Around the turn of the last century it was converted into a residence. At some time in its history it was a rectory and then late in the 20th century it was renovated yet again, took on its present 'castle' look, and was known as the Teddy Bear Castle due to the owners' large collection of antique teddy bears which were also the basis of the American Victorian Museum at the Miners Foundry in the 1980's. Lovingly restored to its present Victorian splendor and completed updated in 2004, it is now a perfect little Gothic Victorian gem from which to explore all that Nevada City and the environs have to offer. Walk out your front door, through the garden, and out the front gate, and you will find yourself in an amazing Victorian town, with beautiful historic homes, cafes, shops, galleries, wineries, and restaurants to suit every taste, all within a few blocks of your own beautiful cottage. Stroll around town and enjoy the ambiance, the art ( Nevada City has long been a haven for artists), the shops, and the mountain scenery.
