We stayed over Christmas and New Year's. Everything was great! Fireworks on New Years was spectacular! Best we have ever seen on our many Hawaiian vacations! Sunsets every night. 2 fully breached whales and a couple of dolphins pods viewed right from the lanai. Everything we could need in the suite, in kitchen, plus books and games, and tonnes of beach things including coolers, beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, and much more!! Turtles galore swimming up and down the beach front. so cool!! The beach was beautiful sand and the bay was a perfect combination for everything from swimming to surfing, to simply strolling up the sand. Fred was amazing, and a fantastic host. Would love to return one day!! Mahalo, Doug and Kim

My wife and I spent nine days here, and loved this place. It overlooks a beautiful, small bay with a quiet sandy beach. The unit is clean, well-supplied and with a beautiful view (13th floor) with a large, private deck. It has air conditioning but we never used it. There is great flow-through ventilation of tropical breezes with the sound of ocean waves. We bought our food at a couple local, well-stocked markets. The place is very secure and quiet. The owner is one guy, not some company, and he is responsive, personable and reasonable to deal with. We plan to go again.

Our stay was fabulous...it was hard to leave! The vista is amazing and the balcony was our favorite place to be. The place was beach-ready for us to enjoy...beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc...it was all there for us to use. The condo was also very well set up for travelers. Fred was a great host and responded quickly to our inquiries (though not much guidance was needed as it was set up so well!) Fred was concerned about the construction bothering us, but it really didn't as we were at the beach during most of the day. Thank you Fred for opening your home!

Excellent condo with a million dollar ocean view! The unit is quite spacious, has a large balcony and an updated kitchen. Clean and safe grounds with friendly security staff in the lobby. Great find!

Awesome condo with beautiful sunsets every night!!!

The views from this condo were amazing! The beach is beautiful and practically empty all the time. It was awesome!! The neighborhood is a little rough and not a touristy area at all.

Though the surrounding neighborhood is a little rough, the condo building and parking area is very safe. Key fobs for all entry and elevator access. Very kind people. The condo was very big and open with absolute amazing views of the beach. You can even look down and see turtles swimming along the shoreline. The owner was so easy to work with and always answered all my questions very quickly. The condo was exactly what pictured. It could use a little updating but it is the perfect beach getaway.

This condo had the most amazing views. The first day we were there we saw sea turtles. Plenty of coral for snorkeling. The sound of the ocean was beautiful as well as the beach area. It was almost like a private beach at times. There is everything you need in the condo from chairs to umbrellas to coolers to snorkeling equipment.
The condo is very comfortable. You have gorgeous views from every room and the fact that it’s an end unit is a big advantage. There’s everything you need for cooking and even a few necessities in the pantry like salt and pepper and coffee.. The bed is very comfortable, and we had no problem with noise around the condo. If we are lucky enough to make it back to Hawaii, we would definitely stay here again! The owner was wonderful to communicate with. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had an exceptional stay at Fred's Condo at the Island Princess in Makaha, Oahu. His place was pristine and had absolutely stunning views of the Ocean, with a fantastic balcony overlooking the private beach below. The place was stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay, from kitchen amenities to beach amenities. It was comfortable and very safe, with a private gated hallway leading to the front door, providing extra privacy, and a gated parking lot. A security guard was always available on the first floor and helped us with instructions/accessing our room when we arrived. Fred also had extremely detailed instructions, which he provided in advance and also included a physical copy in the room. He was very helpful, sending detailed instructions and reaching out to ensure we got in okay. The only thing we found was that the nearby area did not have much (as advertised) with the exception of fast food--it is primarily residential and there is some apparent homelessness along the main road. It wasnt an issue for us as we had a car and didn't spend much time in the area except on the private beach, but this may not be ideal for someone who did not rent a car or doesn't want to spend a lot of time driving to get to things.

This was our first time renting from Fred. He was very responsive.
The condo was well stocked. The views are stunning.
Incredible sunsets. We saw turtles and whales daily. Even saw a pod of dolphins and a monk seal on the beach!
Thank you.

This condo is excellent- with great ocean, beach, and sunset views. We saw turtles, whales, and sharks from the lanai. We swam in the ocean and hung out at the pool - neither were crowded or busy.
The condo was clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable - shower is great - lots of towels and linens - and beach chairs, umbrellas , and stuff. Everything that we needed and more in the kitchen. We relied on the lovely ocean breezes and did not need AC. We were very happy paying a more reasonable price for a condo that is a bit dated (has not been updated/renovated) - but excellent nonetheless. Loved wraparound lanai.
Fred is a great host - very flexible and welcoming and accommodating.
We highly recommend this condo and host!

