It's a PERFECT TIME to come and enjoy this beautiful season and stay at a remarkable cottage. Majestic tree-lined drive leads to charming storybook cottage in the midst of privately owned "Mistletoe Hill" property just a short drive to downtown Hendersonville, the Biltmore Estate, Pisgah Forest, the Green River (whitewater and tubing), the Tryon International Equestrian Center, Flat Rock Playhouse/NC State Theater, hiking trails, the three county "land of 1000 waterfalls" and the Smoky Mountains! Ideal for a couple (or friends traveling together), in the former carriage house on a beautiful property setting adjacent to the owners updated historic 1930's home. Designed with all the amenities you could desire for a vacation getaway -- and a spacious, relaxed, mountain-style that the country-squire Lauren himself would approve! On truly beautiful property that was formerly part of the French Chanteloupe estate owned by Count Choseuil from France, via his appointment in Charleston. Your own private deck, a quietly gurgling water garden beside your cottage, a magnificent 350 year oak tree in your back yard -- with your own tree swing waiting for you! And yes, a great firepit. Beautifully decorated and appointed. And Firefly Cottage is always completely sanitized from top to bottom between guests. Located approximately 2 miles from the antique shops, galleries, fabulous restaurants and boutiques of delightful downtown Hendersonville -- and a short drive from the cottage to Dupont State Forest, Pisgah Forest and other outdoor attractions. We love sharing our beautiful guest house and property with others. If you have any questions please feel free to ask us. If we don't know, perhaps Jax, our handsome Old English Sheepdog (think Nana in Peter Pan!) will know! Nearby – The Gorge Zip Line, Flat Rock Playhouse, the state theater of NC, world-renown Biltmore Estate, Sierra Nevada Brewery, Chimney Rock (where Last of the Mahicans filming took place), DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tryon International Equestrian Center, Lake Lure (where Dirty Dancing filming took place), Carl Sandburg's Home, Johnson Farm, Trout Fishing, Whitewater Rafting and Sliding Rock. You will be pleasantly surprised at the size of the rental. The pictures do not do it justice. The high ceilings also help in making the area feeling larger. If you're looking at staying here versus a hotel, I would highly recommend.

It was such a lovely cottage! It was much more than expected & we couldn’t have wished for anything more. Thank you Roger for making our stay so wonderful. Meeting Smoky, the Old English Sheepdog was such a plus! Great location too!

Excellent in all regards. Clean and well-appointed cottage. Convenient location, close to downtown, wineries and recreation areas. Roger and Denise were terrific to work with, and helpful with suggestions for area attractions. We hope to stay again if we return to this area.

We found staying here was the perfect location. One mile from grandchildren's home as well as straight shot to downtown Hendersonville. Garage available was appreciated on rainy days. Hosts were always available for questions. We highly recommend this house. Only recommendation would be to put grab-bars in the shower.

The cabin is on a beautiful property. Cabin is cute, spacious, private, with all amenities. Large trees, swing and fire pit. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful cottage nestled in among majestic trees. Owners are a lovely couple who live nearby on the very large property. Close yet total privacy. Well appointed interior, bbq on the back deck. Close to town for restaurants or groceries. We would go again.
