We were all pleased with the location and overall condition of this cottage. It had everything we needed for a great family get together. The host was very pleasant and responded to my questions rather quickly. We are all looking forward to our next get together at this location.

Sized right for a nice get together. The town and neighborhood houses are definitely worth visiting. Residents of area friendly and active. Furnishings old but mostly comfortable. The house needs a good deep cleaning and it would be easy to maintain. We left it cleaner than we received it. The cleaning fee charged should be used to actually clean the place.

The place is in a great location. You can walk to the park, shops, tennis, lake, ... The only issue we had was the cleanliness. They said they would address our issues.

We were a group of women who graduated high school together, celebrating being on our 70th trip around the sun. So glad we found this lovely place to spend a long weekend sharing laughs and memories. House and kitchen were very well stocked with everything we needed.

This cottage has a very vintage feel to it. It’s not fancy and probably looks as it did years ago. But it is well-appointed, comfortable and across the street from a lovely park and the lake. The porches front and back were especially nice. We arrived to it not having been cleaned but the owner made it right very quickly. He was more than willing to help in any way he could. I would definitely stay there again.

First, the property mgmt company was fantastic to deal with! They were extremely responsive and answered all my questions. Second, the area is adorable! The playground, tennis, and basketball courts are across the street, mini golf is down the road, 3 ice cream places within 5 mins, and the beach (pay to visit) is a 2 min drive. 25 mins from Hershey and 40 mins to Strasburg for the train ride. Third, the house is very spacious. We had 2 kids, 1 teenager, and 5 adults. We never felt crowded. The home was clean (except the oven) and the mattresses were new and comfortable. Overall, it was a great stay that we enjoyed immensely. I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a quiet, quaint stay with lots of activities within walking distance but a short drive away from attractions and shopping.

The house was beautiful. We enjoyed walking to the jigger shop and park with the kids. The lake was not in view and was more of a pond than a lake and was not included with the rental. Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the house and property. The shower curtains were dirty, and the downstairs glass shower had mold. The house was covered in dust, and the walls were as well. Outdoor furniture had to be wiped down before sitting on them. The wicker seat was broken, the doorknob to the bedroom with two beds kept falling off, and light fixtures were missing bulbs. They only gave us one key with three adults to use which was an inconvenience. The neighborhood was peaceful and family friendly.

We used it as a base to go to Hershey Park, which is about 25 minutes away - it was nice to come back to a quiet location after a busy day at the park! The beds and pillows were comfortable, we just had to bring our own sheets.
When we arrived at the house, it was much dustier than expected - not sure if it hadn't been occupied for a while, or if the cleaning service only focuses on commonly used surfaces without paying attention to walls, window sills, lamps, corner cobwebs, etc. A couple people in our group have dust allergies, and they were negatively affected from the start. It was also quite dirty under the beds (dusty, found old socks, garbage, etc.), so these areas are clearly ignored by the cleaning service also. Parts of the house were in general disrepair - some of the blinds/shades were broken, a leg on one of the nightstands was broken, a slat from the porch swing was broken. One safety issue - anyone 6 feet tall or more is at risk of hitting their head on the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs going up to the second floor (happened a few times to members of our group). With some extra cleaning and maintenance work, this would be an awesome house!

This home was perfect for our family getaway. Less than 30 minutes from Hershey Park and walking distance to the Jigger Icecream shop. We enjoyed walking in the gorgeous neighborhood of historic homes. This home has so much charm and the large front porch was great for relaxing and enjoying time with family. We would absolutely rent this home again! Check in process was very easy, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Freedom Hunters' volunteers enjoyed staying in a relaxing home away from the Harrisburg show. It was quite a jaunt to the Farm Center, but it was nice to get away and the view of the lake is beautiful.

We have been visiting Gretna for over 35 years and this cottage one one of the best in terms of size, modern conveniences (dishwashers, laundry, first floor bath) and roominess and location. The sunroom with fireplace is a great feature. Highly recommend!

House was great. Plenty of room and both porches very inviting to relax and play games. Neighbor Joe was very friendly and thoughtful with nice conversation. Lake facility was a great gesture as it was hot and we swam and played volleyball! Will definitely be returning next year thank you to Ashley for her help with booking

We have enjoyed Mt. Gretna numerous times over the years and this property fit the need nicely for both our wish to bring our Corgi and to be joined by several good friends from out of the area. Everything we needed was there regarding household supplies. A couple nice performances at the tabernacle and some beautiful weather were welcome pluses. Couple loud guys on the tennis courts one evening and some repetitive service vehicle traffic would be the only negatives. Not enough to keep us from coming back.
