Studio 5 Blocks To 4th, 7 to UA. Please be sure to read details :)
About this cottage rental
Nestled in Tucson, this lovely cottage for $47 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Private, detached, furnished studio off 4th Ave, blocks from the University of Arizona & downtown. Simple, clean, and tiny, it stays booked near solid because of the low price for the really great location close to the fun of 4th Ave and downtown. Please be sure to read all details below about cleaning policy, etc :) - Small, clean, detached furnished studio - Its size makes it best suited for solo travelers without a lot of baggage, or couples for short stays - AC with remote, heat & ceiling fan - Fast fiber optic wifi internet (200 Mbps) - Comfortable queen bed with ventilated foam mattress topper - Linens, towels, small desk, dresser, bookshelf, and 3/4 bath (toilet, sink & shower) - Mini-fridge with tiny freezer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee-maker, steamer/rice cooker, blender, dishes and a nice gas grill w/side burner outside on the deck - TV with USB port (no cable- major networks and local channels only, although cable can be arranged for longer stays if necessary) - Nice courtyard with table & chairs - Self-service laundry typically available on request (in a separate locked building, so give me notice in advance & I can unlock it for you) - Please no smoking- we used to accommodate smoking outside on the deck, but have discovered that frequent smokers coming right back in afterward still bring in enough smoke odor that it's sometimes been noticeable by the next guest despite a thorough cleaning. Thank you for understanding. - Please note this guesthouse is TINY: it's just a small bedroom (just large enough to fit all the above) & an attached bath (separated by a curtain). But it has vaulted ceilings and clerestory windows that make it bright & airy - Check-in time is generally after 6 PM, but contact me to let me know when you'll arrive in Tucson, and we might be able to arrange a different time - Check-out time is 11 AM - Sorry but no pets :( I know- I have my own (that's actually been the issue) ..in a quiet and friendly neighborhood that's just blocks from the University and right down the street from the shops, restaurants, and fun of 4th Avenue. IMPORTANT: I don't like to charge the cleaning fees so many other places charge, instead offering you the option of cleaning yourself to avoid a fee. If you don't want to clean the property to the same fully clean condition it was in when you arrived, a fee of up to $50 will be withheld from the overall 'damage' deposit. You definitely don't need to clean if you don't want to be bothered with it, you just have the option of saving up to $50 (pretty easily) if you want. Note that you don't have to do the laundry to get your deposit back, but please make the bed with the spare linens and make sure the place is totally clean and 100% ready to go for the next guest, who may be arriving right after you leave. Please make sure you wipe dry the shower, not just rinse it, so there aren't any water spots. Cleaning products are above the shower (if you run out please let me know so I can bring in some more). And if you miss something, don't worry- I'm not going to charge you the entire $50 to clean one thing. This is just an option to avoid extra cleaning fees if you're like me, and tend to leave places cleaner than you found them :) Note that currently 3 small dogs live in my house and have access to the patio (but not the studio) through a dog door. Maude is old, shy, mostly deaf & usually stays inside our home. The other 2 are recently adopted & in training because they're overly friendly- they excitedly bark and sometimes want to jump up to greet people. If they hear you coming down the drive they will likely rush out of the house barking, excited to see who's coming. If they don't keep all paws firmly on the ground, please tell them NO (no matter how much you may love dogs greeting you). Please don't pet them if they jump up- save petting for the times when they don't. Don't hesitate to let me know if they are being pests, and please make sure you always close the gate behind you or the pups may decide to go on a neighborhood walk by themselves and get into who-knows-what trouble :) Note that neither dog is large or scary at all, but if you don't like dogs or have had bad experiences with them you may not wish to stay here. Also please note that I'm periodically improving the property. If you're there during the day, you may potentially notice the sound of saws and the like, only between 8am and 8pm. This is a rare occurrence, and it isn't very noticeable from inside the studio, but I do want to make guests aware that it's a possibility. If you're at all concerned about it, feel free to inquire if I have any projects planned during your stay. Odds are I don't, and if I do, I usually coordinate it for when you're away from the property.

Property is as described, small but adequate. Great for 1 person. I was biking, golfing and eating elsewhere so didn’t hang out much, but sunny deck was nice when I did! I would be happy to return again on my next solo trip!

My husband and I stayed here for one month, even when we knew how small the place is. We didnt mind it because we spent most of our time outside in Tucson and were in the room only at the end of the day & getting ready in the morning. It was a good price for the value, and we liked the location (close to 4th avenue). Everthing in the room was as described. The dogs were friendly and did not bother us. Michael was always available if we had any questions.

Convenient location. Quiet. Tiny, but efficient. Very cooperative and supportive owner. Bed excellent. Well stocked "kitchen". Could do with a little less interaction with dogs--pretty constant outdoor companions!

