About this cottage rental
Nestled in Avon, this charming cottage for $286 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Maximum Number is Guests are 10. We Now Have Internet with WiFi. Directly across from Froggy Dog Restaurant; Perfect walking distance to Restaurants and Bars, No need to drive to dinner as several nice places nearby. Beautiful, 3 Bedroom 2 bath home that sleeps 10, extra clean rental for families, non smoking. Great screened porch area and large open deck. Open Family room layout downstairs with an upstairs den with a new 42 inch LED TV. Walking distance to the beach and sound and restaurants. First floor bedroom sleeps 2- one queen size with private bathroom. First floor also has laundry room with washer and dryer in bathroom. Second floor Master bedroom with Queen sized bed and shared jack and jill bathroom to 3rd bedroom. Master bath has Jacuzzi bath and shower. The master bedroom also has a private, porch and stairs to upstairs crows nest with sound and ocean views. First floor also has large open layout with kitchen, eat in dining area and family room. Living room has just been updated with new curtains and custom covered furniture. The children will love the 3rd bedroom with bunk bed sets which sleep 4 in that room. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. Lower level outdoor area has a grill and outdoor shower. The storage room at ground level has surfboards, several kayaks for one, paddle boards, beach chairs, beach toys, coolers. Backyard area big enough to play! We take great pride in keeping our cottage in perfect condition. We hope that you will enjoy your time here and we would love your feedback. Hatteras is the best surfing on the East Coast. Best Wind surfing anywhere! Great scuba diving in the graveyard of the Atlantic. Prime fishing and more! We have plenty of beach toys for all to enjoy from surf boards to a paddleboard. Several kayaks including an ocean kayak. Beach chairs and coolers. Walk across the street to put in the kayaks and paddleboard or pack on in your truck and try Canadian Cove 2 miles south on the right. The high speed ferry to Ocracoke Island is open. Hatteras and Ocracoke Island have made Dr. Beach's top ten list several times. You can rent any open dates, it does not have to be Saturday to Saturday.

We met up with our daughters as we all live in different states. This cottage had everything we needed for a quick long weekend trip. We arrived ahead of our girls. There were beach chairs, kayak and all the items that we didn’t have to bring. Retail and restaurant’s are in walking distance. There is a bar/ restaurant across the street. You do not hear the outside noise from within the house. We had a wonderful time in a lovely home.

The house was perfect, so close to the beach and everything else we wanted to explore. The little room under the house with all the beach stuff was awesome! Plenty of room, clean, many books to relax with. Very much enjoyed reading about all the shipwrecks in the area and the history of the outer banks. Fascinating! Had to buy my own books at home to continue the reading. Thank you so much! Would definitely stay again!! Best vacay ever!!!!

Overall, we could have stayed longer. The cottage was great. 10 min walk to beach. Easy path to the beach. Was very nice to walk to a few stores located mins from the cottage. Muffins and Scones was very good (a few times). 5 Kids loved the upstairs, had it all to themselves. The cottage had almost everything (expect enough towels for a family of 7) and surprised us on a few things that they did have. The triple decks are always awesome. You will have a good time here. Gotta LOVE the beach.

The house was close to the beach and fully equipped. Need some repairs on the deck, some loose railing and popped nails and a table outside needs thrown away because it's rusty. The home itself is clean and fully equipped. Would stay again. Owners were very responsive and quick to respond.

It's a great house with several nice gathering spaces. Jackie was extremely responsive to any questions or issues we encountered. We had a great time and will hopefully return. Wanting to come back is just about the best recommendation we can give!

Brad and Jackie were impeccable hosts! Any question we had was answered immediately. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Conveniently located to restaurants, beach, and the sound. It was across the street from Froggy Dog and was quiet. We will definitely be back.

Nice 3/2 in Avon. Walking distance to beach and multiple restaurants/ shops. Owner accepted a mid-week to mid-week rental - perfect for a Sunday evening wedding we were attending. The cottage is a little dated but it has a great lay-out with room and privacy for everyone.

