An incredible property consisting of 4 beautifully themed and decorated bedrooms incorporating the South Africa vibe. The stay includes 24 hour access to an inviting lounge living room (opposite a gorgeous pool surrounded by greenery, squirrels, and the odd monkey) that felt like a home away from home.
The incredible hosts and owners Adrian and Marie greeted us with a free beverage and explained the area in great detail, providing maps, details, and recommendations based on recent sightings and weather - they even help set up boat tours or guided safaris. Every morning the breakfast spread was a vast offering of mostly homemade goods that tasted healthy and delicious! It truly felt like we were part of the family, even as we drove away to our hosts waving goodbye.
I cannot recommend this stay enough.
I enjoyed everything. I would advise that the bedroom and bathroom are separated by a large dividing wall (so not door), in case that’s an issue for some couples.

Marie and Adrian run this absolutely wonderful little hotel with an incredible eye for detail and so much love. Having traveled to more than 25 countries, I can say this place ranks among the very best I’ve stayed at. You can feel the love and dedication they’ve poured into every corner of it. Breakfast is a particular highlight — mostly homemade, and the omelette alone is worth the trip (it will make you forget every worry you came with).
On arrival, Adrian, who grew up in the region, sits down with you and shares genuine local recommendations. You can book everything through them directly, with no markup or added fees. After that, it feels like you become part of their family for the duration of your stay. They support you even with unusual requests (like when we forgot our jackets for whale watching, and Adrian lent us his own) and in unusual situations too — one day, our safari got delayed when an elephant blocked the road for over an hour. Adrian drove out to the gate himself to let them know what was going on, and waited there for almost an hour after closing time until we finally arrived. I have never experienced this level of care for every single guest.
The garden is beautiful, and the rooms are big, clean, fresh, and perfectly fit the vibe of St. Lucia. There’s a pool to use, and dogs you’re welcome to cuddle with (no pressure if that’s not your thing).

The best Guesthouse in KZN! Hosts Adrian and Marie are so warm and friendly, generous and soul people! True SA hospitality! Clean, beautiful and just the best breakfast in town!
Much too short stay! St Lucia has so much to offer!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay at Kwalucia. The room was spacious, quiet and beautifully furnished. Surrounded by a lush garden and quick easy walk to the local shops and restaurants as well as walks to the beach and beyons. The breakfasts were delicious and the hosts made me feel at home with local advice.
