Located in Uvita, this charming house for $84 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. For travellers who are looking for something more than budget, Ocean Melody is the place! Private and comfortable for two guests, this new casita is located in the coast-side village of Bahia, only 800 meters from the main entrance of the Marine National Park Ballena and the beautiful wild beaches Playa Uvita and Playa Colonia. Its location right behind the beach forest of the National Park, only 200 meters from the Ocean, provides a daily breeze and the constant magic melody of the sea waves. The house is made of local cultivated, environmental-friendly certified pinewood. The sea breeze is reinforced by designed ceiling fans in all rooms and the porch; a fresh local ceramic floor completes the cosy feeling of natural immersion. Air conditioning provides extra cooling in the bedroom. The queen sized bed is comfortable and equipped with 100% cotton bed and pillows sheets. A living room sofa bed is available for young families with kids. The fully furnished kitchen is nicely decorated with South Italian tiles. It forms a unique space with the living room, and creates continuity with the external porch thanks to the phantom sliding door. You will enjoy the flat screen TV, with satellite and video library, on the comfortable micro-fiber textured sofa-bed and armchair. The bathroom is bright and supplied with hot water system. There is a security safe for valuables. The spacious external porch offers two rocking chairs to enjoy the sound of the Ocean, while navigating on a comfortable high speed wireless internet. Or you can just hang the hammock and lay, watching at the coastal jungle and experience the sight of a monkey or of a loud screaming pair of Scarlet Macaws! The external tropical garden hosts a variety of tropical plants and it is equipped with a BBQ area, a round stone table and chairs, and outdoor shower. The parking place is private, gated and lightened at night. The private pool and rancho will make your stay just perfect! The village of Bahia (an old farm that became a tourist destination after the national Park was created) can be easily reached by public bus. It hosts all tour operators organizing mid-day boat tours of the park or daily tours to the more distant and spectacular Caño Island and Corcovado National Park. You can hang around walking or cycling (bicycles available on request); go to the beach and take a low-tide walk to the world wide known Whale’s Tail; surf a wave at Playa Colonia when the tide raises; rest in one of the local sodas and enjoy a fresh fried fish or a natural fruit juice; or just buy some food and be back home………all within few hundred meters from Ocean Melody! Absolutely amazing outdoor areas.. beautifully done and right in the middle of a tropical paradise. Perfect for 2 people. Loved having the pool and outside shower. The bike option was great. Took the bikes to beach and local sodas. Even in the evening rain on porches you stay dry. Would definitely stay here again :) and great communication!

The back of the property is it's own wonder with natural and manicured native plants. The private pool is clean and we'll maintained. There is a locked entrance for security and privacy so it really gives you the feeling it's your own place. The inside is modest, but has all the amenities and comforts you want. The AC unit in the bedroom coupled with the fans cool of the entire home. The town is quite, charming and off the grid compared to up North. A lot more of an authentic vibe with way less tourists. I can't recommend this place enough!

Ocean Melody is perfect for a memorable get away to Costa Rica. We had fund riding the bikes around Uvita with visits to the market , restaurants and the ocean. Enjoyed the yoga in the area. The birds, iguanas and monkeys were our daily visitors. My favourite activity was swimming in the ocean early mornings and at sunset. Massi was most responsive to any questions we had. Great experience.

The house was exactly as advertised and communication was great. We enjoyed all of the nature right from our porch! The proximity to Parque Nacional Marino Ballena was awesome - stunning scenery. Everyone we encountered was kind and friendly. Highly recommend Carlitos restaurant and Que Tuanis Cafe. We would have enjoyed having a car to explore other places, but not having one forced us to really relax and the natural wonders of the area!

We have been to Ocean Melody several times and it's been wonderful each & every time. The area in Uvita is close to the Whales Tale and great hike to waterfalls. The house has everything you need. Perfect cabin for a couple and beautiful clean pool and tropical garden in the back yard. The new colourful cushions on all the furniture was lovely.
We really took advantage of the pool to cool off or lay in the hammock & watch the monkeys playing in the trees through our binoculars.

First off, we already truly miss this place, wiSh this place was our home, unbelievable… what a blessing, heaven on earth and nature in its purest and finest form… simply beautiful, breathtaking views, sounds and smells. A REAL GEM
The inside of the cabin is as described. Small, very clean and functional. The outside decks and pool turn this into a 5 star accommodation. A true paradise in a rainforest setting. The huge wrap around deck is where we spent most of our time. It was difficult to pull ourselves away from the wildlife that showed up each day. Two kinds of monkeys, a sloth, scarlet macaw’s. iguanas and multiple birds visited thefts back yard each day. Our only disappointment was the 12.00 per day charge per person to get into the national park and the beach. A beautiful beach to be sure, but expensive for daily visits. Massi is the most responsive owner we have experienced. You can count on him to help out with anything you need.
A fabulous visit to the cabin and the area. Don’t miss this one.

