Situated in Jacksonville, this charming house for $295 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Originally constructed in 1861, the historic B.F. Dowell house has been beautifully revived. Situated within walking distance of downtown, the home provides guests with easy access to the towns charming cultural fixtures as well as a variety of quaint stores. The market across the street may help guests utilize the homes large, well-equipped kitchen. Full baths adjoin each bedroom, an additional bathroom adjoins a laundry room. The homes porch opens to a patio that accompanies a spacious lawn. The B.F. Dowell house has been in the Hartman family since 1910. Guests may enjoy browsing photographs of the historic homes renovation over the course of 20 years as well as an array of older photographs. The homes original stained-glass windows accent the entryway and bedrooms, and the original marble fireplaces are situated in the handsomely arranged living room and bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, and an additional bathroom adjoins a washer and dryer and a utility sink. The master bedroom features an adjustable Tempur-pedic bed, and the adjoining bathroom includes a clawfoot bathtub. High ceilings lend each room a sense of airy grandeur The homes large kitchen includes everything guests may need during their stay. The kitchen opens to a cozy porch that sits above the patio and offers a relaxing view of the lush grounds that ensconce the property. A croquet set, charcoal barbecue, and patio furniture are available to guests for further enjoyment of the meticulously kept back yard. If you are booking as a couple you will have access to all of the home except upstairs giving you a better price. If you book as a family or two couples you have full access to all the home. There are beautifully landscaped grounds to enjoy. Near all of Jacksonville. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am happy to resolve any issues you may have. This home is on a large corner lot. No really close neighbors. Right across from the market. You can get around town without a car, however there is public transportation to Medford via city bus. This house was probably the best short term rental I've ever stayed in. It was the best blend of old and new. There are three bedtime, each with it's own bathroom. The bath attached to the bedroom on the first door has only a tub and not a shower but there's also a separate little bath with a shower on the first floor. The host Aldi had a very nice outdoor eating area and porch. The location is very close to downtown, within easy waking distance. We had a fabulous time visiting the area.

My husband and I stayed with 2 other couples. Accommodations were very nice. Enjoyed the backyard. And walked to the Britt. Will definitely stay there again.

Well appointed, comfortable beds, large welcoming outdoor space and great location. Unfortunately there was construction happening in a property behind the house so it wasnt pleasant out there until they left around 4pm. An issue about Jacksonville now is rentals cannot offer recycling!!! Because that matters to us we brought home bittkes and newspapers.

My girlfriends & I drove over from the coast to explore the Applegate lavender fields & enjoy quaint Jacksonville. The house was in a good location, clean & well equipped. We did have a little challenge with learning how to work the air conditioning so a guide would’ve been helpful & a place to provide for recycling. We loved our stay here. The house is immaculate, very well decorated, historical background was interesting to read, lovely garden and porch for enjoying a meal or morning coffee. Beds were comfortable and super soft sheets. Perfect place for exploring Jacksonville’s small Main Street, and convenient access to many pleasant laid back Wineries. Will definitely look to stay there again when my group of friends return for a weekend mini-reunion.

We stayed a week in May. As others have shared, this is a wonderful historic place to stay situated in an ideal location for easy access to Jacksonville’s shops, restaurants, and hiking. Grocery store convenient directly across the street.
Home is beautiful and comfortable. 2 bedrooms en-suite on 2nd floor. Large Master suite on main level w/bathroom w/ large tub, toilet & sink. A shower is located in the laundry room nearby. Well stocked kitchen. This home lacks nothing.
Add the fabulous outdoor garden area, porch, and sitting area, and its a 5 star rental. Lawn area for croquet & cornhole games (provided). Deer and birds seen often. We have stayed in numerous VRBO properties & we highly recommend this as an excellent choice.

We had a wonderful time this weekend. Such a great house to base out of. Great kitchen for coffee and breakfast. Lots of cornhole played in the back yard and some wonderful porch time. Would definitely stay again.

Secluded Victorian in Jacksonville, within walking distance to activities. One of the best VRBO's that we have stayed in. Loved the history of the house and all it's beautiful furniture, fireplaces and gardens.

We loved this house. So much character. We will definitely rent it again. We walked to town and to Britt fest it was perfect. Patio is great even had momma and baby deers visit everyday .

I stayed in the home with my adult sister, adult friend, her husband and mother. We only slept there and spent most time at our Friends parent’s home for a wedding weekend.
After check out we were accused of cracking a marble table in the home, which we absolutely did not do. We were first told the table was knocked over. Then when I asked how so or to provide proof it was knocked over the property manager said they “assumed” it was knocked over. Upon asking the property manager how she could lay blame on us with an assumption, the property manager said “we don’t know or don’t care how it happened.” I offered to send the listing photos to the property manager where you can see what looks like the crack already being in this table and the property manager refused to provide her email address (some customer relations) to show her what I was talking about.
I guess physics does not exist in the property since the property manager is blaming us for cracking a table in the center, which they “assume” fell over, but has no damage to the edge. The lack of edge damage would tell any reasonable person there is no way it fell. There only proof is the cleaners said so and noticed it on this cleaning. The crack looks to be in the listing photos and may have just now been noticed.
Steer clear of this home if you don’t want to have Baseless accusations thrown your way.

Great rental only a few blocks from downtown. Property was clean,as well stocked as any place we’ve ever stayed. All three beds were very comfortable. Beautiful backyard with deer wandering through. Great grocery store right across the street in case you need anything. Beautiful old home with time period furnishings. Owners should be complemented on everything they’ve done to make sure your stay is one you’ll want to return to!

The home is lovely and within walking distance of everything you need. The garden is large and has plenty of seating. Our kids loved playing in the yard and watching the deer. We stayed for a few weeks and had a wonderful time. Can’t say enough good things about the house or Jacksonville.

This is the most charming house! Every room, like the house itself, is unique and beautifully decorated! We only got to stay for 2 nights but found it conveniently located across from a grocery store, coffee, and the best bar and grill! It’s a short walk to the Main Street shopping area which was cute and fun to poke in the local shops. Although the house is amazing, I think our favorite thing was the deer in the backyard! About 6 rotated in the yard included 2 babies! It was so neat to see! We comfortably slept 4 people in this huge house but there’s definitely room for more! A great find!
