A classic Carolina-style property, this eight-bedroom oceanfront home on the OBX is well-appointed with an open floorplan, sweeping water views, real hardwood flooring, and an abundance of natural sunlight. This home is situated in the popular Sound-to-Sea community in the Village at Nags Head. Enjoy easy beach access from the private dune-top stairs, an oceanfront heated pool and hot tub, and proximity to all things Outer Banks while vacationing at Sundancer! Sundancer offers KEES' exclusive FlexStay program allowing you to tailor a vacation schedule perfectly suited for your family's needs. The Village at Nags Head is a sound to ocean community and has an amazing set of amenities which include private sound accesses. There are two piers situated on the sound side of the Village at Nags Head, both with sound side parks and available to all residents and guests. This property has 8 parking spots for guests. Want added comfort? Consider adding the Heated Pool option! A Heated Pool option can be added upon request for $50 per night of your reservation. This fee is added to your reservation at the time of the request, which must be a minimum of 72 hours before arrival. Pool heat must be added for the entirety of your stay. This pool is heated by a heat pump. An ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.** **Private heated pools will open on April 1st and close on November 1st. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6 p.m. on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter the backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days. No pets allowed in pools. Sundancer is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your pooch at home! For a small one-time fee of $135, you can bring up to two dogs to our pet-friendly property. No cats or other animals, dogs only. Check-In begins at 4pm. Your keyless entry code will begin granting access at this time. Check-Out is 10am. Photos make it look beautiful and perfect. However, reality is that this is a dirty, unkept and terribly uncared for party house. Will not be coming back.
Positive note: the location was excellent and the beach tent and chairs being set-up/taken down everyday was a nice touch.

Great location, beautiful view. Inside the house is in need of cleaning and lots of repairs. Mold issues, ceiling fell in in one of the bathrooms. The furniture was so dirty looking I went to the store and bought sheets to cover them so that we could sit. loose boards on the upper deck and a bad board by the pool. Kitchen faucet broken, tables need redoing, very sticky. The pool table was unusable do to the bumpers were so chewed up they were of no use. Such a shame to let this house go down like this. I was embarrassed having my family come to stay.

We were VERY disappointed to find many issues with this house. The ice maker and water dispenser in the fridge did not work. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes. The large tables need to be resurfaced. They are very sticky and can not be cleaned. The path to the beach is difficult to navigate and would be impossible for someone with disabilities. The house has roaches and needs to be treated by pest control. There are unfinished repairs on some of the walls. All decks had loose boards and railings and move quite a bit when in use. The boards caused splinters and the disengaging nails were a tripping hazard. Maintenance did bolt down a few of the boards but often when the wind would blow we would see railings swinging. The deck around the pool is also very weathered and needs to be replaced. Worst of all, there was a missing ceiling in one of the bathrooms with a very strong mildew smell. The room was unusable for the duration of our stay, causing one family member to cancel their trip. They did have a drywall crew come in and do the water remediation and replace the walls and ceiling. This took several days to start and to complete.
The concierge service on the beach was wonderful. We made sure to tip our guy because he was the real MVP of the week. Aside from the structural, pest control, and cleanliness issues; the view was amazing, the proximity to the beach was good and the neighborhood was very quiet and safe.

All though the home location is lovely and access to the beach really made our trip the home itself needs some serious tlc. The property was frankly gross, very dirty, furniture was disgusting and we couldn't even lay down. Everything was breaking and falling apart from the refrigerator to the hot tub to the active water leak in the ceiling.

The cleaning that needs to be done does not apply to the cleaning service. The carpets need to be shampooed or replaced, they are grimy. Wood framing around bathroom window needs to be repaired or replaced. Blinds/curtains absolute necessity in a couple bathrooms. Spray for roaches!!

Don’t sweat the small stuff, keep in mind this is a rental on the beach and just enjoy!

