UNIT NAME: HARBOR This beautiful private waterfront vacation home is located on the 165+ft of picturesque shorefront in Gills Rock, Wisconsin. The floor to ceiling windows offer a panoramic water view to Hedgehog Harbor from kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom loft. The magnificent sunsets overlooking Door Bluff can be enjoyed either from inside the house or from the large flagstone private outside patio in the back yard. The patio is great for entertaining with an area for grilling (charcoal grill available; charcoal not provided) and a fire pit (firewood not provided). The lakefront beach offers great swimming) and water fun opportunities for water lovers (rocky bottom). Enjoy the starry night in the hot tub located on the lakeshore (open May 1st through end of October). The property is located only two minutes walking distance from a marina. The house has an attached roomy three car garage used as a game room on the main floor (shared with another unit) with an easy access to the unit. The open floor concept allows great flow between the living room, dining room and the kitchen with beautiful tile and wood flooring and Scandinavian imported wood wall paneling. The kitchen has gorgeous granite counter tops and rich cherry colored cabinetry. All basic kitchen appliances (gas stove with oven, microwave, toaster, regular coffee maker) and dishes are available. The newly remodeled modern looking spacious easy access tiled bathroom on the main floor also includes a specious brand new electric sauna. The old beams off bedroom located in the open loft offer the area a lot of charm in addition to additional beautiful views of the lake. There is a queen and twin bed in the loft, a pullout couch in the dining room and a pullout couch in the living room. Cottage is even more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures, and WOW, the view of the bay is spectacular! We had everything we needed and were so cozy for our winter visit. The hot tub wasn’t available to use (it’s positioned close to the beach and would be too frozen, it’s actually noted on the listing but we missed it before booking), but there were so many other things to do we didn’t mind. There’s a fantastic game room (shared with the other rental unit) with a pool table and a big collection of board games where we spent a lot of time. There’s also a private sauna, inside the unit we stayed in, great for warming up after a winter hike. Bed and couch were both soft and comfy, there are a lot of nice little hangout areas all over the house. The bathroom was also one of the best bathrooms I’ve seen in a vacation rental, with a huuuuge shower! It is worth noting that the stairs to the loft, where both beds are, are very steep and those with mobility issues may struggle. The location is also far north on the peninsula, so prepare to drive plenty. We had a stunning view of the stars at night though and lots of peace and quiet, exactly what we wanted! Recommend checking out Hügel Haus, it’s under 10 minutes drive from the house, and Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay is not too much further than that. Gretel and Dan were great hosts, communication was easy and they were so kind and accommodating! We were sad to go home, can’t wait to come back soon!

Great getaway for Christmas. LOVED the sauna , was hoping to use the hot tub on the water too, but must only be open in summer - will have to come back to try it! We cooked a lot and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed! The patio and bonfire pit were awesome. Amazing views- beautiful rocky beach. Our dog loved the yard, beach, and nearby parks !

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! The location is great, and we look forward to coming back when the hot tub is available for use, as we learned it is closed down for the season. It's a charming space and the view cannot be beat! There are skylights in the bedroom and larger living space, so bring a sleep mask if you are light sensitive. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and the addition of some blankets on the couch would make it even cozier in cooler weather. We look forward to coming back with friends so that we can share the two adjoining properties and meet up to play pool in the space between both properties.

Perfect lakefront getaway. Owners are super nice and responsive at any time. Everything from kitchen utensils to towels and sheets provided. Location can't be beat. Will for sure stay there again.

We recently stayed here for a long weekend. Everything was as advertised. The location is quiet and RIGHT ON THE WATER. We will go back for sure. Dan, the owner, stopped by to help us with the wifi as he lives just a few doors down. Highly recommend this property!

My normal spot was booked so I took a chance on this property and it was amazing. The view is wonderful and the hot tub and sauna added extra perks. The location was quiet but still close to everything. It was a great find.

Everything about our stay was flawless! From the paradise-like setting and amazing view to the remote-but-easily-accessible location. The bed was as comfortable as our own at home and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat in a few times. We greatly enjoyed soaking in the hot tub twice a day at the water’s edge, in fact we caught some beautiful sunsets from there! It was fun watching the boats and ships go by while we relaxed on the patio. The game room is very nice and we played a few games of pool. It was a short walk to the Shoreline restaurant and Charlie’s Smokhouse and a few gift shops with extremely welcoming owners. Even though Sister Bay is only 10 minutes away, we felt at all times like we were really “off the beaten path”. The stairway up to the loft is somewhat narrow and steep but it wasn’t a problem for us. Our trip was amazing and we would definitely stay here again!

