Being right across the street from Long Sands is ideal if you plan on spending your time on the beach. Great restaurant, store, and ice cream all within 2 minutes.

We had a great time spending the week at this cute little cottage. It was literally steps from the beach and often closer of a walk than the ocean when sitting on your beach chair. House was perfect for our family of four with two young kids. Owner was lovely and checked in frequently. Would definitely stay at this property again!

The location across from the beach is fantastic! The Dairy Bar to the left has a crosswalk. The cottage has a very small bathroom, a good-sized living area & 2 small bedrooms with full-size beds. The wi-fi is non-existent. There is no yard but the front porch has plenty of seating. The owners were great about garbage – emptying the trash/recycling daily. Parking is tricky. There are 2 spots facing the cottage with an extremely small area to turn. The driveway is steep with no visibility, and you pull out onto a busy sidewalk. We had some strange interactions with the owner. I had a pleasant email exchange before the trip about check in/parking. We found beach parking on arrival. My in-laws arrived at 10am & I went to the cottage to introduce myself & ask if they could park as her email offered. She was very put out & said check in was at 12pm. I said I only asked because she offered in an email. She said she never said that. I chalked it up to miscommunication. I returned at 12pm & the door was open with keys inside. I waited but no one came. A few hours later, my sister arrived & there was no beach parking. We decided to keep our cars on the street & let them use the 2 spots at our rental. As I was walking over, my sister called to say the owner was yelling. She was extremely confrontational. I understand that she was not expecting the cars & there was some confusion, but that level of anger/rudeness was unreasonable & unacceptable. She said she had been waiting all day for me. I told her I attempted to check in at the cottage as discussed. Her response “Why would I be here? I don’t live here!” She said I had to check in at the front house & she had told me that. I had no idea she lived in the house & emails from her/VRBO indicated someone would meet me at the cottage. I apologized for the confusion. I apologized again when she complained that my brother didn’t use the crosswalk. She sits on the porch of the front house all day. We heard her complaining to other renters about using sidewalk chalk & that music playing from a cellphone was too loud. After meeting other vacationers that had similar unpleasant interactions, I was surprised it was not in any reviews. We heard stories about her calling the police for various “offenses”. The rest of our interactions were neither pleasant nor unpleasant. We look forward to our annual trip to Maine & have never felt unwelcome. We loved the location but would not stay here again.