This location is absolutely beautiful! The house is so spacious you have your privacy while still being able to enjoy the company of everyone you traveled with when you want. Won't stay there again.
The property was dirty and everything was broken. The refrigerator, television, bed frame, dresser, sauna, and deck were all broken. It was dangerous for the little ones on the decks because the railings were loose in several places. This was especially scary when a toddler wants you to chase after them. The tv in the bunk bed room had a big crack down the screen and it wouldn't turn on. That was the biggest inconvenience, because on vacation we let our kids watch a little tv before turning the lights out. The house was not thoroughly been cleaned prior to our arrival. One of the beds didn't have adequate bedding in the upstairs bedroom. We requested (and paid for) the pool heater be turned on and when the pool cleaner came mid-week, he informed us that the pool heater wasn't on when we asked why the heater wasn't working. They did refund us for that fee at least. Good thing we had good company or we wouldn't have lasted the week!

Vacation
Loved the location and property. There many things: broken refrigerator and one of the TVs that was not working. This issues were shared and staff member was sent to make sure they were broken; however, they were never fixed during our stay. The previous guests left litter and pool/beach toys around the outside of the property that wasn’t cleaned up before our arrival.

The master bathroom on the upper level that faces the beach did not have a shade on the window so the next store house could see right in when getting out of the shower or going to the bathroom.
The pool pump broke and we called in the morning and it took them 24 hours to send someone out to fix it so we did not have a hot pool for 2 days.
The house could have used some things like a couple of spices (salt and even pepper), board games not just poker, more coasters for glasses, table for upper deck,
Also hooks in the bathrooms would be great to hang bathrobe for after the shower.

House Review

Mini Vacation in December
We truly enjoyed our stay. The house were huge and could accommodate everyone who were invited. We came together for a mini break from Covid-19 and to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. Recent stay
Location of the house was great and room setup was exactly what we needed. The house itself needs some updating and was not very clean upon our arrival. They did sent out their cleaning service to come back through the house and the woman was very polite and did a good job re-cleaning the house and provided all new linens.

Pleasant stay
All was well, location was great. Property was nice. One maintenance issue the water dispenser in the refrigerator was not working, So we had to buy water from outside. Other than that the stay was good, we will go back.

Our Stay at the Sundancer, August 11-15
Everything about the property and our stay was great, with the exception of our check in on the first day. Why, if the property is ready, will you not allow early check-in within reason. Hotels do that. We arrived at 3pm, and sat outside in the parking lot until the official time of 4 pm. Otherwise, everything was great. Keith Klindworth

Amazing Views
The house has an amazing view!! There’s a lot of stuff that needs to be updated including the porch (it’s a little sketchy in some spots) carpet, the pool, windows some of them had duct tape around them. There was a bunch of little things that were broken. It wasn’t cleaned very well there were cigar butts and cigarette butts left over from the last people as well as trash. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn’t pick this house again. Also there’s tons of sticker briers along the pier to walk out to the beach so be mindful of those. We had 4 kids 2 and under and a couple of them got stuck a few times. I emailed Kees about everything and they said they would put in work orders for everything. Overall we enjoyed the beach being so close. I would rent from Kees again because they’re very responsive....just wouldn’t pick this house.

Danger to Kids Zone
First off, the property and value align with what we typically pay for an outing of this size. Property photos are slightly misleading on it’s condition however.
To begin we walked into a house that seemed to not have been well cleaned. There were still food pieces and dirt all over the floors and a slight “stick” in some spots of the kitchen. There was even a broom, mop, and bucket left next to the card table. We had a crawling baby who we found on the floor finding grime and other items and trying to put in her mouth. In addition we even found pills of some sort (guessing an Ibprofen type). We put a call into Kees but no one came to correct the home. After they said they would get someone out there. We waited as requested until the 4PM check in time.
The next biggest issue was the exposed tac strips for the carpet in the kids bedroom. I couldn’t believe it, but they were walking on exposed tacs right at the entry way. After we found out why they were complaining about their feet hitting something sharp we decided to leave. The Deck was the same way. My older son got a couple punctures on his foot from exposed nail heads popping out and the wood being past due for surface restoration or replacement. You can see multiple banisters on the walk way just swaying with the wind.
The space had some usefulness to it, but I would not recommend this facility for family members with young children. We rent multiple times from Kees for family and corporate events. This is the worst I have ever seen and am fairly disappointed. I know this has to be a one-off because I have never seen a property in this condition under there management. Even the pool needs prepped since its getting down to the fiberglass coatings. The hot tub has multiple jets that do not work and was obviously not cleaned in some time.
Lastly birds live in most of the bathroom vents. They have exposed covers with no grates. So birds fly into them and chirp most of the day and evening in the bedrooms that have attached baths....
On a positive note the canopy and chair setup was very nice, and a welcomed amenity.