The house was quite comfortable for 5 adults, and the location was fine. The restaurant across the street was not a problem at all, and the walk to the beach was quite doable. The house was nicely furnished and the floor plan was workable. It was a nice vacation.
(do note that there are no lifeguards this far down-- families with young children might want to take precautions)

Had a great time at the property. Convenient walk to the beach, the portion of the beach the house leads you is fantastic. The property owners are great to communicate with and made some spot on dinning and beach recommendations. Only negative comment is the pull out sofa bed should be listed to sleep one and not two. Mattress quality is poor. Overall had a great time and would recommend.

Great beach house
We stayed for 10 days at the Butterworth's. We enjoyed the house and area. It's a perfect beach house for family of 8 and dogs. The decks were great for the dogs to watch the people and cars go by. The kitchen is well equipped, rental linens needed to be washed during the week but that wasn't an issue for us. We'd stay here again if we came back down to Avon.

The house is spacious, and the ocean is a short walk. Kitchen is well supplied, and we enjoyed cooking together. However, the house needs some maintenance, and the noise from the road makes the lovely decks less attractive. All in all, its not a bad space, I just regretted not being able to enjoy the decks.

Loved the property, loved the view, sunsets, plenty of room for family, kids, friends. Close to beach, but a little bit of a walk. Beach was beautiful! We rented jet skis for the kids, and a dune buggy for the family. All in all had a great time!!

We stayed for 5 days. The beach was a 5 minute walk, as well as the sound. It can be difficult finding the public access to the beach, but there are many other locations within a 10 minute drive. We were never able to figure out how to access the sound across the street, BUT there is another access point further down the road. Many places within walking distance. If you are planning on getting on the vehicle ferry, please be prepared to wait for a bit to get on. Totally worth it. The atlantic graveyard museum is also a must see.
The house was clean, froggy dog was not too loud at night, even with it being directly across the street. The ocean and sound is viewable from the crows nest, but it is off in the distance. It was honestly too hot to sit out there for long, even with the super comfortable chairs. There were extra blankets and pillows if needed. Plenty of dishes to use, as well as plenty of sea toys in the garage. We left some food and cleaning stuff there for the next group.
I only had a couple of complaints, but they didnt alter my review or the experience..the pillows should probably be updated/changed out, but that could be bc im picky with pillows. The water pressure is fine if you are only doing one shower at a time and no other water is running. The dishwasher AND the washer take forever, even when on quick wash, but that is just a matter of convenience.
There are games and books that are offered there. Tv honestly wont need to be used if you take advantage of what is around. There are plenty of of free things around. Stop at the ocean nature center to pick up pamphlets to see what is free in the area.
There are 2 grills there, i believe both charcoal. There are fishing poles there, but we bought our own. Plenty of fish to catch, which tasted delicious. A lot of places close early and lights go out early bc of the sea turtles.
The ownera are great communicators and answeres e ery question we had and even gave us suggestions on where to check out. We will DEFINITELY be back!!! Great price for what you get!! Beware though!! There are some people who we caught walking through the yard to let their dogs go to the bathroom. We asked them to be mindful and to please stay out of the yard. We cleaned what we could find.

We really loved this property! It is great for small families. The development that it was in was really cute and the people were super friendly. I don’t think my husband and I showered inside the house once, we love the outdoor shower way too much. If you have a dog with you, just watch out for burrs. Not at this house, but in the neighborhood grasses. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you so much to the Butterworth’s!!

A great place to stay!
Property is as described in listing. Enjoyed the nearby amenities and the peacefulness of Avon. Our kids became first time surfers with use of the provided beach stuff and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Property owners were very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions.

Comfortable house
The house was comfortable to stay in and it’s a short walk to the beach. I messaged the host about anything that came up and she responded promptly. We didn’t end up using any of the beach supplies in the garage because of the weather. We enjoyed the upper deck view of the sunset!