We enjoyed staying right on the beach and enjoyed beautiful sunsets every day! Our condo was a corner unit so we had spectacular views from the lanai. A special treat was continually watching sea turtles from our deck swim along the beach and pop up out of the water for air. We were able to take some cute photos and video! We stayed until December 9th when the humpback whales were just starting to migrate into this area. Guests of this condo complex saw whales breach from their deck. This is a gated complex and the only negative is that there are no eating establishments within walking distance. It was a great place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. The beach is quiet and uncrowded. It’s a bit of a drive from Honolulu time wise but the traffic is better around the condo than it is in the city.

Fred is an awesome host! Everything was as clean as described and the condo plus the view were breathtaking! If you look for a great place with a perfect beach, feel welcome as we did! Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The view is picturesque, and the condo was perfect for our needs! It had everything (and more). It was especially convenient to have all the beach gear available (great sun-chairs and umbrella!). The owner was exceptional at communicating with speedy replies. Overall, we were able to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary in peace and without any major issues.

Great place
The condo was exactly as advertised. Very nice place, fully furnished and supplied with everything you could want - towels, beach towels, beach toys, chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear (none of which we used), dishes, pots, pans, soaps, etc. The TV worked fine but we spent most of the time on the wrap-around patio - super views, sunsets.

Amazing ocean view and sounds of the sea. Gorgeous sunsets. No air conditioning needed in June with the cooling cross breezes. Unit is equipped with everything needed for the perfect beach holiday in paradise.

Hidden Gem with Amazing Views Away from Crowds
Fred’s condo was everything we wanted and more! We booked around Memorial Weekend and only saw a handful of people on the beach. I don’t think any other beachfront property can say that about their location. Hawaiian Princess in Makaha is around 45 minutes away from the airport. You definitely need a car to go around the island. There is only one road to get there (Farrington Highway) so avoid rush hour times. Other than that, you will enjoy the ocean front drive on the way there. Makaha is not the richest of areas but you will enjoy local food and have a 7/11 and Tamura Supermarket nearby. The staff and security of Hawaiian Princess were friendly and hospitable. You need a key fob to get into the gates. It felt safe and secure in the condo. Security was there 24/7.
The condo is away from the crowds of Waikiki, has an amazing oceanfront location where you can enjoy the sunset views on the lanai. There is an ample supply of towels, linens, hand soap, dishwashing soap, toilet paper. They had an iron/ironing board , washer/dryer which is very convenient for a week’s stay. Full kitchen with coffee maker (drip and Keurig), fridge, dishwasher, stove, silverware, cups/glasses, pots and pans. We loved waking up to the sound of the ocean. Truly a beautiful place to stay! Thank you for sharing your space with us, Fred! We hope to be back soon!

Wife’s family has been staying at the Hawaiian Princess since it opened. We’ve continued the tradition with ours and return as often as possible.
This time we stayed in Fred’s Condo - and we have a new favourite spot. Great view, corner unit, well equipped, and great setup.
I continued to work remotely during the stay, and was very thankful for the great wifi and high speed internet connection.
We’ll be back to the Hawaiian Princess and will definitely be booking into 1308.

Slice of paradise
The location for this property is absolutely amazing. The views are to die for. This apartment had everything that we needed from laundry to the kitchen. The fact that it is a gated building, made us feel very safe. I would recommend this property to anyone who is planning on visiting Oahu.

Given choices of Eastside vs. Westside the Westside sunsets with a secluded beach and fantastic snorkeling with turtles made us happy with where we stayed. The height of the 13th floor overlooking the blue waters, sailboats and whales was great. This end unit with the wraparound balcony made the unit feel very spacious. Bonus of the wraparound balcony was being able to see the thousands of fireworks being shot off on NYE. My husband and I were in Sydney for the Millenium and the number of fireworks we saw was equal to if not better than what we saw there. Amazing! Loved the private gated entry as well which allowed us to keep all of the sliders in the unit open at night to hear the ocean from all parts of the condo and feel the cool breeze. We never had to turn on the AC. We definitely enjoyed being able to get away from the very touristy and crowded areas of Waikiki and North Shore. Plenty of amenities close enough. Definitely recommend The Beach House by 604, just a couple miles from the condo, for food. We did several days of takeout lunches there. Fred was very responsive to every email and his packet he sent prior to arrival was very well written and helpful. Thank you!

