About this house rental
Situated in Copake Lake, this charming house for $800 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Completely refurbished 1827 post and beam barn renovated in July 2012. This space features an Adirondack 'chic' style -- appointed with Mitchell Gold furniture, a custom built 6' round dining room table, vintage indoor fireplace (Dec 2013), double insulated windows, concrete counter tops and island/bar, stainless steel appliances and induction cooktop -- all surrounded by the original wood floors and walls making this 3,000 sq. ft. 3-bedroom/3-bathroom space feel spacious, yet cozy! Offering views of Zeky's Pond across the street and just a short walk away from Copake Lake and the Copake Country Club, you won't run out of things to do. This is the perfect spot for a family vacation, golf trip, or simply a couples' getaway. Please note: This house is located about 1/4 mile down the street from Copake Lake; it is not a lakefront property. However, The Barn renters DO have direct lake access via a privately owned lakeside deck that is accessible by foot, provided golf carts or car. There is no public beach at Copake Lake. Renters receive their own 15'x15' lakeside deck space (half of a 30'x15' deck that is shared with our other rental property).There are (2) docks attached to the deck that are used for Copake Lake Boat Rentals and Copake Country Club boat parking. These docks can be used by renters for swimming and fishing, but are not dedicated to renters; only the deck space is dedicated. Docks are in the water from mid-May until the end of September. Weekend evenings cannot be booked singly. Fridays and Saturdays must be booked together as a minimum in the same weekend. Primary renter needs to be 21 years of age or older and MUST be an active guest for the period (cannot sign in for underage renters). Stays during Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day are three days minimum (Friday to Monday) at the weekend rate. Additional days on the front or back end of the trip are permitted and will be charged at the standard weekday rate. The Barn can be rented as a space to hold special events such as wedding ceremonies and small family reunions by working with The Greens at Copake Country Club for catering and decor coordination. Logistics such as parking, restrooms, rentals and noise require careful consideration at our unique property and therefore we cannot allow events of more than 20 people to be hosted at The Barn without the use of our event planning services. Additional fees may apply. Pets are allowed on a case by case basis and depending on the animal breed and size. A pet fee of $50 (per pet) will be added to your stay. The Barn is equipped with split type ductless air conditioners and baseboard heaters. Please be aware that on very hot or very cold days it may take some time to cool/heat the space. We do our best to turn the units on prior to your arrival, but it is a large, old house, so please be patient. Please carefully read all cancellation policies. Credit applied to refunds is not applicable to holiday or peak season stays and credit use is at the discretion of the host. Risk of COVID-19 is taken by the guests and therefore does not alter our cancellation policies.

The barn is such a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking to spend quality time with a group of friends or family. Between ping pong, foosball, the fire pit, and large open space with the large dining table for games, and large barn doors that open up to the yard, there are endless way to enjoy and things to do just in the barn itself nevermind the Copake area. The layout is very unique and flows nicely for a balance between always feeling part of what’s going on in the home and having privacy if needed as well. I would 100% recommend the barn to anyone!

The Barn was very clean, nicely renovated and fun experience for the kids. Ping pong table was a hit. Close to Catamount ski mountain and good restaurant 2 minutes away at Copake Lake Country Club.

We enjoyed a wonderful few days at the Barn between Christmas and New Year's with my sister and our teens. The house is beautiful and so spacious. We played games, cooked, did a jigsaw and just relaxed. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and ample wood, walking by the lake, and a day exploring Hudson and the Olana estate. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is great for cooking together and hanging out. The only downside is the house was quite cold when we arrived (temps outside were in the teens) and it took a full day to warm up and be comfortable in the big main room. We couldn't figure out how to work wall mounted heat units -- it would be good to have instructions for those. In the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms the baseboards were fine, but the ones in the main room aren't enough to get that room warm when it's really cold outside. This is absolutely still a 5 star place, one of the nicest homes I've rented, and I would love to be here with a group in the summer when you can open the big barn doors to the outside.

Dale the property manager and Austin the pontoon boat rental liaison were available every step of the way to answer any questions at any time. The property is just as it is represented in pictures. Perfect space for lawn games, fire pit relaxing, and bbq’ing. The Barn was clean and the amenities were spot on. Extra sheets, pillows, etc. for sleeping . No complaints at all. 5 stars all around. Highly recommend The Barn for any of your large gathering. Thanks !!

