Located in Durango, this lovely house for $135 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. City of Durango Permit #08-060 Just a note on the current Covid 19 situation; We *Sanitize* our vacation rentals according to the CDC guidelines with safe practices like: Masks, Gloves, Bleach, washing on Hot, and a whole lot of obsessive cleaning! Our places are very safe to stay and enjoy without worry. Also to note. The Saint Francis House is in the heart of Durango. There are restaurants and shops and trails! You can walk to everything. There is also a Tavern across the street, the patrons have lots of fun and it can be LOUD so if you are sensitive to noise you may want to book another place farther out of town. Thank you for your consideration. Saint Francis House: Named for the Patron Saint of animals and the environment, we welcome you to the Saint Francis House in the heart of Downtown Durango. This historic house is decorated in a fresh authentic style celebrating the natural world. Truly green, the house is powered by a 2KW Solar electric system. Amazing location with restaurants, grocery, trails, downtown all within easy walking distance. Pamper yourself in the beauty and quality of this house. A sublime place to stay with a full gourmet kitchen and two bedrooms this house is comfortable. The bedrooms have four poster beds with new high-end mattresses, fine linens and down comforters. Gorgeous new marble, glass and tile bathroom with a ceiling heater for deliciously warm showers. Lots of quality towels, and a hair dryer provided. Pet and kid friendly with a front porch surrounded by a securely fenced yard. Front loading Washer/Dryer with supplies provided including an iron. The laundry room is shared with the unit in the back. The kitchen is complete with quality pans, real knives, blender, antique dishes and real silver ware, lots of handy kitchen tools... worthy of Thanksgiving Dinner or relaxed BBQ meals for the family. There is a large flat screen TV, BlueRay DVD player, and Wi-Fi provided. Also a small library of books and DVD's. Space enough in either room for a small office set up. Only two blocks from the The Horse Gulch Trail System which offers world class mountain biking and hiking trails... a great place to hike dogs. Durango Natural Foods Grocery is right across the street as well as several other breakfast, lunch and coffee shops. The short walk to downtown is along 6th street which is full of eclectic shops and restaurants. Close enough to walk to the train station, or up to the college. With a location like this, the car is optional, but if you have one there is an off street parking spot just steps away from the front door. My daughter and our two dogs came to Durango to visit my son for his birthday. This property was a perfect location within the grid and down to he street from my sons apartment. Very clean house fully stocked with all the necessities and super cute. The host Holly, was very accessible and accommodating. We would be happy to stay here again on our next trip to Durango.

The Saint Francis House in Durango is in a great location; an easy walk into downtown, with a number of dining options on the way. The house came complete with everything needed for our 3-night stay. After skiing at Purgatory (20 minutes away) we returned to the house to relax with a glass of wine with cheese & crackers. All procured from the grocery across the street. Really a perfect location in Durango with great hosts, who left a bottle of champagne on New Year’s Eve. 😀

It was far better than I expected. I knew it was going to be great, but it far exceeded all of our expectations . I will be telling everyone who will listen about the St. Francis House. Great 2 bedroom casa! Clean, well equipped to cook in the kitchen or grilling out. 8 blocks from downtown Durango. We take advantage of that 80% of the time since it beats having to drive and find parking. It's just the perfect VRBO located in Durango! Owners are very responsive if you should have any question or needs.

The place is great however it's on a busy, noisy street with a patio bar directly across the street which was very loud a couple nights.

We arrived in heavy snow, but heating had been turned on, and we immediately felt at home. Parking right outside; wholefood grocery and liquor store opposite, so settled in easily.
The kitchen is very well equipped, and the bed firm and comfortable. There is a very efficient gas heater, but an electric fan heater is also provided.
The cottage is very close to downtown Durango, and Durango is a great hub for all sorts of outdoor activities and scenic drives.
We loved our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any couple.

What a beautiful house in a perfect location. Holly and Ben are the perfect host. They really pay attention to the small details. Everything we needed was available. Comfortable beds to a coffee grinder for a fresh cup of coffee. The check I. Was streamless. We will be back!

The house was as described. Very clean. Small place but had everything we needed for a week of stay. The driveway can be tricky to turn around especially in winter and with a big car. The owners were nice and shoveled the snow. The washer and the drier are shared with the renters of the back room. Overall, it is a nice place. We would stay there again.

I have stayed at this host’s properties a few times now. The properties are charming, clean, and comfortable. Holly is a kind host who cares about her guest’s experience. Her rentals are my go to places to stay when visiting Durango.

We spent a week at the house. It was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with cookware although a little short on plates. So we used paper plates. Initially I was concerned that the only source of heat was in the living room. But this was a non issue and we did not experience any cool temperatures. We will be returning to this house.

I highly recommend this cute house. It is on a busy street but the noise was not bad at all. The beds are super comfortable and such cute decor. The owners were very responsive with a few questions I had. It is very close to downtown and super easy to get around whether it be via uber or your own car.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this charming, clean property. It's just a short walk to downtown. Durango Joe's coffee, a health food market, and a great breakfast cafe are within one block of the property. Parking can be tricky when close to downtown Durango. This property offers private off street parking that accommodated our truck with no problem. Unloading and reloading our cargo was very easy thanks to the driveway access. As mentioned in the owner's property description, there is a tavern across the street. The noise from the tavern was noticeable until about midnight on only one night. We will definitely consider staying at this property again.

I booked this place because it was originally listed as having 4 beds & my brother & I & 2 friends were riding motorcycles to Durango. It has 2 beds & a fold-out couch. (Thank God my brother cancelled.) Upon inquiring about the back bedroom we saw being cleaned when we arrived that was now behind a locked door, we were told that was a separate rental & we could use it only for an extra charge. When I asked about the 4th bed (one bed in each BR, one couch in the LR is all we saw) I was told "the VRBO system listed the pack -n- play as a bed" & the owner sent images of the bedroom descriptions from VRBO, you know, in case I couldn't look that up myself. Really? My 2 year-old grandson has outgrown his pack-n-play.
The WiFi description was wrong so I had to ask for that.
The emailed instructions had the door code but also said to call/text for it?
The shower sprays out the door onto the floor when you turn it on & the bathroom sink spigot flops around loose. Who plumbed this place; a high school kid?
Honestly, it was adequate. But, the place is clearly an operation that the owner doesn't really pay any attention to & just collects money for without really caring about details.

The location was convenient. The layout works well for the smaller space. The parking is a bit tricky especially if there is another person staying at the other rental. We had three different people stay there during our duration. One family was very respectful of the parking, but the other two took our other designated spot. The host was super kind and addressed it with them. Whenever we needed something or had a question the host was very responsive, which we appreciated.

Good location to walk around Durango. Enjoyed the kitchen, gas stove, and bedrooms in this little house with my family. Our 4 legged members appreciated the yard and the walks to the open space on the Mesa behind the house. Would stay again.