He also sent us all the information we would possibly need in an email before we arrived. The neighborhood felt quiet and safe. You can not see the ocean from either cabin. By the names, I thought we would possibly be able to, so I just want to give everyone else a heads up about that. Each cabin has it's own pool and that was perfect at night to cool down from the day. I would stay here again.

Great little casita
Wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days in November 2020. The property lives up to the great reviews. We loved the little town and its quiet vibe. The property is well equipped and, quiet and private. If we ever return to the area, this will be our first choice in a place to stay!

Throughout our stay we saw a ton of wildlife from our yards: white-faced capuchins, howler monkeys, toucans, iguanas, and many other birds. The house has everything we needed - coffee maker and supplies, rice cooker, blender, pots and pans, microwave, and in Ocean Melody 1- a toaster oven. The general area provided with opportunity for a lot of adventure all within less than an hour's drive. We will definitely miss this place and neighbourhood of Bahia Uvita. Thank you, Massi. Close to everything!
We really enjoyed this studio sized home. It was just right for the 2 of us. Everything you need is close by- lots within walking distance. (Though you CANNOT hear the ocean...howler monkeys-yes!) The house is clean and the pool is a great afternoon cooldown spot. The seating choices are less than comfortable, but we weren't around the house enough for that to be a real issue. The property manager was easy to communicate with and fast in his replies. The keybox is a bit tricky to fit all the keys in, but you only need to do that once. :) We would certainly recommend this house, and would come back for another visit!

Great cabin
Best part of this cozy cabin was the amazing private back yard, complete with personal pool. Lots of outdoor living space, decks, hammock, rocking chairs. Waking up to howler monkeys every morning, and lots of birds through the day. Close proximity to an amazing beach provided for hours of beach walking and playing in the surf. Would love to return to this spot some day!

Could not be any better
This place was most comfortable and convenient- we especially enjoyed the location next to jungle and open area. The howler monkeys serenaded and hummingbirds danced as we floated in the delightful pool. Very pleased we found it.

Fantastic stay!!!
We had a fantastic stay at Ocean Melody one. The house was equipped with everything that we needed. The house is right on the edge of the jungle & we saw howler monkeys, white-faced Capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws, green parrots, and many other types of birds, a green vine snake, gecko, & iguanas in the trees, all from the privacy of our pool and deck. No need to pay a lot of money to go to the nature reserves, it is all right there on the property. There are many restaurants within walking distance and many more around the area if you have a car. We didn't have a car for the first week and really didn't need one. There are 2 local markets within walking distance , a community organic market on Wednesdays and the Uvita market on Saturdays. The second week we had a car and did a few adventures like a mangrove tour in Sierpe ( 1hr away), a day trip to Cano Island to snorkel, Alturas Wild animal sanctuary, the Uvita waterfalls, the Eco Conchales waterfalls (bit of a 4x4 road to get there) and a few evenings of sunset watching at a great little restaurant called Aracari. The people of Uvita were super friendly and we had fun learning/practicing our Spanish while they practiced their English. Uvita is super laid back and relaxing, perfect place to go and just chill out, we will definitely be back. Thank you Massi for creating such a beautiful spot for couples to come and relax.

Despite being located in the town it gives the impression of beeing in the middle of nature as there are trees surrounding everywhere and it is very quiet.

Everything Was Perfect!
My wife and I spent three nights at Ocean Melody 2 and we are so happy that we did. Massi was excellent at communicating with us and all the other positive reviews were totally accurate. I can't imagine anyone not absolutely loving the time they spend here. And of course the howler monkeys. They did not disappoint and entertained us numerous times in the tree line to the southwest Thanks Massi!

Amazing hideaway with beautiful pool
We loved Ocean Melody. We felt so relaxed and at home during our week there. The pool was so clean we swam everyday morning and evening. The area was so interesting to explore set in a rural village but in walking distance of the beach and restaurants. We chose not to rent a car and loved walking everywhere and seeing the people in the family oriented community of Uvita. We saw a local soccer game and went to the organic market down the street. The whales tale was so beautiful at low tide and also at sunset. The one bedroom house was perfect for a couple, so peaceful but with all of the amenities we needed. We loved our stay at Ocean Melody.

Peaceful, romantic, and private.
We loved our little "shangri-la" -- so peaceful, romantic, and so private...we loved sitting on the back porch at night watching the fireflies flitting around and during the day just "chillin"... the pool was just what we needed after a hot day at the beach ... and the kitchen was so well equipped-- complete with spices and coffee... Overall, we will be back again! !

Que dire !? Exceptionnel chalet très confortable. Nous avons appréciés les 3 espaces terrasse ainsi que le hamac à coté de la piscine. Équipement très complet et fonctionnel. Super point de chute pour visiter la zone de Dominical, Uvita, Ojochal. Merci Massi pour ce moment de repos et détente (avec même les cris des singes au réveil :-D).
