Nestled in Southwest Harbor, this charming house for $950 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. A luxurious getaway (sleeps 10) on 2 wooded acres shared with the Carriage House (sleeps 6 and is rented separately). Situated a short distance from the ocean, with wonderful water views. Eagles, fox, deer, giant heron and other wildlife are often sighted on the property and nearby protected marshland. Explore the shore via a walking right of way to the ocean. Short distance to Acadia National Park and other island attractions. Infants under 12 months of age at time of stay are not included in guest count. Cove House has 5BR/3BA; base rate is for 8 guests. Additional guests up to 10 is $25 pp/night.

Lovely spot overlooking the water. Number of rooms and beds perfect for our family. It was a little buggy outside. Not sure if this is typical or due to rain.
Make sure to bring bug spray.
We would stay here again. Nicely maintained home. Quiet and peaceful.

It was everything we hoped for in a Maine trip. The house was beautiful and well stocked and we took full advantage of the kayaks and canoes after our early day adventures/hikes. About 30 minutes to Bar Harbor(loved that cute town)-amazing trip was had by all:)) Thank you Kim!

Overall great property. Lovely location, easy travel to our main attraction, Bar Harbor and Acadia. House requires some maintenance, towel bar upstairs common bathroom falls off the wall, curtains at glass sliding door in upstairs bedroom fall off the wall and weigh a ton when hitting you on the head, ceiling fan in twin bed room is wobbly and loud - its the details that require attention. Mosquitos made it nearly impossible to enjoy the best features of the house - the waterfront and fire pit - it was immensely understated on how ruthless the mosquitos would be even with bug spray....Lastly, owner is very kind and personable; however, it is uncomfortable with her just showing up on property with no warning, for the dog and or gardens...some may like this interaction, I do not. Again, overall great property; take or leave the feedback it is only meant to assist future bookings. Main is beautiful, we will be back- the Northeast Harbor area will be our future booking destination. Sincerely.

This home is magical! We stayed here in the fall time to go explore the beautiful fall colors of Acadia National Park, but we found ourselves spending many hours just basking in this home and the secluded, private cove that it sits on. We spent hours wandering the rocky shoreline and exploring. We watched so many sunsets while our kids skipped rocks and looked for sea creatures to observe. We went out at night to star gaze, and used flashlights to observe crabs have an epic fight! The home is beautiful with absolutely everything we needed. The beds were all comfy, the balconies offered a peaceful morning view while we watched the early morning wildlife—deer, an adorable seal, chipmunks, and birds of many kinds. We had a lovely campfire one night, and enjoyed the gas fireplace indoors on chilly evenings. The home is spacious with many windows that let a glow of daylight fill the rooms. The owners were very accommodating and easy to reach for any questions we had. I highly recommend this home!

Cove House was just perfect for our family! Beautiful views of the Cove and lots of space to spread out yet cozy at the same time. We all said everything was even better in person than the pictures… Comfortable beds with great linens, a gas fireplace for the cooler nights and a well appointed kitchen. My family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The space was perfect for us. The view of the water and access to kayaks and canoe was a bonus. House was well stocked and had all we needed for cooking meals. Kim is a great host.

We had a wonderful vacation at the cove house. The house was big enough for all 10 of us. It was our first trip to Maine and we love it.
Things I wish I would have know before I went…..
1. Bring your own bags for groceries and overall shopping ( Maine is bagless).
2. You can’t bring too much bug spray.
We are already talking about when we can go back. Loved it!

This house plus the adjacent carriage house were perfect for our family of 12. We loved being on the quieter side of the island, close enough to Bar Harbor but away from the crowds. Beautiful property with a view of the cove.
On the quiet side of MDI, this property is beautiful outside and inside. Comfortable rooms, lovely decor. Perfectly fit our family of 6 adults with 2 young boys and 1 young girl. Owner is next door. Instructions for the house were very clear. Just a lovely place.

Perfect Property for a Maine Vacation
We had previously stayed in the Carriage House property for our girls trip in 2015. When we were planning to return with a larger group this year, we decided to book Cove House. It was just as lovely as Carriage House and we love staying on the Quietside. The hosts were very responsive to any needs we had during the trip. We will certainly stay here again!

The views are great, and it was a nice quiet spot to come home to at the end of the day. The property was clean, and had all the amenities we needed. The owner was responsive to questions. We loved our week long stay in Tremont. We had 8 adults and 4 kids, ages 2 to 5. The younger kids slept comfortably in the main floor twin/trundle right off the kitchen, and the 4 and 5 year olds slept in the two twin room upstairs. They all enjoyed walking along the shore collecting sand dollars and playing outside on the grassy lawn. The 4 adult couples each had their own room and bath, as we rented the main house and the adjoining cottage. Everyone was super comfy. We enjoyed large meals at the dinner table for all of us, and the kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, etc that we needed. The location was perfect for us - a calm quiet neighborhood where the kids could run about, and a short walk to the water's rocky edge where we kayaked and searched for shells.
We loved the nearby town, we had coffee, and homemade pies, and ate at two locations for lobster, both of which were great, one was Mainely-delite and Thurston's. Both were really easy to navigate with our large group.
We didn't get to do the carriage rides in Acadia - you need to book those in advance We did a great boat tour at a place just north of Bar Harbor Bar Harbor is a great place for meals and drinks and shopping, or just walking about! It was a great trip and our place in Tremont was the perfect home base.

We loved our time at this beautiful property in early June. It is very quiet and right on the ocean. The owners were very kind and responsive to our needs. Check in/out is a breeze. Be prepared to drive quite a bit for island attractions and restaurants if you want to experience those things (30 minutes one way to Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mt.). Also, bring your own kitchen and bath supplies, including soap, cooking spices, coffee, and tissues. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Beautiful property
House and property are beautiful, house is right on the ocean on the quiet side of the island. Kitchen is fully equipped for all cooking and baking needs right down to 2 different sized crockpot. The only thing that I would note as a drawback, but not a criticism is that because of the exposed wood ceilings in the living and dining rooms there is no sound barrier for the bedrooms above. This was only an issue for our group when some of the group were getting up at 6 am to hit the Precipice trail and the remainder who chose not to do that hike remained up late playing cards in the dining room. Those that went to bed early got little sleep.
