About this cabin rental
Thank you for selecting Yosemite Hilltop Cabins for your get-away! You will receive a pre-check-in email regarding your stay, if you can fill that out it would be much appreciated. As some details are required, other questions simply help with the housekeeping schedule.
NOTE – This listing is for the Sage Cabin. The listing and availability calendar for the Lupin Cabin is also on VRBO/HomeAway under property number 115073. Both cabins are on the same property, have the same floor plan, and are furnished almost identically.
Our cabins are very private. Even though the Sage and Lupin Cabins are located next to each other they are oriented to maintain maximum privacy. Each cabin has 17-foot-tall wood beam ceilings with ceiling fans and lots of windows to take advantage of the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Each cabin has a master bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and down comforter. There is also a foldout sofa bed that is the size of a full mattress. The cabin has a full bath, full kitchen, and reading loft. Each cabin also has its own patio with a high quality Weber gas barbecue
When you arrive at your cabin there will be fresh linens on the bed and clean towels in the bathroom. There will be brand-name shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. You will only need to bring food, clothes, and personal toiletry items.
Fantastic hiking and running trails with wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife can be accessed right from the cabins.
Unfortunately no pets or dogs are allowed. Yosemite is not very dog friendly. You won't be able to take your dog with you on hikes.
Each cabin has a TV/DVD player. The TV has no programming, DVD only. There is a small DVD library to pick from or you can bring your own movies.
The kitchen has all the cookware and dinnerware that you will need to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen also has a microwave oven, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and coffee maker.
The cabins are heated in the winter by propane heaters that look like wood-burning stoves. Both cabins have evaporative coolers that work great to keep the cabins cool during the summer.
Some cell phones work at the cabins. Verizon is the best. Each cabin has a land-line telephone for use during your stay.
There is satellite internet provided by HughesNet. There is a cap on the amount of bandwidth that is available. PLEASE DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR WATCH VIDEOS AS IT WILL IMPACT GUESTS THAT ARRIVE AFTER YOU.
Current Yosemite road and weather conditions can be found by calling Yosemite National Park at 209-372-0200. Current road conditions in the State of California can be found by calling Caltrans at 800-427-7623.
Grocery Stores/Markets near cabins – Crane Flat Gas Station/Market (8 miles), Yosemite Village Market (13 miles), El Portal Market on Hwy 140 (14 miles).
Hilltop Cabins practices good neighbor policies. A signed rental agreement and ID verification are required.

This cabin was worth the price for the convenience alone. It’s only 25-30 minutes to the valley floor, 20 minutes to Tuolumne Grove, and under 90 minutes to Mariposa Grove, Glacier Point, and most of Tioga Rd. The drive into Yosemite Valley from Foresta is beautiful and much more comfortable than the winding, long drive in from Wawona, where we had also considered staying. The cabin is simple but clean and well-equipped for everything we needed as 2 adults. My wife has celiac so we cooked all of our meals here instead of dining out and it worked out great. We stopped in Oakhurst on the way in for groceries and bought a couple things at the Village Store during the week. We enjoyed watching DVDs and the fireplace in the evenings after hiking all day. Excellent stargazing as well! The bed was also surprisingly comfortable. It is worth noting that the Lupin cabin is situated a few feet apart from this one and you do walk past the other cabin to get to this one. Even so, this cabin felt very private once inside and we never heard our neighbors. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend it!

The cabin was amazing, I highly recommend! Great proximity to the middle of the park and it was very comfortable. The final stretch to the cabin is a steep, uneven dirt road so you will be more comfortable if you have an SUV, especially one equipped with 4x4 if there’s any poor weather.

Nice place to serve as a home base for exploring Yosemite. Easy 20 minute senic drive to the valley floor. King bed was quite comfortable.
