About this condo rental

Nestled in Devils Lake, this charming condo for $124 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Fabulous ocean frontage! Oceanfront balcony and expansive ocean view from kitchen and front room. Queen bed in each bedroom, plus queen-size sofa bed in the front room. Gas fireplace. Marble counter in the kitchen. Cable TV. Since it is perched on the low sea cliff, we can enjoy winter storms and balmy summer breezes in the condo. Or campfires and long walks on the beach. An oceanfront condo with a fireplace is the best place to be in the world! No air conditioner is needed at the beach! The condo is on the second level, up 15 exterior steps with 2 handrails. New kitchen appliances. No dishwasher :( High-def TV and WiFi. The condo is equipped with basic spices (salt, pepper, garlic salt, onion powder, and Italian seasoning) plus oil and oil spray. We also have a drip coffee pot with filters, and a very adequate array of cooking pans, pots, bowls, casserole dishes, and utensils. I own the ten-unit condo building immediately next door to The Lookout. And the Lookout sits atop the garage, with no shared walls with another condo, so it's a peaceful place. However, in the summertime, the vehicle traffic up and down the beach ramp on the north side can be a bit noisy, but one gets accustomed to it easily. No smoking in the condo, or on the balcony. No pets or companion animals, please. Our Cancellation Policy is Relaxed and allows 100% rent refund up until 14 days prior to your stay. FYI, if you find it necessary to cancel at any point between booking or 14 days prior, we must charge a small 5% processing fee to cover our expenses. Location, location, location! The Lookout has the exploding horizon of sand and surf, which is always interesting, no matter the weather. This unique cliffside condo with a fabulous view is a treasure, whenever you find it available to book. One block away from Highway 101, easy walking to restaurants, souvenir shops, and a grocery store. Beach access is via 50 gentle stairs (with two handrails) or a paved ramp to drive onto the beach! In fact, during April - Sept, many people like to park their cars on the beach (right below the condo) when the tide is out! But twice a day, the tide rolls in, and clears everybody out!!! No pets allowed. Please do not ask to bring a favorite animal. It just doesn't work to mix animals, and folks with allergies in our private condo. I cannot host guests with dogs, because I have other guests, who specifically ask me for "allergen-free" rooms. I do not have pet-friendly rooms. Parking in a beach town is challenging but manageable. We have 11 off-street parking spaces. Some will accommodate large vehicles, others will not. If you are driving a small vehicle, please be considerate and choose a small parking space. Please be aware that a large 4-door truck may find parking in our lot challenging, and you might find it more comfortable to park on a side street. At check-in, we issue one parking permit for our lot, and vehicles without permits will be subject to towing. Extra vehicles can find parking on the side streets of 15th and 14th Streets. Please be advised, that Lincoln City writes tickets if vehicles park in their lot across the street between 1-5 a.m. Bring your own BBQ to enjoy at the beach, or bring some newspaper and kindling to light a campfire on the beach! (The driftwood is often wet and hard to start without dry wood, but burns great once going!) For your planning purposes: our rates are based on occupancy. Extra guests over the number of two cost only $5/person/night. This makes our condo affordable for both couples or families. If you arrive with additional guests who are undeclared, our extra person charge is $10/person/night. The Lookout is between Highway 101 and the Pacific Ocean, right down on the sea cliff! There is no better spot to vacation, and leave your car parked, and enjoy the 7 miles of Lincoln City beach! Souvenir shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. The Chinook Winds Convention Center and Casino is one mile north of us. One off-street parking spot is included with this condo. But there is also parking on adjacent side streets. You can park across the street in the city parking lot, but NOT between 1-5 am...the City will tow any vehicle there :( There are three public electric vehicle charging locations in Lincoln City. Lincoln County Transit provides busing in the city. Siletz Bay Airport at Gleneden provides Flight Transportation ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Bring your own BBQ to enjoy at the beach, or bring some starter wood to light a campfire on the beach! (The driftwood is often wet and hard to start without dry wood from home!). This is a vacation rental condo. In an effort to offer an awesome beach experience at a minimal price, we provide clean towels and linens for each guest's stay, but we do not have daily housekeeping, nor provide daily clean towels. We do provide bath soap bars, complimentary shampoo and conditioner in separate bottles, as well as complimentary coffee for a day or two (depending on how much one