La Casita is cozy, comfortable, and cute. The bed was comfy, there was plenty of hot water, the little fridge held just the right amount of fresh food, and the internet was blazing fast. It's close to 4th and the Food Conspiracy Coop with all the organic goodness you could want, and the streetcar that goes around town. Host is responsive and informative, a pleasure to deal with. 10/10 would stay here again.

Comfortable and Good Value
This was our first experience with VRBO. The studio was comfortable and a good value for our 2-night stay in Tucson. We will definitely try VRBO again and would definitely rent this cozy little studio again if we ever find ourselves back in Tucson.

Simply the best deal in Tucson!
Very reasonably priced. Convenient to the best part of downtown, Old Tucson (Easily walk into town and do the Turquoise Trail), and the Univ. of Arizona. Clean, simple accommodations in a pleasant neighborhood. If you’re considering ‘small house living’ come try it out and you’ll be surprised at how much living can be found in a small footprint. Great hosts. We’ll be back.

Very convenient location, definitely a tight space, but does the trick. Michael was great and we would certainly visit again.

Tiny, but mighty
Michael is a delightful host. His place is tiny, but has everything necessary for a short stay. Its only drawback for me was that there was only one eye-level window. The neighborhood is quiet, very close to the University and the Tucson Art Museum, etc.

charming, convenient location, great rate
Central location helped my husband and I familiarize ourselves with Tucson. Small, yes, but my 6 ' 5 " husband and I managed. Michael gave us some good food and sightseeing advice and we were able to easily park street-side in this quiet historic neighborhood, yet quickly access major roads to visit UA or explore out of town. We appreciated resting up in a comfortable bed after several busy days. Would stay here again when next we visit Tucson.

Nice little place.
We just wanted a place to sleep and this one fit the bill. Although very small it was perfect for my husband and me for two nights. My husband especially liked the comfy bed. The landlord was working on the shower and as a result we were delayed getting into the house the first day, but there was a bottle of wine in our fridge! Thank you.

Great location and great host
It's true, Su Casita is small, but had everything that I needed, and a lovely sun-filled deck to read, drink coffee (or whatever the beverage choice may be), eat, etc. It is within walking distance to 4th St area and UA, and you can also hop on the streetcar that is a quick 4ish block walk if you don't want to walk anymore than that. When going farther afield I used Uber and also rented a car for one day so that I could go to a couple of places on my own (the rental rate was $21 for the day, after taxes, so cheaper than Uber for my purposes that day)!
Thanks to Michael for providing Su Casita to travelers. He was always quick to respond to any questions I had. I came to Tucson to explore a place I had never been and to both "disconnect" and "recharge." Mission accomplished - fun adventures, interesting converations with locals and visitors alike, great food, going to a family circus (Zoppe!), and the opportunity to particpate in the Women's March on Washington - Tucson.
Having such a convenient and comfortable place to return to each night topped off each day. Would not hesitate to stay there again if I return to Tuscon solo.

Great Low Cost Option
This is the place to stay if you are looking for the best deal near the U of A /Diamond Children's hospital. The separate guest house has everything you need: queen size bed, microwave, toaster oven, utensils & plates, frig, shower (no bath) and mini closet space. Hot tub and grill are also available outside (we did not get a chance to use). Details of rental include cleaning or charge of $50 deducted from deposit, but space is small enough that it is not a lot of work to clean. Michael is a very accomodating and welcoming host. Highly recommended.

Location, Comfort, Quiet
Su Casita offers everything needed for a stay that is more about doing things in Tucson than about hanging around in your room. It is very near the University of Arizona and walking distance to the shops and restaurants on 4th Avenue. It is also just two blocks from Speedway, which is a main artery of Tucson, making access to many sites and attractions very easy. The casita is behind a house on a quiet street, so there are none of the noises that are such a part of any hotel stay. The owners are pleasant and available without being at all intrusive.
The room is small but the high ceilings make it feel larger. Amenities include a small refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven so all meals do not have to be from a restaurant. There is even a gas grill with a burner for stovetop type cooking. There is a television with an assortment of broadcast channels for those of us who do not choose to stream media. The decor is quite masculine, which is a refreshing change from the preciousness that plagues so many short term rentals. On top of all this the price is more than reasonable. If there was room for a comfy chair I could live there for an extended stay.

It was clean, small, quiet and perfect!
My wife and I stayed for a week while watching our daughter play softball with her college team. We did not spend a lot of time at the house, but when we did it was exactly as advertised. It is small, but comfortable and quiet. It was a perfect spot for the two of us and Michael was very helpful and responsive when we did have a question or need. I would happily stay there again.
