About this cottage rental
Situated in Lake Arrowhead, this charming cottage for $169 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Established in 1922, (just three quarters of a mile from the village) our cottage is nestled on a secluded half-acre lot on the lush side of Lake Arrowhead among the dogwoods, maples, old growth cedars and pines. When you arrive, park on our level circular driveway and then step back in time by crossing our seasonal creek over the wooden foot bridge. As you approach the cottage, notice the rock walls, live edge siding, and the massive front door. You will have arrived at one of the most picturesque cottages, in one of the quietest canyons, in Lake Arrowhead. If this cottage is booked, try our “Historic Hershey Cabin,” by searching for that name on the internet. Our intent is to keep our cottage in top notch shape - Therefore it must be left in a neat and clean condition upon checkout. We charge extra for excessive cleanup. During our major renovation, we installed porcelain tile floors, granite counter-tops, all new stainless appliances and a central heating system to keep you cozy. The cottage has been professionally decorated by my wife, an interior designer, who is experienced in incorporating comfort and elegance into home decor. It is furnished with both modern furnishings and antiques, providing the creature comforts of modern day while maintaining the old-fashioned warmth of a traditional Lake Arrowhead cottage. For your enjoyment, we decorate for each season. The focal point of the cottage is the exquisite fireplace, faced with hand-hewn, split granite boulders. It is accented by a rustic, knotty pine mantel and artisan, hand-hammered, bronze fireplace doors. The beautiful gas log fireplace ignites with the push of a button. What a perfect place to snuggle up by a glowing fire and watch a movie! Next to the fireplace is a state of the art, LG 4K, OLED TV with the super easy to use, voice activated Amazon, Fire TV Cube. We provide Netflix, Amazon Prime, MAX, PBS Masterpiece, Acorn, BritBox, Hallmark, crackle, freevee, tubi, etc. Listen to music on Pandora with our Danon receiver, with 4 Polk speakers throughout the cottage. We have very high speed (1 Gig up & down) Frontier fiber-optic internet, with an Amazon eero Wi-Fi router mesh system. The living room is a perfect place for you to snuggle up by the fire with each other, and either read or watch a movie. The "Hobbit" bathroom, downstairs, has a beautiful slate back splash, custom lighting and a unique sink that has been carved out of a large granite rock. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities of home. A high-end washing machine and dryer are in the hallway upstairs. The beautifully decorated bedroom suite (with mini split air conditioning) has peaceful views of the canyon forest, and cozy, upscale bedding on a top rated - medium firmness - queen memory foam mattress. This elegant room has a vaulted ceiling, separate sitting area, and full-size closet. Relax after a day of exploring, by unwinding under the rain shower head in the recently remodeled master bathroom. The bedroom also has access to an outside deck with two chase lounges. Recline in them while sipping a glass of wine and enjoying a peaceful view of the canyon. The cottage has a charming front porch and a secluded side patio where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner while enjoying the scenery and the sounds of birds. On a cool summer evening, relax while sipping hot cocoa and marveling at the stars! We provide an easy-to-use binder at the cabin, with our twelve favorite walks/short hikes in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas. The binder provides maps, descriptions, mileage, and estimated time, etc. For the more adventurous hikers, we provide books/maps describing hikes in the San Bernardino Forest. You can also fish and swim in nearby Lake Gregory or in Big Bear Lake. You will have the use of (1,200 sq ft) which includes the entire downstairs and the primary bedroom suite upstairs. You will also have use of all outside patios and the balcony. There is a second, locked, private bedroom that my wife and I use. We will of course not be there during your stay! The Lake Arrowhead area is a little hidden gem, with a quaint village, wonderful local restaurants, and various shopping opportunities. If you are looking for a romantic get-away, or just a place to relax and have fun, this is just the place. Lake Arrowhead celebrates all four seasons - warm summer days, fall colors, snow in the winter, and a beautiful spring. Our security system will be turned off prior to your arrival. We loved our visit to the cottage. Super clean. Beautiful. Well appointed. This was our first stay in a VRBO, and any future stays at other locations will have a lot to live up to. The reviews we read hyped it up, but they were absolutely right. Location was great and the cottage is even better than the pictures. Host was friendly and helpful. House cleaning service did a great job too. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here. Very relaxing.