consumes :) For the shoppers in your group, Tanger Mall on Highway 101 in Lincoln city has name-brand outlet shopping for those who wish to cruise the shops, as well as many antique stores and curio shops. The Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center is just 2 miles north, with an indoor golf resort, seafood dining, concerts and entertainment, and 23 table games. The local Chamber of Commerce sponsors a fun program called 'Finders Keepers' and annually hides 3000 hand blown glass sand dollars and Japanese sea floats along the 7 1/2 miles of Lincoln City beach! Be sure to walk the beach in front of your condo and look along the cliffs above the high-tide mark among the grass and driftwood for these valuable collector items! Devils Lake, deep only in terms of historic folklore, is 1/3 mile wide, 3 miles long, and reaches a depth of only 22 feet. Nine species of freshwater fish beckon the fisherman, while water sports such as windsurfing, water skiing, knee-boarding and jet skiing engage other sports enthusiasts. Flowing from Devils Lake is the 'D' River, which holds the title of one of the World's Shortest Rivers. From its source at Devils Lake, the river reaches its destination of the Pacific is a mere 120 feet. Just 30 miles south is the town of Newport on Yaquina Bay, with it's working fleet of fishing vessels, plus sea lions basking on the docks and dozens of quaint bayfront shops and curio stores and restaurants. World-famous Oregon Coast Aquarium is also located in Newport, as well as the Maritime Museum and the Hatfield Marine Science Center. Your days will be delightful, whether beach combing for glass floats or shopping or dining or reading in front of the fireplace! Welcome! Your reservation for The Lookout is confirmed, in our private condo building named A Vista d'Mar in Lincoln City, Oregon. Our address is: A Vista d'Mar 1421 N.W. Harbor Avenue Lincoln City, OR 97367 Your front door is up the stairs, between our garage and the main building. Your condo is #9. The lock is a touch screen. When not in use, the screen will be black. Press the white Yale button to wake up the screen. The key pad will light up. Type in the last four digits of the phone number you used to make your reservation, then press the check mark in the bottom, left hand corner. Check-in is 4 pm. No early check-ins. On the day of check-in, if housekeeping informs me that your condo is available early, I will notify you here, in this convo thread. Because our rates are based on occupancy, please tell us of all guests in your party, or if your numbers have changed since booking. Extra guests over the number of two are only $10/person/night, but if undeclared guests show up, the charge is $15/person/night. The name of the wifi is VistaHotelWireless, and the password is aviewofthesea (“a view of the sea” without any spaces). In your condo, you will find a parking permit for one car, to post on your vehicle dashboard, for the duration of your stay. In order to ensure that our guests have enough parking space in our lot, vehicles without permits will be subject to towing. If there are extra vehicles in your party, they can find parking on the side streets of 15th and 14th Streets. FYI: The City writes tickets between 1-5 am for vehicles parked across the street in their lot. Staying at the beach goes good with seafood. Unfortunately, cooking seafood can create extremely strong odors. While we love to enhance the enjoyment of your stay, we have learned that your cooking seafood can dramatically decrease the enjoyment of the following guest. So please, no cooking fresh seafood while staying with us. Bring your own beach towels! This is a vacation home, so bath and kitchen towels are provided at the beginning of your stay, but not renewed during your stay. Please do not rearrange the furniture in The Lookout as it is hard on the floors and makes cleaning harder for our housekeeper. Remember the strict No Pets/No Companion Animals policy in our private condo. As noted in our description, our place is smoke-free. This also means NO SMOKING on the balcony, as the smoke will drift into neighboring condos. There's a "Smoker's pot" ashtray located on the north and south ends of our property, by the south dumpster and the railing north of the garage. We will leave a light and heat on for you, and depending on the weather, the sliding glass door ajar, so you can hear the sounds of the ocean when you first walk in! The fireplace heats well. It is controlled by the white paddle switch on the left hand side above the fireplace. Bring some newspaper and firewood and marshmallows and roasting sticks in your vehicle to enjoy a beach fire! It's legal as long as you are 20 feet away from any grasses or cliffs. Check-out is 11 am. Remove food from refrigerator, wipe kitchen counter, and wash your dishes before you leave.

The space was clean and tidy. The location is wonderful - direct access to the beach. Other people said the cars going to and from the beach was too noisy, but we’re from the city and didn’t notice it. It’s the perfect amount of space for two adults and two small kids. We will definitely be back.