The property was just outstanding!!!
From the hot tub at the lakes edge, to the hammock.
We would have been happy without ever leaving, but there is just so much to see and do all within 20 minutes.
From sunset cruise to just sharing a bottle of wine at the restaurant that is maybe a 2 minute drive.
We will definitely be returning, and will be staying here again.

Our three-night stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The house is clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The view of the lake is stunning. We enjoyed using the paddleboards, bikes, hot tub, sauna, firepit, and pool table. Dan was very friendly and did a good job ensuring we had everything we needed. Overall, this was a great place to stay, and I can’t wait until next summer when we return.

The property was very clean and perfect for us. The stairs up to the loft are very steep but we didn't have too much trouble. Our dog loved the yard and we spent some time in the hammock. Unfortunately we had rainy weather our entire trip so no sunsets, but just being on the water was so nice. It's a quick 7 minute drive to a coffee shop and a couple of restaurants: Sister Bay is 15 minutes away with a lot more options. There were people staying in the connected unit, but we only heard them in the shared garage. It was very private. Overall we would stay here again!

Enjoyed our 3 day stay at the cabin. Located within 15 minutes of our favorite places near sister bay and far enough north it was quiet as can be. Great garage for entertaining and a bathroom with sauna that looked like it was out of the future. Only things I’d note is the shower was a bit cool even when turned up hot and bedroom is in a loft up some fairly steep stairs, so be prepared for that if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Views though are incredible, right on the bay!

The views are incredible. We traveled the world and this was the place with the best view of sunset directly from the property backyard. We enjoyed the bon fires in the evening watching the sun set, convenient grilling station and spent hours relaxing in the hammock listening to the waves 50 feet away. The bathroom is renovated and has a full size sauna! The bedroom loft is so cute, full size bed is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The hosts were great and we enjoyed meeting one of them in person. We cannot wait to plan another trip.

Would not change one thing about our stay. The area was quaint and welcoming. I spent hours being entertained by the ever changing lake. My dog loved the big yard, and we played fetch all day.

This property is perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. The bathroom is so nice (there’s a sauna!) and everything is clean and cozy.
Gretel and Dan were very kind and attentive. The property is two units, but both have privacy and you cannot hear/see each other during the stay.
The best part was watching our city dog have zoomies all over the yard.
Incredible place.

The property was beautiful but due to cloudy conditions, did not get to see the western sunsets. The home was lovely and met our needs. We didn't expect to have neighbors next door but ended up becoming friends around the fire pit our first evening!

This property exceeded my expectations! Such a fabulous location and so many amenities. It is a great place to stay for easy access to the Washington Island Ferry, and Peninsula and Newport state parks. And to get away from the hustle and bustle of DC tourists. Highly recommend!

Home needs some TLC, , update furnishings and install a dishwasher. Smoke detector was sitting on table, so that was a bit concerning.

As my 12 year old daughter said “it was paradise!” 🤩 The inside of the house was very nice, cozy, and the kitchen was well equipped. The place was absolutely amazing! The view of the setting sun and reflection on the lake was magical! One of our favorite things to do during our stay was evening kayaking where we were able to watch the sunset. The kids really enjoyed swimming in the lake and also relaxing in the hot tub. Beautiful Cabin and Vacation
We had such a wonderful time staying here. The cabin was so clean and a wonderful gathering place. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom has been updated since the listing photos - it is beautiful! Our two dogs loved running around the large yard and had easy access to the water via the rock/pebble beach. The rocks are smooth and water washed so they are easy to walk on and made for quick in/out with our kayaks. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Place!
Very quiet, private location. Cabin is right on the bay; we spent hours watching loons and pelicans playing in the yet-cold waters. The property is within walking distance of a coffee shop that has a good-sized dog run, which is wonderful when you have a dog you can't let off leash. Beautiful bathroom and dry sauna; well-equipped kitchen. Magnificent views. Dave and Gretl were immediately responsive to our questions. We'd return in a heartbeat.
