The cottage is in a great location with beautiful sunsets from the living room. The cottage is small but was very spacious for 4 adults with plenty of seating areas. The owner keeps the property in pristine condition and supplies everything you could possibly need. She was available by phone and made sure we had everything we needed but was not intrusive. It was too cold to swim but the rocky beach looked very inviting. We all loved the property and could have stayed for weeks. My husband and I are already planning to return. Rouses Point is 10 minutes away and has plenty of restaurants and a pharmacy as well as a public boat launch. Other convenient boat launches are Great Chazy River (10 minutes away) and Point au Roche (about 25 minutes away but gives you quick access to the Gut for fishing). I cannot think of anything negative about this property.

My family and I had a great week at west winds cottage - the hosts thought of everything! It was exceptionally clean inside and beautiful outside. We enjoyed the kayaks and watching sunsets on the lake, and using the fire pit for s’mores. Close enough for short trips to Plattsburgh, saint albans and Burlington - if you need a break from the lake. Lots of wineries in the area too! We loved this spot and hope to come back next year.

My (almost) month long stay at West Winds Cottage was my first VRBO experience. My first impressions included how spacious the cottage felt, the overall tidiness and cleanliness, how bright it was with so many windows (especially those facing the lake), and how well-stocked everything was - from spices to dishes and cookware to kayaks and life preservers and everything in between! During the stay, Pam and Russ were wonderful - not intrusive, but communicative and quickly responsive to any inquiry. By the end of my stay, their genuine warmth made them feel like extended family. The sunsets were the icing on the cake!

We have stayed here 3 times. Pam and Russ are excellent hosts. The house/location provides the perfect recipe for a great location. Excellent fishing off the dock or on the kayak. Screened gazebo is definitely a plus. Sunsets are beautiful. The cove that the property is on provides some shelter when the lake water is rough so if you have little ones this is definitely a plus. Day trips to Burlington, Montreal, saint Albans and Plattsburgh provide good variety to the vacation.
