Situated in Santa Rosa, this lovely house for $137 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This amazing place is a delightful respite in a generally overly hurried world. It is certainly beautiful, serene, tranquil, retreat, which is a perfect place to stay the night in the country! Large windows on the back and front side of the cottage give a view of over 200 years oak trees. Buddhas decorate the space creating a supremely gentle, peaceful vibe. It is much like imagine staying retreat like. Cottage is 100 yard away from private gate, totally secluded, quite from main city area but is near great restaurants and wineries. We are just 5 miles south of downtown Santa Rosa and 2 miles north of Sonoma State University. We grow our own chickens, you can gather your own fresh eggs for breakfast. The kitchen is fully equipped with full stove with oven and dishwasher and a refrigerator with top-freezer. Keurig coffee maker. The private full bathroom offers a washer and dryer machine with detergent. Our bright living room has sofa and electric fireplace and dish TV ( NO HBO, NO SHOWTIME) and DVD player( bring your own movies). Our water comes from a deep well, many people appreciate that it has no water chlorination or fluoridation. Our guest binder is filled with all the best local spots, and just about anything you'd like to know about our beautiful country and beyond. We are dedicated to serving your every need. We will make every effort to ensure that your stay at AMITABHA will be memorable and pleasant. ATTN: No shower tub!

It was my wife’s 60 birthday and she wanted to go to Sonoma County for the first time. We could not have picked a more perfect location or place to stay. The cottage was exactly as pictured and the hosts had great local knowledge of some of the places we visited while there. We hope to return soon!

My wife and I had a conference in Santa Rosa. We wanted a quiet place to "retreat" to after each day's various meetings and sessions. Jesse's and Lisa's cottage was perfect for this. Very convenient location; beautiful surroundings; clean, comfortable digs; and wonderful hospitality. We'll definitely let our friends know about this gem!

My wife and I reserved this quaint little hideaway cottage for a few nights to use as our base camp for several days of touring Sonoma, Napa, and the coastal region and towns. It was conveniently located near everything we wanted to experience. The house itself is not large but it is very well laid out making it both comfortable and efficient. I can still smell the subtle scent of eucalyptus in the air early in the morning. The hosts were wonderful and always were willing to offer recommendations when asked. They respected our privacy but were there if needed. This was a wonderful property to experience a slower and simpler way of life with all the creature comforts. I would highly recommend this place for older more mature couples.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jesse’s place. Jesse was really welcoming and the place was perfect and very well conceived, with all conveniences needed, including a washer and dryer! Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at this cottage. The hosts were so warm and welcoming, easily accessible and made sure we were all set. The cottage itself is a large studio with attached bath, perfect for 2. It was very clean, bright and inviting. Would stay here again in a minute.

Overall the atmosphere there is very peaceful and healing. Just what we needed! Fresh eggs from the host’s chickens were also a special treat. Accommodations were simple, peaceful, clean and beautiful – just as depicted and tucked privately away with amazing hillside and garden views within wonderful scenic drives of everything we wanted to see. Hosts were kind and have done everything right to make this property feel like a sanctuary. We felt we had hit the jackpot for our short stay.

We loved the guest cottage, exactly as pictured. Extremely clean and some many nice touches. Fresh eggs every morning, turkeys, hummingbirds and beautiful flowers. The host couldn’t have been nicer. We visited two wineries, drove to Bodega Head, strolled in Armstrong Forest, swam in the Russian River and had a blast. Visit Truett-Hurst winery and enjoy their lovely grounds and farm animals . Hope to be back in the near future 🌸

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Everything was exactly as expected and we also enjoyed the patio and charcoal grill. One highlight was the first was the buck, momma, and baby deer that roamed the property in the evenings. It was all very relaxing. Lisa and Jesse were great hosts.

Well kept cottage located in the country of Santa Rosa with an eclectic array of flowers, succulents, and healing statues surrounding the cottage. Although the unit is in close proximity to the main house, and off a two lane road with traffic, it was private and quiet. Fenced in and a private gate into the property. Hosts were responsive. Couple things to keep in mind, as the description says, NO WIFI. I also would note, this is a studio where a full kitchen, living room and bedroom are in the same open space. It's well laid out with a separate bathroom, a full shower, stackable washer and dryer, and bidet toilet (nice). There are two skylights in the main room of the studio. As one guest mentioned, there are no shades on them. If you want an afternoon nap, or you like to sleep in, bring an eye mask. I spent two nights, and very little time in the cottage but enjoyed my time there. Would have liked to have spent time outside in the sitting area. The bed is very comfortable, but if you like a soft mattress, this one may be a bit firm for you. I prefer a firm mattress so I was pleased the unit was equipped with a good quality and firm mattress. The parking spot was convenient, but note, it's under the trees and the birds....well, you fill in the rest (smile). All in all, it was a pleasant stay. I would suggest to the host, please include the gate code in the check-in instructions. Fortunately, there was good reception and I was able to text the host. Response was quick. There's no remote for the gate so upon entering, you have to key in the code. Thank you Lisa and Jesse for your hospitality.

This cabin is my new happy place. It is small but cozy and has everything you could need. I loved the big windows and the good quality kitchen supplies. We spent two days enjoying the surrounding area -- tasting wine, riding horses on the beach -- and I wish I could stay for a whole month. Thank you for crafting such a lovely space!

My teenage daughter and I enjoyed our stay at Lisa and Jesse’s cottage. We had everything we needed and appreciated the privacy and freedom offered to us. As one reviewer noted, the cottage sits right beside the main house. This was no problem for us as the hosts were never intrusive in any way, and welcomed us to enjoy the entire property, which we did (looked at chickens, turkeys, and enjoyed the tree swing!). Very clean, comfortable, and safe. We would return. Thank you!

We stayed at this guest house during a girls' weekend. The location was great. It was next to the main house, but we didn't hear any noise. The property is beautiful and very peaceful. It was close to the excursions we wanted to take. The unit was very clean, well equipped and the fresh eggs in the fridge were a nice treat. Jesse met us when we arrived and showed us around. No mattress works for everyone - this mattress is very firm. We suggested that they might want to get a mattress topper for when the guests are looking for a mattress that is a little softer. But overall, this unit worked out great for our weekend.

What a great hidden gem. Stayed for 5 nights while doing day trips to wineries and the coast. It’s equipped with everything needed for cooking, even came with a dozen farm fresh eggs which were delicious. Kudos!