Everybody commented on "how cool" the place was Our two boys (11,15) and a friend really loved the game loft of course and played a lot of ping-pong and pinball(once we figured out the secret switch underneath). We also rented the double-decker pontoon boat from Austin for that Sunday. what a great day to be on a great lake! The lake is super close by walking or even closer by using the provided golf carts and a winding wooded trail. Huge fire pit for hanging out at night and a great deck for outdoor dining. Communication, access to the property, instructions were all easy-peasy. I only had a few minor pet peeves which all centered around cooking: only 1 of 3 burners on the gas grill worked and the temperature gauge on The Big Green Egg was broken. Not enough large skillets for the the induction range! Otherwise, the house was well stocked, well arranged and in decent shape for an amazing stay. We've already talked about a winter ski trip at this house and I am sure we will be back!

Unique and Beautiful Property
The property is so unique and truly beautiful. Clean and well appointed. We loved the openness of the common spaces, the loft set-up and the ability to open the doors out to the patio and fire-pit area. Each of the bedrooms felt like a private retreat and provided plenty of space for guests. We stayed for the weekend when we hosted an event at the Country Club but are already looking for a reason to go back!

Perfect end of summer retreat!
We just back from a beautiful visit to The Barn at Copake Lake! The property is beautiful, and totally different from anywhere we’ve stayed before. We loved having the golf carts for “deer spotting” at night, and trips to the lake. The new deck on the lake was a perfect place to hang out, and the kids learned to kayak while we were there! Also, went to The Greens for lunch at the country club, delicious! Can’t wait to plan another trip back!

Excellent hangout property
Two families of five enjoyed their spring break around the campfire and trekking into the Berkshires for day trips. Do pay close attention to the map/location before booking as we somehow missed this property is not on any water. We could not access the pond and had to drive over and borrow the owner's dock to let our kids fish at the lake. It's a great place to gather and cook and grill and be together, but we mistakenly thought we'd get more lake access than we did for mid-April.

Perfect Socially Distant Bachelorette Party
The barn was the absolute perfect location to celebrate my bachelorette weekend during the COVID pandemic. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the foliage in October was breath-taking. The barn and country club offered everything we needed for a wonderful weekend - we didn't need to leave the property! Jon and his son Austin were super responsive all weekend and made sure we had everything we needed. We really appreciated their flexibility with check in/check out. The house was perfectly clean and had such cozy, yet elegant, rustic décor. Such a great space for a big group. We had 11 women staying for the weekend, and the space fit everyone comfortably. We will definitely be returning!

The Barn was the perfect property for our group. The kitchen was more than adequate in allowing us to cook for a large group. The firepit was great during the evening. Proximity to Copake Lake and Copake Country Club made booking this property a no brainer. I will definately be returning. Big group or small group, the Barn is a incredible place to stay.

Relaxing week at the Barn
We had a perfect week at the barn - lots to do inside and out and many beautiful hikes nearby. Jon was a great host, the food at the Greens is wonderful. The barn is very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Now our boys want a ping pong table!

Fantastic, relaxing getaway
We couldn't have enjoyed our week at the barn more. The house is fantastic, the lake is beautiful and the owners couldn't be easier to work with. My kids, all under 8, had a blast and we got to enjoy the huge fire pit and the kayaks and canoe at the lake. There is also a pontoon boat available for rent which was a blast. We got takeout from the country club right up the hill and it was really good! Short drives to beautiful waterfall hikes and the town of great barrington. We will definitely come back.

New memories with old friends at the Barn
The big red barn is an amazing place to gather with friends and family for any occasion. It is nestled in a hillside with a beautiful outdoor area, even when its cold ... it has a fire pit. The inside is cozy yet spacious, Jon has done a great job keeping things simple and providing everything you need. I had a few questions over the weekend and Jon responded to my emails right away. If interested in the Barn, it won't dissapoint ... my friends and I have been up 3 out of the last 5 autumns, and plan more in the future. Thanks Jon!!!

Amazing Fall Barn Weekend!
Staying at the Barn at Copake was a dream! A group of us came up for a cozy fall weekend and we were blown away by the barn and all of the amenities. The fire pit, outdoor space and grills, game room, golf carts and boat access really made this place so great. The house was huge and everyone had a bed, the kitchen and dining area was big enough to prepare large dinners every night, and the common spaces were great for game night. Jon was the best host - always on call to answer questions and connecting us with people to fix lights, etc. My group was so impressed and this weekend was really the highlight of everyone’s year. We really hope to make this weekend a tradition!

Me and a group of friends stayed at the barn for my birthday weekend and had the time of our lives! Jon was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with and made our stay so enjoyable. We had dinner at the country club and it was delicious! The golf carts at the house are a huge plus when it comes to getting around the lake and the neighborhood. I can't say enough about how great the house was! We loved the fire pit and hammock and we spent the whole weekend in the yard hanging out. We will definitely be back!