Easy process to book. Owners highly responsive, friendly, organized, and really seem to care about their guests. Instructions sent before departure are very detailed. Everything at the cabin is labeled and instructions are left so you’re not left wondering how things work. Great attention to detail. Super clean. Beautifully decorated. Comfortable bed. Nice raindrop shower. There’s a book at the cabin with the history of this 1920s home. Very interesting and really shows the love the owners have of their home. Beautiful combination of antique versus rustic modernism. Fully equipped. If you forgot something, chances are it’s at the cabin. Super close to Lake Arrowhead Village. Parking on site. From car, cross a very well-made bridge to get to the home. Motion sensor lights at night. Easy access. Small little creek on the property. Outdoor sitting area. Wildlife comes to greet you. Birds, squirrels, chipmunks, butterflies all seen from big bay window or 2nd story balcony. Raccoons will visit at night so make sure the garbage is locked. Great stereo sound for tv. Speakers throughout the home, which is nice if you want to play music. The only downsides for us personally is no pets (so they stayed home) no tub (but really nice remodeled bathroom) and fireplace is more for looks than warmth (but you can control the easy to use thermostat). Most lights on dimmer. Love, love, love. We can’t give enough praises, We loved it so much we immediately booked a return trip.

Loved this cottage!! Such attention to detail. Everything we needed was well organized, labeled and easy to find. I am super picky about cleanliness, this cabin was very clean, allowing me to fully relax and completely enjoy my stay. I am usually a little anxious when not in my own home, but this cottage felt like home to me. We absolutely loved it!

This place is nothing short of amazing. Beautiful, clean, organized and so cozy. The owners have put a lot of thought into the cabin and have worked hard to make sure all was perfect. There was recommendations for things to do, places to eat and listed favorites. The cabin had everything we would have ever needed to make dinners, do laundry and enjoy some downtime by the tv with the fireplace. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing/romantic getaway in the mountains.

The Burnt Mill Canyon Cottage is just as listed, a pristine cozy cabin. Paul & Janice were quick to respond (if needed) and their cottage is perfect for a little getaway. All of the amenities are above of beyond and everything is clearly labeled. The books provided on the history of the area with detailed hiking options were a bonus. Can't thank them enough for a lovely stay.

The cabin is charming and exactly as described. We stayed for two nights, but wished it was longer. The snow dusted the ground, which made it perfect. Loved the location. You have no choice but to disconnect as cell service is nil. Can't wait to come back! Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin.

My Fiancé and I stayed at the cottage for the week for a winter cozy romantic getaway. The cottage was so beautiful, clean, Our hosts Paul and Janice did an amazing job making everything so easy and comfortable for us. Everything was labeled with instructions. Super close drive to the Village. Beautiful Cottage, Scenic Bridge. We really appreciated how everything was thought-out. This trip was really so romantic for us. This little cottage was perfect for my husband and I's short winter vacation. There was lots of snow outside for us to enjoy and we could keep warm inside with the heaters and heated bed. The place had everything we needed to cook meals, a washer/dryer to wash clothes, and a convenient dishwasher. This is a great vacation spot for two people.

We stayed one night for a quick getaway. The cabin is emasculate, beautiful with some amazing history. It’s close to the lake, Arrowhead village and many hikes which the owners provided as well as dining options. Overall beautiful place and wonderful stay!

Loved staying here! My husband and I booked this cabin to celebrate our babymoon and everything was perfect. From the decor, to the ambience of the property, location and all the details the owners put into the property with a detailed book and pictures dating back to the history of the town as well as history of the cabin itself and the renovations that have taken place. There was an information binder with things to do around town, routes to walk/hike and much more. Will certainly be booking again in the future and couldn’t recommend more!

After 18 hours of airports and LA traffic it was a joy to walk into this gorgeous mountain oasis! The cottage was truly pristine and their attention to detail was impeccable! From the quaint furnishings to the gorgeous bedroom and en suite they didn't miss a thing. We didn't want for anything and the labels on everything certainly helped us retirees who would have tried every light switch before we chose the right one. It was also immaculately clean and we definitely would highly recommend anyone staying at this beautiful mountain retreat!

My wife and I had a great 5 night stay in this wonderful cabin in the lush forest just 5 minutes from the lake. It was wonderful to sit outside beneath great pine trees that seemed over a hundred feet tall. The cabin was immaculate and decorated beautifully. We cooked a few meals at the cabin and were amazed at the quality of all the cooking utensils and everything in the kitchen. All of the appliances seemed almost brand new. Obviously we had a great trip and recommend this cabin for anyone that would like to visit Lake Arrowhead.

We wanted to thank you so very much for being a super host. The cottage has been the best of any cabin we have been too. We were very impressed by the beautiful decorations, everywhere we looked, the amazing organization of everything down to labels for all items and step by step instructions to use the appliances, availability of everything that might be needed ( phone charger helped a lot😄), and binder of information you provided for hikes and places to visit ( although we didn't go out much, and preferred to stay in and relax and enjoy the beautiful purch).
Finally, your cottage will definitely be the destination for our next break, and we will also recommend it to our friends who are interested.

What a beautiful cabin/cottage. Very clean and beautifully decorated. A nice mix between rustic cabin and modern amenities. It was the perfect distance from the village so you could get to places easily, but just remote enough to be quiet and relaxing. Comfortable cozy and again, beautiful.
My husband and I stayed for our 25th anniversary weekend. We couldn’t avast for a better option.
