About this house rental
Situated in Jamaica Beach, this charming house for $288 per night is a great option for your next vacation. 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6 "Turtle Nest", is a great place for a quick family getaway, vacation, or just a place for family and friends to have fun. "Turtle Nest," is six years old, and is a canal home. This house is a family oriented house, not a party house. The home is beautifully furnished with all the amenities included. You can use the kayaks/paddle board in the canal (provided), and head to the bay, or fish in canal. For your pleasure we currently provide kayaks with different size life vests, 14 foot canoe, bicycles (some helmets), stand-up board, and have several games for family fun. Jamaica Beach is a safe community where families can ride their bikes on protected side streets, launch your boat at the neighborhood boat dock, or walk the kids to the playground (newly built), and community pool, (5.00 per person per day). From our house you are only 1/2 mile from the beach. Jamaica Beach has its own Police Department and volunteer Fire Department that provide service 24 hours a day. "Turtle Nest", has everything for the family to relax and forget about the hectic city life. We have a full entertaining area with beautiful bar and grill, outside stereo, where family and friends can share special moments. Pets under 25lbs are allowed. Exceptions can be made by the owner regarding your pet. There is an additional fee for your pet. No more than two pets, 150.00 for one or two pets. You must be at least 25 years of age to rent. Cashier checks and money orders will not be accepted because of scams. Golf cart is available to rent with agreement upon request, can be driven to the beach, or around the neighborhood, and price is listed below. Payment for golf cart will be paid with cash and/or venmo upon arrival. No unlicensed drivers and no driving at night. Two nights 200.00, Three 275.00, Four 300.00., just pay when you arrive. We only allow up to six guest to stay overnight. Please do not try and sneak additional people in overnight. If you violate the six guest rule for overnight stay, you will be asked to leave, and you will not be refunded any money. I take pride in my house and want the very best accommodations for our guest. We allow no more than ten guest to socialize with you at our property during the day. The driveway can hold no more than four cars and the street is to narrow to park on. I want to make it very clear that if at any time the police are called out because of fighting, drunkenness, or other behavior that is not appropriate, you will be escorted off the property. I have neighbors that make Jamaica Beach their permanent residence, and I do not want them subjected to guest that are unruly. We do have exterior cameras on our property. This is to provide additional protection for our guest as well as to protect our property. I highly recommend that you purchase traveler insurance during the Hurricane season which runs from the end of August through November. If you are looking at staying at least thirty days during the months from November through February, please contact the owner for pricing. We pride ourselves on cleanness and provide our guest with the safest environment possible. I will meet you at the house and give you the keys and a quick tour and answer any questions that you may have. We enjoyed the peace and quite on the canal. Nice bikes for the 4 of us to ride around the neighborhood. We want to come back and try the kayaks. The water was too low at that time. Easy to get to the beach as well.

What a lovely property! It is beautifully, and tastefully decorated and provisioned inside and out. The owner didn't spare any detail. We found Band-Aids, toothpaste, floss, etc in the master bathroom.
The garage was stocked with all sorts of useful things, life vests of all sizes, beach chairs, umbrellas, floaties, sand toys, bikes... you name it.
We loved the Kayaks and canoe, we kayaked every morning, and one of the evenings. Mid day was still too hot. The Ocean water was warmer than most heated pools :) on this trip. Big beach's 3 min away, and the kids loved jumping in the waves.
We enjoyed the outdoor shower, so convenient. Everyone washes before they head upstairs and drag sand onto the upper deck and into the room.
Overall, we had a great time. Just about a perfect weekend getaway.

We had a great time at this property and had everything we needed. The house is very well equipped and missing nothing you could want. The fun zone is fully equipped to with kayaks, floats, chairs, bikes and the golf cart. If you are looking for a simple, fun, and comfortable get away, this is the place for you. We did it all from this location and even kept 4 teenagers completely entertained!

Turns out the underwater light was broken and the owner said she could not fix it, she would take it off her listing, but it is still on there. The listing says there is a washer and dryer, the dryer does not work. I texted the owner and she said she would look at it after we leave, there is a laundrymat nearby. I was very disappointed with both responses. The countertop ice maker- broken, and my son went to ride a bike- flat tires. I didnt even reach out about the second two items because I dont think anything would have changed. My husband truly felt that he deserved some compensation for not being able to fish. And I truly believe that dryer has been broken, the control panel is malfunctioning, if you get it to turn on it will beep nonstop and you will have much difficulty turning it off. It is a shame, because it is a super cute place, but we were a bit disappointed.

Was such a great experience! We loved the convenience of the canal at the back of the house, my family swam in it every single day. The kayaks and canoe were also a big hit with my family. We will definitely be back for sure!

This was the absolute most clean property we have ever stayed in and we’ve rented plenty of times before. The owner was very accommodating and the neighbors were as well.
The house had everything from cooking utensils, spices, games, outdoor equipment and a cleaned grill!!
There was even a fishing spot right around the corner within a one minute walk that was great.
We will definitely be staying here again!!!!

With the freezing temps over Christmas, my whole family couldn’t get together. So, we needed a last minute New Years getaway and this property was a perfect fit. Beautifully decorated, in a quiet neighborhood, and with an expansive view, the house was exactly what my family needed. Between yoga by the water and hiking at Galveston Island State Park, I was in outdoorsy heaven. But, I could also keep my teen daughters happy with shopping on the Strand and everyone was delighted with all the delicious eateries. We will definitely be back!

This house is in a fantastic location, especially for fishing and kayaking. We absolutely loved having access to the kayaks and canoe and the kids had endless fun. I loved the cooking area downstairs as well. Everything is exactly as described and this was a very easy, no hassle transition. Terry was very friendly from the jump and we really appreciate him opening his house to us. Definitely will be looking to stay here again! **My sons hauled in 2 oyster toadfish, 1, 15in seatrout, and a 23in drum in the canal here**

We had a delightful stay at Turtle Nest! The house was wonderful and had everything we needed for a lovely long weekend getaway at Jamaica Beach. It was fantastic having so many activities and amenities right at our disposal - from paddling around the bay in the canoe, to grilling dinner in the outdoor kitchen - we enjoyed it all. Everything we needed was provided. And the location is excellent - just minutes to the ocean. Highly recommend!

We had a delightful stay at Turtle Nest! The house was wonderful and had everything we needed for a lovely long weekend getaway at Jamaica Beach. It was fantastic having so many activities and amenities right at our disposal - from paddling around the bay in the canoe, to grilling dinner in the outdoor kitchen - we enjoyed it all. Everything we needed was provided. And the location is excellent - just minutes to the ocean. Highly recommend!

Weather was hotter than normal but we were able to enjoy the scenery, nice neighbors, and the water was perfect for swimming and fishing.
