Overall outstanding place with a lot to offer!! The location embodies the best of the Southbay beach scene. 1 block to Burnout & strand, and 1 block to the shops/restaurants of Hollywood Riviera. Cozy cabin feel, the common courtyard is beautifully maintained, private and inviting. The one minor downside we experienced was the bright ambient lighting in both bedrooms at night which is coming from outdoor lighting from a multi-story apartment building through angled windows near the ceiling. This is mentioned in other reviews, but we ignored it as being someone not liking natural ambient lighting. This not “natural lighting”, rather an unnatural diffused day-like light, all night long, and it definitely messes with the circadian sleep pattern. (aka waking up at 3 AM thinking it is now day time). The windows have no shades and can’t really be covered without a customized solution because they are not rectangular, rather they follow the roof pitch on the ceiling. So it will take a little effort for the owner to resolve, but hopefully they will consider addressing the issue. That said - we got used to the issue for the most part. Everything else was perfect. We are Southbay locals getting ready to move out of state so we are very familiar with this area. For us, this really was an ideal location to bid adieu to the Sothern California beach culture we grew up with. Aside from the sleep light issue, which we felt was important to bring forward, we highly recommend

Overall, this property is in a great location to walk to nearby shops and the beach. However, if you plan to go around LA, Redondo Beach is not near a major freeway so it takes 40+ minutes to go anywhere else typically. The property has an amazingly cared for courtyard with gorgeous plants. They provide abundant cleaning supplies and some small touches like fresh soap and lotion. However, it’s sold as a long term stay property and is NOT furnished like one. I specifically emailed in advance to ask if standard kitchen items like a blender would be present (prepared to bring our own if not) and was assured it was. There are no spices, kitchen basics, peelers, measuring spoons, etc. If you plan to use this kitchen to cook, you’ll need to bring your own supplies or buy them. Generally, communication was poor. We would reach out and never get answers to questions like “What is the check out process?” At one point, energy was cut off from 10 PM to 8 AM with no prior notice and no acknowledgement when we reached out to ask. If you come in summer months, be prepared that there is no AC. While many windows open, the fans still only do so much. If you are heat sensitive, I recommend an alternative place. If not, it’s a great setup for fresh air. The high windows do not have curtains or covers, which makes sleeping at night hard in this unit. The giant mirror closet doors bounce the light around. We found it very hard to sleep, particularly on the creaky beds. These could use an upgrade. Included desk, seating and TV setup were all lovely. The washer/dryer was broken about once per month, for a week each. Lastly, the internet is okay for WFH individuals on video meetings. However, this unit seems to sit between two modems so you have to know the right password per room and can’t move devices around. That was incredibly frustrating. The owner/manager needs to identify the right password per room and tell the people staying or give the unit it’s own modem to cover the full unit. Overall, I’d recommend this as a budget stay for people who want to enjoy Redondo Beach specifically and like to interact with neighbors. Not good for home chefs, LA sightseers, or optimal sleep setup folks. Enjoy!

The managers were easy to communicate with and the unit was fantastic! They weren't kidding about how amazing the location is short walk to ocean and to ships/restaurants. As a single woman, I loved how secure the courtyard layout felt. The unit had everything I needed and more than I expected. I appreciated how well-supplied the unit was: tp, puffs, garbage bags, saran wrap, soaps, cleaning supplies and tools. Plenty of towels. My only suggestion would be to add some pint glasses to the kitchenware (I bought solo cups for my stay). And I personally would have enjoyed more pillows. But the bed and bedding was very comfortable. I would love to stay here again!!