Excellent spot for a getaway with friends
The house is big enough to accommodate a large group, and the location is great. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and pots and pans. Plenty of seating both inside and outside for dining as well as socializing. Beds were comfortable (great sheets!). The management company checked in every day to make sure we had everything we need. We would definitely come back!

Great for a family vacation
7 adults and six kids had plenty of room. Pool and ocean kept everyone busy. We had great weather but there are lots of things to do in the area if that wasn't the case.
The interior photos are pretty accurate. The pics of the decks and walkways are deceiving however. They need some loving. There are loose decking boards with raised nails and loose or missing balusters in the railings.
Kitchen had plenty of dishes and utensils. The daily towel and bedding service was awesome. Maintenance on the windows and doors was lacking. This was not the most expensive option and we chalked it up to "you get what you pay for".

Sundancer
Sundancer accommodated our party of 16 very comfortably. The bedroom layout is well done. The kitchen was a bit small for a group this size and does not have a pantry. We improvised and used the window seat as the pantry. The living room and dining area was exceptional for our group. We enjoyed the long dining room table for meals and games. The poker table was a bonus.
The top deck gave nice views of the sunrise each morning. All of the ocean facing doors are misaligned, some did not lock and some did not open. The hot tub was enjoyed by all.
The can-de-sac was quiet and we enjoyed the short walk to ice cream shop and the outlet stores. The sidewalk along VA Dare Trail was wonderful for shaky walks/runs. Great location.

Some very good amenities like the dining table, pool table and living room seating.
The bedrooms were comfortable enough but the bathrooms, upstairs anyway, had no counter space and the shower stalls too small, also a broken light fixture. The blinds were broken in several areas and some couldn’t be used. The kitchen could use upgrades, larger counter/island, coffee pot. Difficult to cook for 16.

Run down and dirty
Location of this property is perfect—beautiful oceanfront and close by to stores and restaurants. However, EXTREMELY disappointed in the condition of this house and the cleanliness of the entire property. The house was overall very run down, worn out, not well maintained, and dirty. The carpet was soiled and dirty with large stains on all the stairwells and throughout, all of the rooms smelled stale and of mildew, bathrooms were all in horrible condition with broken fixtures, mold, and the worst part were several huge cockroaches, flies, and bugs found in the kitchen, and throughout the house. Disgusting! Ruined our vacation staying in this gross and dirty house.

Great location & space
You can't beat the location and space this house provides. If you have a big family, this house will work great. So many bathrooms and great room is wonderful for hanging out. The beach tent was an awesome add and appreciated for relief from the sun. Close to many grocery stores and local attractions.
It was also nice to see that they were constantly trying to maintain the property by replacing parts of fence and deck.
A few things, I wish the kitchen had provided: real trash bags, a dust pan, extra paper towels, dish soap and wet swiffer. We went out at bought our own. We travel with 8 small kids so messy meals were inevitable and wanted to clean up each meal.

We have been vacationing in the Outer Banks for over 10 years and this was our first stay at this home. The kitchen was under stocked for preparation of a family Christmas meal. We overcame by purchasing cookware at the local outlet. The coffee maker was not clean. The dining area was very suitable for our large family and we enjoyed the family fellowship. Maintenance was very quick to respond to our call concerning a leaking window from all the rain on the second morning of our stay. Maintenance immediately brought over an extra load of towels in case we needed them for the leak. Once the rain stopped later that day, the leaking also stopped. Although the bathrooms were on the small side, the soap dispensers in each bathroom were a nice touch.

Beautiful, well maintained home on the beach
I rented this home to host 11 people for a wedding and we all had plenty of space and bathrooms. The sauna was a huge bonus and we loved getting in the hot tub. Two things: the ceiling fans need dusting and maybe make the terms more clear on the pool being inoperable during off-season. I didn't know that before getting to the house. Otherwise it was amazing - from the balcony, we saw a pod of dolphins jumping out of the water and did yoga on the beach.
