The bed was very comfortable, and the heated bathroom floor was a delightful luxury. Kirsten was a very pleasant host. I highly recommend this rental.

My wife and I spent a month in this lovely cottage. Recently built, it has all modern amenities, a well-equipped kitchen, a small dishwasher and a washer/dryer. It has a separate bedroom, with a lot of natural light. It is very quiet and private. The owner was readily available and responsive. All of the above made for a pleasant stay. We recommend it and will stay there again.

My husband and I needed a rental nearby while our house was being remodeled. We were lucky to get this for a month, and would have stayed another month had it been available! It's a gem. Kirsten is wonderfully responsive if you need anything. But the cottage is truly fully equipped, so you won't need much. She's a designer and it's beautiful and has lots of natural light. It also has a lovely patio and it is quiet enough to also work there during the day, which is what we needed. Everything is brand new as it was recently built. Enjoy!
