The Neighborhood: Arts & Warehouse District - Arts District, an eclectic area of Art Galleries along Julia St and surroundings street. The building sits at the corner of Julia and St. Charles Ave, where we have so many restaurants, coffee shops, bar and grills, within a 4 block walk. The must visit World War II Museum is a mere 3 blocks away. A majority of the original warehouses that stored all the goods and merchandise off loaded from the Port of New Orleans Steamships have now been developed into residential housing. Getting Around: Walking is the best way to get around in the downtown New Orleans and when you get tired, rideshare (Uber/Lift/KrewCar) and taxi's are generally readily available. Or hop on one of our famous streetcars to see two major routes throughout the City. The St. Charles Ave. streetcars are Green and head away from downtown on St. Charles Ave. The Garden District, where you will see the beautifully maintained mansions, passing Loyola and Tulane Universities, Audubon Park, and the Audubon Zoo. Red Streetcars travel along Canal Blvd. from the Mississippi River out to City Park. The streetcars are cash only, unless you buy a pass. The Hop on Hop off tour busses circulate around some of the more popular areas of downtown and offer pickup every 30 minutes. The Algiers Ferry is a fun way to get across the river. It runs from Canal street to Algiers throughout the day. Algiers is a small neighborhood and very walkable. Enjoy a quick bite to eat then just enjoy walking through the historic houses. Bicycle rentals are is also a great way to get around and can be rented from various locations throughout downtown. There are bike rental options like Blue Bike with multiple locations throughout the city and also tour companies that have guided bike tours.