Nice complex. Area is a little sketchy for some, we were OK with it.

Communication with Fred was very easy. He supplied information before we even asked! Gated community with guards who are knowledgeable and kind. Easy access to the condo unit. Directions were wonderful and spot on. Upon entry to the condo we opened all the curtains to enjoy the fantastic view! Never used the air conditioning. Winds were all we needed to keep cool! Condo had all kinds of swimming items that we used. Also used the chairs on the beach that is right in front of the unit. We cooked every day so the pots and pans were well utilized. Stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher work! Board games were played and enjoyed! We went all over the island. Everything is totally drivable from the Hawaiian Princess condo. Grocery store only 10 minutes away. Along with fast food and gas stations. If you are wanting a mall it’s only 20-30 minutes depending on traffic! We felt safe and cared for during our stay. We stayed a total of 8 days. Would do so again! Highly recommend. Try it out you won’t be disappointed!

Fred’s condo was perfect for my 86-year-old mother, sister and I. My mother has mobility challenges - wheelchair, walker, shower seat etc. and Fred‘s place was a perfect getaway for us. We were able to enjoy the condo to its fullest. We had to take a whole day to rest between each outing and the spacious living area with full views of the ocean and the lanai overlooking the beach and bay was perfect for that and amazing. A car rental is a must in order to drive to Oahu’s other attractions. I also recommend stopping at Walmart or Safeway for groceries on your way from the airport. But if you wait to you get into Waianae use Tamura‘s market. Wianae does not have much to offer in the way of restaurants or shops. It is not a touristy place. Mostly locals. Ko’ Olina has some fancy restaurants and an excellent souvenir shop. We did find a restaurant about five minutes down the road called The Beach House – on Army St. – it’s on an Army base, but you don’t need to have a military ID. It’s open to civilians. Since I am from So. Cal, the driving wasn’t a problem for me. We actually liked the distance away from the craziness of downtown Honolulu and Waikiki. The Hawaiian Princess was a gated and secure building. We felt very safe. Security is there 24/7. Mahalo Fred.

Perfect Hawaiian beach stay!
This place is absolutely wonderful. The pictures do not do it justice.
Being able to overlook the ocean from your balcony every day is awesome. This corner unit gives you more balcony and less obstruction than other units in the same building. We would eat breakfast on the balcony and watch the sea turtles swim by as well as watch a couple sea lions come up on the beach.
The beach is also fantastic. It feels like a private beach as there are not a lot of people. So nice and relaxing.
The only downside of this place is it's location. You are a ways away from everything including restaurants and stores. Thats what we were looking for, but if you're not prepared, you'll be doing a lot of driving.
This place was absolutely awesome. Treat yourself and choose to stay here!

This property was perfect for our family of 4. Out of the city about 30-40 minutes. The condo is located in a secure building. The condo was dated but clean. It had everything we needed to cook and there was even beach gear we could use. The view of the ocean was amazing. Most certainly would stay again. Also the owner was very good to us. He let us have a late check out because our plane didn’t leave till late. Was nice to enjoy the property before getting back on the plane to Alaska.

Best views and beach
This property is perfect if you want to stay at the beach. The views are incredible! We saw whales and turtles daily. The beach is clean and so much fun with some waves at times. The condo has seen better days but only due to the harsh salt air and not maintenance or clean wise. We loved the huge lanai and left the giant sliders open most of the time. The security gate to this condo was wonderful to know that no one else had access.
The only downside is the location on the island but not the condo itself. The traffic is terrible! According to the locals it is always bad. It could take an hour and 45 mins from the airport to Waianae. There is one way in and one way out. Do your research about the area. It’s the poorest community on the island with homeless on every beach and all over town with quite the drug issues. We saw the daily drug deal on the beach to the homeless. Having said that, I didn’t feel unsafe at all at the condo or on the beach. Although there are some good restaurants, there is no cute town or any place to wander around safely.
We had a great time and enjoyed the condo and it’s beach so much!

Great location by the beach
There was a snafu and somehow the property was not cleaned after the guest prior to us when we arrived, and it was pretty gross. But Fred refunded us the cleaning fee and we asked him to get someone out to clean the apartment about 1.5 days later. It was overall a pleasant stay and a very nice windy location by the beach. The view from the balcony was great.
