About this house rental
Located in Capitol Hill, this charming house for $220 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. English basement studio of this newly rebuilt town house is in Capitol Hill Historic district. This efficiency basement room has one queen bed with one shower (full bath) and a sleeper sofa (full /almost queen bed), with all amenities you could need, including a kitchen, microwave, oven, dishwasher and washer/dryer combo. There are utensils, pots, pans, plates, knives and everything you will need in a kitchen. Hair dryer, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, iron, ironing board are also provided. Flat screen TV and internet connection are provided too. Located just 3 blocks from the Capitol, 4 blocks from the Supreme Court, and a little more than one block from the Library of Congress, this property is in a very safe neighborhood with easy street parking. We will provide temporary parking permit for street parking if guests give us the tag number and state of registration before arrival. The Mall, Smithsonian museums, and other popular tourist attractions are within walking distance. In addition, there are two and a half blocks of a wide variety of restaurants, bars, stores and banks just one block away from the house. Also just moments away, guests can find bus stops and bike share station to explore the city. There are also two metro stations (Eastern Market and Capitol South) only 3 and a half and 4 blocks away. Nationals baseball park is a little more than a mile away. We take safety seriously. There are three different kinds of carbon monoxide alarm in the basement and fire sprinkler (concealed under round plates on the ceiling). People who want to be green can rejoice as Solar panels power the house. There is a separate thermostat for the basement for you to control the temperature. Entrance is separate from the main house and has keyless lock. Thank you very much to the guests who stayed with us and gave us nice reviews. We were able to walk the capital and national library of congress. The host was helpful and very informative. The bathroom was was nice and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked, good breakfast items were provided and they even had detergent available for laundry.

This property location was amazing. Very walkable, safe and clean neighborhood. We felt very safe walking home at night and leaving our car on the street. The apartment was clean and well stocked. There were even a dozen eggs, a gallon of milk and cereal for us to enjoy. The host, Peter, went above and beyond. He informed us when we had to move our car for street cleaning and checked in on us to see if we needed anything, he even sent us a message that a storm was coming! The apartment is small but clean and comfortable. It was perfect for our family as we just needed a place to sleep and make dinners and wash clothes as needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Peter's description is spot-on: A very comfortable, well-appointed, perfectly located one-room home-base for our 3 day walking tour of DC--lovely neighborhood, easy walk to great restaurants (try Ambar!) and the Mall. And Peter is continuously and generously available to answer all questions re parking (free--he manages entirely on your behalf!), logistics, sites. Just what we needed!

It is located in a safe neighborhood which is close to the Eastern Market Metro, has several restaurants that are walking distance and are not ridiculously expensive and is walking distance to many important sites in Washington.
Peter is very accessible through VRBO message board and always responds in a prompt manner. I would stay here again if I went to Washington, DC.

Convenient to the National mall, just a few blocks from market and restaurants and great setup for my son and I. Communication was fantastic and there were even easy to cook food stuff and cereal there upon arrival to help for an easy transition!

What a great, convenient place to stay! Location is perfect to get around and see DC; the metro and bus stop are only a few blocks away. Indeed - location, location, location. We parked our car (easy parking in front of the unit, with provided parking pass) and didn't move it most of the week! Easy walk to the Capitol Building and the east end of the mall. Or we could pick up a Capital Bikeshare from the rack about a block away from the unit.
A full grocery store was a drive away, but Trader Joe's, CVS, and multiple restaurants were within walking distance.
The unit is small but did the trick for us and our two teen boys. Small oven (but it fit a pizza in it), microwave, gorgeous full size fridge, and a wee little dishwasher made up the kitchen. A gallon of milk, some eggs & cereal were provided to start us off for the week - a nice touch. And a washer/dryer unit. Small but functional closet to hang clothes and store a few items. Heard a bit of noise from upstairs, but frankly, we were out and about most of the time AND so tired when we arrived back home that we conked out quick. The bathroom is gorgeous - lovely shower!
Our host Peter was very responsive to any questions and needs throughout the week. I would highly recommend this unit and we may stay here again sometime if it's available!
This unit is PERFECT for a "home base" for someone who values location.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was a convenient location. The area (Capital Hill) is safe. Many restaurants within walking distance. Two metro stations 3 or 4 blocks away. Owner provides 4 metro cards which was helpful. Just take them to the metro and add funds at one of the self service machines.

Location and Amenities
This cute little apartment is so close to the mall, we couldn't have guessed the easy walk to everything from there. This Vrbo is cute, small and not real fancy, but who needs that when you aren't there very much. The refrigerator was stocked with water, some pop, milk and eggs. There were coffee and snacks provided, plus more.
I especially appreciated the Metro passes and the local maps and brochures provided as we hadn't been to DC in a lot of years. We would definitely stay again!

Great spot on a quite street.
We had a wonderful stay in Washington DC. Peter was quick to respond to all questions. He allowed us to check in a little early and out late to accommodate our travel plans. The fridge was stocked with water, soda, milk and eggs. Snacks and cereal were also available. Everything is close by including places to eat and convenient stores. We walked to most places but also Ubered and even scootered around town. Thanks again!
